we may be out of the pandemic and riding the big wave of sector rotation, but few of us predicted that Russia would invade Ukraine and turn the energy market and the stock markets upside down as well. But all this may well be to NIO (NYSE:NIO) stock’s advantage.Yes, NIO is trading near its 52-week lows and it may head a bit lower given all the craziness in the markets right now. But one thing is certain: rising energy prices are going to make EVs even more interesting to prospective buyers than they were a few months ago.The challenge has been deciding which EV makers to buy. I’m talking new EV makers here. Certainly, Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) remains a go-to electric vehicle (EV) stock for most investors wading into the sector. But for my dollar, there are some newcomers that are doing very well and are finally coming down to prices – and market caps – that make them slightly more attractive.NIO Stock Is Still Getting LoveI’ve written a fair amount of columns on EV stocks out there. And the one thing I have said for at least a year or more is that they were way too expensive. To me, the frenzied pace of buying anything that was shiny – meme stocks, crypto and stable coins, EVs, etc. – is a sure sign that the market is getting toppy. The trouble is, with new investors joining the frey, they don’t know that it takes a while to actually hit a top.Things get increasingly frothy until something materially changes. The good times were built off of the low-interest rate, low-growth economy we have been living in for 14 years now. And it wasn’t just the Federal Reserve. Central banks around the world were doing the same thing. That led Wall Street to figure out how to play the game to its advantage. And it did.But as things started to get overheated with all the pandemic stimulus money sloshing around, Wall Street knew the hot sectors with massive market caps and matching price-to-earnings (P/E) – if the stocks even had earnings for P/Es – was coming to an end.Real companies with real earnings were back. And so were bonds. Stocks are no longer the only game in town.Blue Sky ComingFor EV companies like NIO, that actually wasn’t such a bad thing. NIO has been making cars and selling them at a brisk clip. It delivered more than 91,000 vehicles last year. And recently, the second largest U.S. pension fund bought NIO stock. That isn’t an aggressive hedge fund or tech-focused mutual fund. It’s a conservative hedge fund with more than $325 billion in assets.Ironically, NIO vehicles aren’t even sold in the U.S. They’re a premium Chinese car company selling to the Chinese market, at least for now. By the way, its name translates to “blue sky coming,” which is pretty appropriate for where NIO stock is right now.The status of fancy European and U.S. cars won’t hold much cache as the Chinese auto industry introduces its own vehicles that have comparable fit, finish, build and performance qualities. What’s more, the Chinese government has a vested interest to see its burgeoning car makers succeed, especially the EVs.Good EV companies are now on the shopping list of funds and institutions that are looking for ESG stocks. And that will keep NIO stock on plenty of lists.A Bad Year Is Good NewsIn the past 12 months, NIO stock has lost almost 57%. It has lost 50% in the past three months.Granted, it still has a $34 billion market cap. And it may have further to fall. But at this point, it’s at a place where if you get in and it continues to lose ground, it will likely make it up in the next year or two. That may sound like a bold statement given the surprises we continue to live through. But if things stay relatively sane, NIO stock is a decent long-term holding at this point. But you still might want to buy in one piece at a time.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"NIO":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2825,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9097836110,"gmtCreate":1645405732487,"gmtModify":1676534024743,"author":{"id":"3552793013435190","authorId":"3552793013435190","name":"Apple888","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/3cd881eacfe2b6de7045a1744276477c","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3552793013435190","idStr":"3552793013435190"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[Miser] ","listText":"[Miser] ","text":"[Miser]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9097836110","repostId":"2212670139","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2212670139","kind":"highlight","pubTimestamp":1645401395,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2212670139?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-02-21 07:56","market":"us","language":"en","title":"5 Unexpected Sources of Retirement Income","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2212670139","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"Don't end up with less income than you need in retirement.","content":"<div>\n<p>When you're young, and need more income, you might take on an extra job, get a raise at work, or switch to a better-paying job. Your Health Savings AccountIf you have a high-deductible health insurance plan, you may be able to set up a Health Savings Account (HSA), which can help you pay for qualifying medical expenses on a pre-tax basis. That's great, and it will save you money, but there's even more to like about HSAs.A key feature of the HSA is that, unlike its cousin, the Flexible Spending Account (FSA), the money put into it isn't there on a use-it-or-lose-it basis. Whatever isn't spent on those qualifying expenses gets to stay and grow. Better still, it can be invested in stocks, too.But wait -- there's more! Once you turn 65, you can spend that money on anything. Any sums not spent on qualifying healthcare expenses will count as taxable income to you, just like withdrawals from a traditional IRA or 401(k) account. So an HSA account can serve as a good retirement savings account. Since retirees often face hefty healthcare expenses, you may end up spending much of the account on them anyway, saving on taxes in the process.2. DividendsYou might not think of dividends as an unexpected income source in retirement, but there's a good chance you're not taking them seriously enough. You may just be expecting a few hundred dollars here and there, at most. That's not how it has to be.If you have a portfolio with a bunch of healthy and growing dividend-paying stocks in it, you may be able to set yourself up for an income stream that rivals Social Security. For example, with a $500,000 portfolio that has an overall dividend yield of 4%, you can expect to receive $20,000 per year in dividends alone. Even better, the income will arrive without your having to sell any shares. You can hang on to the shares, and ideally, they will grow in value. Great dividend-payers tend to increase their payouts over time, too.For perspective, the average Social Security retirement benefit was recently $1,661 per month or about $20,000 per year.Image source: Getty Images.3. InterestInterest can be another powerful source of retirement income -- just not right now, as interest rates have been extremely low for many years. But inflation has been on the upswing, and the Federal Reserve has signaled that increases are on the way. If you have $100,000 in short-term investments and you're earning 1% interest on it these days, that's $1,000 in interest income. It's better than nothing, but it won't go far in retirement.Remember, though, that interest rates do fluctuate over time. Check out some historic prime rates in the table below:DatePrime RateAug. 1, 19482.00%Jan. 22, 19584.00%Dec. 18, 19686.75%Dec. 3, 19739.75%Dec. 26, 197811.75%April 2, 198020.00%Dec. 19, 198021.50%Nov. 28, 198810.50%July 2, 19926.00%May 17, 20009.50%June 27, 20034.00%Dec. 13, 20057.25%Oct. 29, 20084.00%March 15, 20203.25%Source: Fedprimerate.com.There are occasional periods when interest rates can be well into the double digits. If your $100,000 portfolio is earning 8% interest, that's $8,000 in annual income to you -- about $667 per month. That kind of income can go a long way toward paying for food, utilities, or travel in retirement. Depending on how high interest rates go in the coming years, interest may be an unexpected source of retirement income.4. A side jobI noted that in retirement, you might not be up to a regular side job, such as being a cashier in a store. But there are some kinds of side jobs that you may be able to take on, at least for a few years, which can bring some meaningful income into your household. For example, you may be able to give language or music lessons to kids or adults. If you charge $50 for a lesson and give six lessons per week, that's $300 in extra income for the week -- amounting to about $15,000 per year. You might make things to sell, such as sweaters or furniture, or you could take on some freelance work that you do at your computer such as writing, editing, or designing.5. Your houseYour home may provide another unexpected income stream if you rent out space in it through services such as Airbnb or Expedia's service VRBO. If you spend a week or several weeks at a time visiting friends or family, your home might be available to rent for several long stretches. Depending on the accommodations you can offer and your home's location, you may be able to net around $100 to $200 per night or more, so renting out your space for 14 nights per year could generate $1,400 to $2,800 per year.Depending on your circumstances, you might even take in a boarder for a while. If you charge $600 per month for a bedroom and kitchen privileges, you could generate $7,200 per year (pre-tax).Another way to wring money out of your home is a reverse mortgage. It won't work for everyone, and it doesn't make sense for everyone, either. However, it's a valuable solution for some retirees when more income is needed. It involves borrowing money using your home as collateral and receiving regular payments based on its value. The loan doesn't have to be repaid until you no longer live in the home, such as when you die or move into a retirement home or care facility. There are various pros and cons to consider, so read up on reverse mortgages if you're interested.A little digging around online may turn up some more sources of income, but one or more of these five ideas could serve you well in the future.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"HSA":1}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2404,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9097396351,"gmtCreate":1645327467229,"gmtModify":1676534019203,"author":{"id":"3552793013435190","authorId":"3552793013435190","name":"Apple888","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/3cd881eacfe2b6de7045a1744276477c","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3552793013435190","idStr":"3552793013435190"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[Miser] ","listText":"[Miser] ","text":"[Miser]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9097396351","repostId":"1124213181","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1124213181","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Stock Market Quotes, Business News, Financial News, Trading Ideas, and Stock Research by Professionals","home_visible":0,"media_name":"Benzinga","id":"1052270027","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/d08bf7808052c0ca9deb4e944cae32aa"},"pubTimestamp":1645325264,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1124213181?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-02-20 10:47","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Ford Reportedly Plans To Separate Its EV Business: Here's Why","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1124213181","media":"Benzinga","summary":"Ford Motor Company's(NYSE:F) CEO Jim Farley acknowledged on the company's fourth-quarter earnings ca","content":"<html><head></head><body><p><b>Ford Motor Company's</b>(NYSE:F) CEO <b>Jim Farley</b> acknowledged on the company's fourth-quarter earnings call that running an ICE business and a EV business are not the same.</p><p>The Ford CEO did not explicitly mention a separation or spin-off, but reports suggest that the company could be toying with those options.</p><p><b>What Happened:</b>Ford is exploring a way to separate its legacy auto and EV businesses in a bid to unlock value of the latter, Bloomberg reported. On the way up it stutter-stepped around $240 per share. But on the way down it sliced through it like butter. It’s been straight downhill on the weekly charts. At its lows on Jan. 24, SE had lost 67% of its value. The level where it found support makes technical sense, because it was a resting platform in the summer of 2020. Similarly, the rally back also faced resistance from a pivotal zone near $195 per share. I bet that stands as resistance for a while, so investors need to be realistic with their expectations. The pandemic rally was something unusual and a once-in-a-lifetime event. There will be lingering resistance above as a results.Hopefully investors have not forgotten a their basic rules of investing. What happened in the 2020 aftermath on Wall Street is not what will continue to happen. The pendulum swung too far up, and now it’s going back the other way. It would be a miracle if SE stock could hold its January bottom. But that would enable the bulls to chip away at resistances above. There will likely be sellers lurking through $176 per share. So and for the meantime, the stock will ping pong inside a narrower range.Trading SE Stock Requires SkillSource: Charts by TradingViewThe traders among us can trade around short term support and resistances. But for the next few weeks, it is important for SE that the Wall Street jitters end. I doubt that it can rally while the markets are correcting. Therefore, investors need to be cautious and set stops below $120 per share.Even though the stock has fallen so much already, there’s plenty of space to fall further. Remember that the May 2020 breakout line was at $55 per share. If I own already it, I would consider protecting it using options. There are strategies there like selling covered calls and buying puts that could help. Investigate these opportunity thoroughly before implementing. From an investment perspective, I see no rush to jump into a full position yet. Taking starter shares is fine, but leaving room for error is imperative. From a trading perspective, it is a viable thesis to take longs with a tight stop. But it takes discipline to be able to stick to those stops and book profits. Moreover and in lieu of buying shares, I prefer selling puts on bad days. For example yesterday, I could have collected a decent premium for promising to buy shares at $85 per share. My breakeven point for those could be under $82. Selling puts does not guarantee me shares, but worst case I earn income out of thin air.Financial Metrics Are BulletproofThe fundamentals almost don’t matter because not many investors are listening. Especially when the profit-and-loss statement is as young as this one. However, the financial metrics for SE stock are impressive. Total revenues last year were almost double of 2020, which were double 2019. Looking back four years, management has done that sequentially. These are special circumstances that don’t happen often yet it’s giving the stock no credit.Out of the pandemic these were the stocks that everyone wanted. Now they are all toxic regardless of the financial metrics they display. The company is expanding at an exponential rate, yet they still carry a hefty $2 billion net loss. But if you consider the rate at which it grows, it is not expensive. For hyper-growing companies like this, the price-to-sales metric is the best gauge of value. In this case it is under 10, which puts it at a reasonable footing with the likes of FANG gang. For now, investors should resist the temptation of adding to current risk. Averaging down is a horrible idea, but averaging in makes total sense. If I already took a full position, I should just accept it and not make my problem bigger. But those who took partial positions to start can add at lower prices.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"SE":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2680,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9094594676,"gmtCreate":1645174263622,"gmtModify":1676534005829,"author":{"id":"3552793013435190","authorId":"3552793013435190","name":"Apple888","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/3cd881eacfe2b6de7045a1744276477c","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3552793013435190","idStr":"3552793013435190"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[Miser] ","listText":"[Miser] ","text":"[Miser]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9094594676","repostId":"1122983415","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1122983415","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1645172812,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1122983415?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-02-18 16:26","market":"us","language":"en","title":"GameStop Stock: NFT Marketplace Could Be A Super Bullish Catalyst","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1122983415","media":"TheStreet","summary":"GameStop’s NFT marketplace will launch soon according to Robbie Ferguson, co-founder of Immutable X,","content":"<html><head></head><body><p>GameStop’s NFT marketplace will launch soon according to Robbie Ferguson, co-founder of Immutable X, the company that will be responsible for the platform's technology.</p><p>After conversations with several members of GameStop’s (<b>GME</b>) C-suite, including Chairman Ryan Cohen, blockchain game development company Immutable X promises that great things are to come for GameStop.
