policies are frequently reported, and the door to the trillion-dollar market has been opened. However, Japan has already made a heavy bet in the field of hydrogen energy. Will it be stuck with Chinese companies in the future? Moreover, the five major problems of hydrogen energy commercialization, namely hydrogen production, hydrogen storage, hydrogen transportation, hydrogen use, and safety, are still global problems, which are obstacles to the development of hydrogen energy. Domestic hydrogen energy is at the forefront, but it may be stuck by Japanese companies.

Recently, the benefits of domestic hydrogen energy have been reported frequently. On August 26, Shanghai issued relevant policies to support the development of hydrogen energy, providing loan interest discount support of up to 200 basis points for bank loans used by qualified hydrogen energy companies for production, research and development and operations. The annual interest discount amount shall not exceed 20 million yuan for enterprises above regulation and 5 million yuan for enterprises under regulation。

The day before, seven departments including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued an action plan for the green and low-carbon development of the information and communications industry (2022-2025), which plans to encourage companies to build green energy facilities in their own sites and cooperate with green energy solution providers to consume them nearby. Promote the use of lithium batteries in an orderly manner and explore applications such as hydrogen fuel cells.

Five months ago, the \"Medium and Long-term Plan for the Development of the Hydrogen Energy Industry (2021-2035)\" issued by relevant national departments has made a clear plan: by 2025, the core technologies and manufacturing processes will be basically mastered, and industrial by-products will be initially established. A hydrogen energy supply system that mainly utilizes hydrogen production and renewable energy hydrogen production nearby. By 2030, a relatively complete hydrogen energy industry technological innovation system and clean energy hydrogen production and supply system will be formed to strongly support the realization of the carbon peak goal. By 2035, a diversified application ecosystem of hydrogen energy will be formed, and the proportion of renewable energy hydrogen production in terminal energy consumption will increase significantly.

Simply put, China's phased development goals for hydrogen energy in the next 15 years have been set.

This is undoubtedly a huge benefit for the hydrogen energy market, and the capital market is the first to respond. On August 26, the hydrogen energy sector broke out across the board and staged a wave of daily limit. Degut's 20CM daily limit, Jinhong Gas rose by more than 10%, Whitpu, Xiongtao, Power Xinke daily limit, Zhiyuan Xinneng, Quanchai Power, Houpu shares, etc. rose by more than 5%.

On August 29, the hydrogen energy sector remained strong, but the leading stocks have been replaced. Degut, which had the biggest gain in the last trade, opened higher in early trading and once rose by more than 14%, but then began to slide all the way. However, Huibopu, 3D Chemical, and Ice Wheel Environment continued to maintain a strong daily limit trend.

In particular, Huibopu broke through the upper edge of the box shock formed since mid-to-late June 2018 in the form of a straight board, and the stock price has opened up room for rising, which deserves close attention.

Research reports from several securities institutions put forward that,2022 will be the first year of explosion in the hydrogen energy and fuel cell industries。 According to the forecast of the China Hydrogen Energy Alliance, the output value of China's hydrogen energy industry will reach 1 trillion yuan from 2020 to 2025, and 5 trillion yuan from 2026 to 2035. It is expected that hydrogen energy will account for 10% of the energy share by 2050.

However, some market participants are worried that Japan's technology patents in the field of hydrogen energy development account for 30% of the world's total, ranking first in the world. Among them, Toyota has the most patented technologies for hydrogen energy batteries. Although it has disclosed many patents, it still has some core patented technologies that other manufacturers cannot use.

Real problems follow. Just like Android, on the surface, it looks like global enterprises are open, but when the United States wants to sanction anyone, openness will reverse into closure. For example, multinational technology companies such as Microsoft and Intel have always liked to engage in brutal strangulation battles with patent sticks. Will the hydrogen energy sector repeat the same mistakes?

The answer is obvious. What is even more confusing is that even Japan, which regards hydrogen energy as a national policy, has made a 180-degree U-turn in the use of hydrogen energy. In early 2021, Nissan announced that it would suspend its plan to cooperate with Daimler and Ford to develop fuel cell vehicles. Focus on the development of electric vehicles. In June of that year, Honda closed its Sayama factory in Japan and stopped production of the hydrogen fuel cell vehicle Clarity, but it would still cooperate with General Motors to develop fuel cell vehicles. Only Toyota, which has invested heavily, is still struggling to hold on.

At the same time, Mercedes-Benz also announced that it will stop developing hydrogen fuel cell passenger cars, and its new energy strategy has just changed from \"EV First pure electric first\" to \"EV Only pure electric only\". At present, there are not many European manufacturers that are still insisting on hydrogen fuel cell technology.

Even an article published by \"Nature\" has come to a conclusion for hydrogen energy battery vehicles: hydrogen fuel cells have three major shortcomings in commercialization, and they are out.

Under such circumstances, how many opportunities do domestic hydrogen energy and hydrogen energy vehicles have? Once domestic hydrogen energy vehicles become popular in the future, will they encounter patent wars from these giant companies? How do we break the game?

Will it be stuck?

To answer whether you will be stuck, you must first answer the topic of Japan's transition from technological closure to technological openness.

In November 2019, Hisashi Nakai, an authority on hydrogen energy research at Toyota Motor Corporation, told some visiting Chinese media,To realize a hydrogen energy society,It needs to be promoted in cooperation with governments, energy suppliers and counterparts in the automotive industry. That year, the importance of hydrogen energy was also mentioned for the first time in the communique and action plan of the Group of Twenty (G20) summit hosted by Japan.

Four years ago, Toyota launched the first-generation hydrogen energy vehicle \"MIRAI\", thus obtaining more than 5,000 patented technologies. Also this year,Tesla has disclosed all patented electric vehicle technologies for free.

This car takes about 3 to 5 minutes to inflate at a time, and its cruising range can reach 650 kilometers. By 2019, the annual production volume of the car will be 3,200 units, mainly sold in Europe, the United States and Japan, and has not yet entered the Chinese market. The price in Japan is 7 million yen (about 420,000 yuan), the Japanese government subsidizes 1/3, and the personal commitment is about 280,000 yuan. Toyota will basically not lose money.

Toyota is ambitious-they plan not only to build 1 million hydrogen vehicles by 2030, but to build a hydrogen society-the intention is clear,They not only want business opportunities, but also firmly grasp the voice of global hydrogen energy。

To this end, Japan has built a complete industrial chain: the import of liquefied gas is undertaken by international trading companies-the manufacturing, processing and storage of hydrogen are done by companies such as Iwatani Industry-the manufacturing of hydrogen energy vehicles is led by companies such as Toyota-the R&D and manufacturing of high-pressure gas tanks is led by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, a famous Japanese military enterprise, etc.-the R&D and production of new materials for automobiles and gas tanks are in the hands of companies such as Toray Corporation.

This completely opens up the five major links of hydrogen energy: manufacturing, storage, transportation and supply, safety management, and utilization.

Everyone is delighted to see that hydrogenation takes 5 minutes and the battery life of eight to nine hundred kilometers is not a problem. Moreover, everyone also has a consensus that lithium batteries convert fossil energy into electric energy and then store it in lithium batteries. This is not an ideal new energy source, and the environmental protection and distribution of hydrogen energy are considered to be one of the ultimate new energy sources.

Japan has also obtained the killer weapon of the hydrogen energy society they want-from 2011 to 2020, there were as many as 34,600 hydrogen energy patent applications.

But what is embarrassing is that in 2019, Toyota's hydrogen energy vehicles and mirai cars sold a total of 2,407 units, while Tesla sold 367,800 units in 2019. The two are completely different.

In fact, Japan, which wanted to monopolize hydrogen energy patents, also saw the lethality of Tesla's open patented technology. The closure and openness of patented technology is nothing new in the scientific and technological circles. For example, Android has been reborn because of its openness. Apple has always closed the core of technology, that is, it cannot be surpassed.

Japan has encountered similar problems with hydrogen energy. Although, in 2015, Toyota announced that it had opened the right to use 5,680 fuel cell technology patents. Four years later, it announced the free opening of 23,740 patents related to core electrification technologies.

But it is too late, and the tide of new energy vehicles with lithium batteries as the core is surging. From the perspective of commercialization, Japan got up early, but missed the opportunity. This is why last year, Japanese companies withdrew from the field of hydrogen energy batteries one after another.

Please note that many people think that Japan is no longer interested in hydrogen energy or has pressed the pause button, which is actually a big mistake. They are just suspending hydrogen fuel cells, while they are continuing to make efforts in other areas of hydrogen energy utilization.

According to the latest news, a research team composed of Japan's \"New Energy Industry Technology Comprehensive Development Agency\" (NEDO), Tokyo Metropolitan University, Shinshu University, etc. uses the \"photocatalyst\" function that absorbs sunlight and causes chemical reactions of substances to decompose water into hydrogen. Technology research and development of substances used in oxygen. This experiment can safely separate about 94% of high-purity hydrogen from more than 70% of hydrogen produced.

Knock on the board! The successful separation of hydrogen in a large area of 100 square meters is the first in the world. The Japanese media used the word \"revolutionary\" to describe this technological breakthrough. In August this year, the experimental results were published in the international scientific journal \"Nature\".

In other words, even if Japanese companies have opened many patents, Chinese companies will most likely encounter stuck technology patent issues when developing and utilizing hydrogen energy. If you don't pay attention, it will trigger a series of patent litigation wars. There are many companies in the technology world that have been brought down by patents.

What is the difficulty?

Why should we take the news of Japan's world's first large-scale solar hydrogen production separately? The core reason is that many people often simply think of the use of hydrogen energy as an experiment to extract hydrogen and oxygen from water through a Kipp generator in middle school.

This is a type of hydrogen production, which is an ideal state of hydrogen production, also known as green hydrogen. Simply put, hydrogen is produced by electrolyzing water. It has the advantages of simple process and zero carbon emission. The disadvantage is,Scale is difficult and costly。

In fact, the current hydrogen production paths are mainly gray hydrogen, blue hydrogen, and green hydrogen. The hydrogen production method of green hydrogen is electrolysis of water to produce hydrogen. The hydrogen production technology of fossil energy hydrogen production and industrial by-product hydrogen is relatively mature, and the cost of hydrogen production is relatively low.

At present, China is the world's largest hydrogen producer, but the energy structure dominated by coal is difficult to change. Coal-to-hydrogen production is the lowest cost among all hydrogen methods, and chemical enterprises such as coke-to-gas, coal-to-oil, and coal chemicals produce a large amount of hydrogen.

Data show that China currently produces about 10 million tons of hydrogen from coal gasification, with a cost of 6-10 yuan/kg; Natural gas can produce more than 3 million tons of hydrogen, and the cost is about 13-23 yuan/kg; 3 million tons of hydrogen production from petroleum, with a cost of 18 yuan/kg; Industrial by-product hydrogen is about 8 million tons, with a cost of 10-16 yuan/kg; 1 million tons of hydrogen can be produced by electrolyzing water, and the cost is 19-80 yuan/kg.

However, in the electrolyzer in the hydrogen production process, the vehicle-mounted hydrogen tank in the hydrogen storage process, the hydrogen compressor and hydrogenation machine in the hydrogen refueling station process, the bipolar plate surface treatment and membrane electrode spraying equipment in the fuel cell process, and the fuel cell system testing and hydrogen quality testing all have many gaps with foreign countries.

For example, platinum, the main catalyst in hydrogen fuel cells, has high cost and low stability, which limits the mass production application of hydrogen energy. In addition, the investment in each hydrogen refueling station is between 1,500 yuan and 20 million yuan. To promote hydrogen energy vehicles, hydrogen refueling stations must be built on a large scale.

Who takes the money, who will build it, and who will maintain it are all problems.

The problem of technical stuck neck still needs to be solved. Most typically, the gas diffusion layer (GDL) of hydrogen fuel cells is not only the transportation channel for gas-phase reactants and liquid water, but also the conduction channel for heat and electrical energy generated after the reaction-Carbon fiber paper is the core technologyOne.
