$Western Digital(WDC)$ The market punished WDC as if Toshiba could suddenly flood the HDD market, but Toshiba is starting from a much smaller base and WDC has advantages Toshiba doesn't have, including its own media/head capabilities and a large installed customer base. I'm leaning bullish here.
$Western Digital(WDC)$ I don't see how WDC is impacted by whatever is going on with Toshiba and Seagate. At this point, buying the dips and waiting for the market to realize the sell-off is overdone seems like the only move.
$Western Digital(WDC)$ This overreaction to Toshiba looks ridiculous. It will take them over a year to double up their production, and by that time WDC will be at 500 to 600. Thanks for the cheap shares again.
Panic selling $Western Digital(WDC)$ over Toshiba seems silly. Toshiba has under 10% share and no vertical supply, so they're still 2-3 years away from being a real competitor, while AI data center demand is already clearing out WDC's shelves.
$Western Digital(WDC)$ Looks like someone is playing games again. I loaded up heavily under $400 before, and I would do the same again. Wall Street apparently enjoys giving money away and making people wealthier. I'm all for it. Keep those questionable Toshiba articles coming, and I'll keep picking up 800-1000 shares at a time under $400 on WDC.
$Western Digital(WDC)$ The market overreacting? No way. But the price is the price, and that's all that matters... sigh. We'll see if it recovers. I'm not selling here.
$Western Digital(WDC)$ Yeah, I think this keeps recovering going forward. Would like to see 460, but we shall see. Obviously depends on the wider market playing ball.
$Western Digital(WDC)$ I get the feeling WDC could bounce back on the Toshiba news, especially if they come out and say they're ramping up production too.
$Seagate Technology PLC(STX)$ $Western Digital(WDC)$ Bernstein thinks the market got Toshiba's comments wrong. Toshiba's press release said it's aiming to nearly double production capacity by fiscal 2027, which ends March 2028, not double hard disk drive capacity right away. If Toshiba doubles exabyte output while Western Digital and Seagate each grow exabyte by 25%, in line with their long-term plans, Toshiba's exabyte share would go from 11.2% to 16.8%. Bernstein notes a 5.6% increase in market share isn't that alarming and nowhere near the 30% market share reported in the press. They see the news as a storm in a teacup and would look to buy Seagate and Western Di
$Western Digital(WDC)$ I like buying into fear. Did the same thing when they were saying AI development should slow down. Made a lot off calls. Did the same thing here last Friday, easy.
