I did not expect in any way the stock going up so fast.”</p><p><b>The Bed Bath &amp; Beyond Investor&#39;s Plan:</b> In a July 21 letter to Bed Bath &amp; Beyond, the younger Freeman outlined Freeman Capital’s plan for the realignment of the retailer, which consisted of two crucial legs: cutting debt and raising capital.</p><p>Fast forward just four weeks later, coupled with a carefully orchestrated short squeeze by Reddit&#39;s WallStreetBets community known as the &#34;Apes,&#34; shares of Bed Bath rocketed to $28.60 at the highs on Tuesday — the same day Freeman Capital exited its entire stake in the company.</p><p>Curiously, on the same day, <b>GameStop Corp.</b> Chairman <b>Ryan Cohen</b>, who sparked the Bed Bath &amp; Beyond fanfare with the Apes, filed with the SEC saying he intended to sell as many as 9.45 million shares of the company beginning that day.</p><p>The Freeman Family Fund&#39;s sale was well-timed. It closed at more than $130 million after spending $25 million in the initial investment, netting around $105-$110 million, or between 420%-460%.</p><p><b>MindMed Shares Skyrocket:</b> Jake, who previously interned at Volaris Capital Management invests with his uncle Scott, who is the co-founder and former chief medical officer of <b>Mind Medicine (MindMed) Inc</b>. MindMed shares rocketed 77.4% from the previous day&#39;s highs on Thursday after the Bed Bath &amp; Beyond sale was disclosed.</p><p>The investor focus is now on MindMed, which was originally a privately owned company, Savant, co-founded Scott.</p><p>The Freemans have built a 5.6% stake in the company and sent a strategic value enhancement plan to MindMed, outlining the fund&#39;s interest in working &#34;hand-in-hand&#34; to cut the development time of MindMed&#39;s two original drugs and slash its annual cash-burn rate.</p><p>Analyzing the letter, which the younger Freeman confirmed to Benzinga, FCM is focusing on MindMed&#39;s core drugs, cutting cash burn and terminating MindMed&#39;s at-the-money equity offering.</p><p>“I’ve been in drug development since I was in high school,” Scott said in an Aug. 16 interview on the YouTube channel Psychedelic Invest.</p><p>“About 13 years ago I partnered with <b>Stephen Hurst</b> and we founded a company called Savant.It was a private company working on drugs to treat addiction.”</p><p>After MindMed bought Savant, where he was previously CMO, Scott became the company&#39;s first CMO. He left the organization around a year after he arrived, making him the first senior member of the team to do so.</p><p>Benzinga asked the younger Freeman why Scott left the company; he said he could not divulge the reason for Freeman’s departure due to a non-disclosure agreement.</p><p>“As a co-founder,” Scott said in the aforementioned interview. “I’ve been sitting on the sidelines watching, and one of the reasons why I want to go back is that I think there are things that I think need to be done differently.”</p><p>In the letter to MindMed, the pair call for an overhaul of the company, including cutting 11 of its 22 employees; the elimination of more than $21.8 million in non-core expenditures; and half of its cash burn rate over time.</p><p>It also calls for the immediate development of a proposal to approach the FDA to upgrade its MM-120 drug from a Phase 2 trial to a Phase 3 trial, which the Freemans said could bring the drug to market in four years rather than the expected seven to eight years.</p><p>The enhancement plan calls for a 50% reduction in executive compensation as well.</p><p><b>BBBY, MNMD Price Action:</b> Bed Bath &amp; Beyond shares closed lower 19.63% at $18.55 on Thursday. Freeman spent about $25 million on his stake, or less than $5.50 a share, and sold it for north of $130 million on Tuesday, the Financial Times reported.</p><p>&#34;I certainly did not expect such a vicious rally upwards,&#34; Freeman told the newspaper. &#34;I thought this was going to be a six-months-plus play,&#34; he continued, adding that he was &#34;really shocked that it went up so fast.&#34;</p><p>Freeman is an applied math and economics major at the University of Southern California, and co-published a paper titled &#34;Irreducible Risks of Hedging a Bond with a Default Swap&#34; at the age of 16. He told the FT that he has invested alongside his uncle for years, previously interned at a hedge fund named Volaris Capital, and mostly raised the money for his Bed Bath &amp; Beyond bet from friends and family.</p><p>He appears to have lucked out with the timing of his sale. Bed Bath &amp; Beyond stock fell as much as 19% on Wednesday after the retailer&#39;s largest shareholder and GameStop&#39;s chairman, Ryan Cohen, disclosed he intended to dump his entire 12% position in the company.</p><p>Bed Bath &amp; Beyond shares had spiked on Tuesday after Cohen confirmed he still held bullish call options on the stock. (NYSE:PLTR) stock has been one of the best trading stocks you can ask for. It moves with extreme swings higher and lower, our traders have made a bundle, especially by selling premium (i.e., puts and calls). We have stood behind the technology as a gamechanger. This is truly an innovative and disruptive company that has massive reach to both the commercial and government sectors.</p><p>The company is operating in the most important currency of our lifetimes: big data. And while the company innovates, and helps its clients understand data and make decisions, as an investment this has been complete trash, really an utter disaster. That may not be a technical finance term in the literature, but it is a term you hear often at hedge funds and trading floors. Frankly, while we believe in the ability of the company to deliver long-term, and we own some of it, it has been an utter disaster for longs that are not trading in and out. While we are up off the bottom, there are still so many retail &#34;bag-holders&#34; out there.</p><p><b>Trading not investing</b></p><p>The only ones making money in this stock are trading in and out. You can make good money holding a core investment and selling calls, or even selling puts, due to the volatility. Those who scalp nickels and dimes are doing well. Those who are caught near the bottom are hit hard. But investing here requires extreme patience, and frankly, while we get the win on the trades over and over, we recognize that investors are getting slammed here.</p><p><b>Pressure mounts</b></p><p>Unfortunately, despite a market rally, this remains a trader&#39;s market right now, and we think that is the best way to handle Palantir for now. That said, we think you can hold a small core position for the long-term, but with all of the issues facing the company from dilution to a questionable management team, the economic picture has been poor for the company, making matters worse. Governments are spending less. Businesses are tightening up. While we think you can see business recognize the money saving potential of decision making algorithms, company capex on things like this tends to get cut first when businesses tighten their belt. This is a near-term issue, while things like dilution are longer-term. The thing is, we think you should trade this name. We hate to see investors lose money, and we know it can be painful, but it&#39;s been complete trash, in our humble opinion. Is all hope lost here?</p><p><b>Companies like Palantir tend to be expensive before they finally sustain earnings</b></p><p>Companies like Palantir are indeed often extremely expensive in the early stages. Granted, this company has been around for a long time, but is newly public, barely two years old here public. You really cannot value them on an earnings basis because there are no or very little earnings often as they ramp up. Palantir, as we mentioned has that massive dilution problem, which means consistent positive EPS gets kicked further down the road. We think Palantir has a lot of potential, but this market is beyond unforgiving to those companies that do not make money or have sky high valuations. The last few weeks have seen a huge tech rally, and Palantir stock began to see a big bid up, until this week.</p><p><b>Little faith in Palantir</b></p><p>Investors are now starting to see that Palantir may lose money or breakeven for years. Of course, the theory goes that companies like this will lose money as they spend to attract customers and build their moat. They invest heavily in their growth while seeing revenues increase dramatically. And as we know, Palantir is seeing revenues grow tremendously, but even that pace of growth is slowing, and that is a huge risk. If you believe in the tech (we do) you can add selectively to a well-rounded portfolio to improve cost basis, and put faith in management that it can deliver on growing the business profitably without diluting shareholders into oblivion, but it may take years to get a return. It is just easier to make 5,6,7, even 10% on this name by trading over and over. Investing requires patience and belief that things will improve. Right now, this is a tall order for this company and management. There is no, or very little faith.</p><p>While operationally the company is growing sufficiently, management has some credibility issues. What one has to do is determine if what the company offers will solve enough headaches for customers that eventually the growing sales turn into sustained and growing profits. However, the most recent quarter was also &#34;trash,&#34; as we say.</p><p><b>Headline earnings figures mixed</b></p><p>In the just-reported quarter, performance was pretty mixed on the top and bottom lines with revenue just a touch ahead of consensus estimates, and earnings missing horribly. Total revenue grew 25.9% year-over-year to $473.0 million, beating estimates by just over $1 million. However, its profitability was lower than expected by $0.04, and worse, guidance was far less than consensus. That crushed the stock&#39;s momentum that it had going for it. Now revenues are only growing in the 20% range, versus 30+. Ouch. Further, most expected the company to make a tiny profit this quarter, and instead it lost money. Ouch.</p><p><b>Palantir&#39;s Government and Commercial sectors both showing growth</b></p><p>As you likely are aware, Palantir has two reporting segments: both the government and commercial segments. The commercial revenue stream continues to grow rapidly, while government results seem to be slowing. There is a ton of disagreement out there on whether the somewhat shaky economy will help or hurt, but we think it definitely slows both sectors, especially government.</p><p>Deceleration of revenue growth is definitely a negative for a company like this that does not enjoy high earnings. The revenues did rise 26% from last year, and the company&#39;s customer count increased to 304, up from 169 a year ago, but sequentially customer growth seems to be slowing. Palantir added 27 net new customers in the second quarter, with 19 net new commercial customers. We think it is important to note that the commercial space is doing well. The commercial revenue is expanding rapidly, increasing 132% in 2021, and here in Q2, it rose 46% year-over-year. That said, each earnings report it seems the year-over-year growth is a little less. Not great.</p><p>The government business growth has just stalled. Here government revenue expanded to $263 million in revenue in Q2, rising 9% quarter-over-quarter. One positive is that health care (both in government and also commercial) has become a substantial and rapidly growing business, generating approximately $153 million in revenue in the first half of 2022, up from $42 million in the first half of 2020. Decent growth.</p><p><b>Margins show good news</b></p><p>For as much as the company seemed to have whiffed, there has been pockets of good news. Palantir is seeing very positive momentum in its margins. Positive movement in margins is important in a software company as it really highlights strengths, or weaknesses, in the way it distributes its products. Palantir is delivering here. Adjusted gross margin, (these are the margins which excludes the horrible dilutive stock-based compensation expenses) was 81%. The adjusted income from operations, excluding stock-based compensation and related employer payroll taxes, was $108 million, representing adjusted operating margin of 23% ahead of management&#39;s prior guidance of 20%.</p><p>Palantir expenses are on the rise but cash flow is positive.</p><p>While margins were solid, adjusted expenses are on the rise. Expenses were $365 million, up 11% sequentially. With the revenue number and higher expenses however, despite margins, led to a loss in the quarter. As mentioned adjusted earnings per share was a loss of $0.01. Some of this was that there was a $0.05 impact driven primarily by losses on securities held.</p><p>The company also generated $62 million in cash from operations, and the adjusted free cash flow was $61 million. That was the seventh consecutive quarter of positive free cash flow. Over the last year Palantir generated $314 million in adjusted free cash flow. The balance sheet is anything but trash. The company still has a solid $2.4 billion in cash and cash equivalents and absolutely no debt. Now that said, the company did decide a few weeks ago to expand its revolving credit facility by adding a $450 million new incremental delayed draw term loan facility. Long story short, the company has liquidity if needed. Overall, they have an additional liquidity source up to $950 million and it remains entirely undrawn.</p><p>The reason we explain that is this company is in no danger of any sort of bankruptcies. The investment might be horrible as sustained positive EPS remains elusive, but the balance sheet is nice.</p><p><b>Palantir stock valuation</b></p><p>When we look at the valuation of Palantir stock, the bottom line is the stock is expensive to own. Sure, looking at traditional price-to-earnings is futile, but if you did you would see a stock at like 170X FWD EPS. Very pricey. Perhaps the more appropriate measure is the price-to-sales ratio, but not only is this still very high, the market has basically said it is no longer willing to pay for sky high multiples here in 2022. Keep that in mind. At 10.4X sales, the stock is relatively cheaper than it has ever been, but it is still not &#34;cheap&#34; by any stretch at all. We like the cash flow metrics, though the price to cash flow is still about 70X.</p><p><b>Guidance was more than disappointing</b></p><p>The biggest concern right now is not valuation, or the Q2 earnings results. Nor is it the fact that the stock has been a trash investment. The biggest issue right now is also not the never ending dilution (which stinks). It is not the broader market risk either. The largest issue is a slowdown in performance, the slowing growth of revenues, and continued reduced guidance including here in Q3. The Q3 guidance was pretty weak. For Q3 2022, the company &#34;expects revenue of between $474 million to $475 million&#34; which was way below consensus of $505 million. For the year, we are looking at nearly 5% lower revenues than expected. Ouch. For the year management guided &#34;revenue of $1.9 billion&#34; vs. consensus of $1.98 billion. Adjusted income from operations should be $341 million to $343 million.</p><p>So, what is our take?</p><p>We would be selling calls here on the next pop. The volatility is high here and premiums are hefty. On the next big downturn, sell puts a month or two out and out of the money. If assigned, turn right around and sell calls. Trade around the position. Palantir&#39;s growth is slowly fading, though still strong. We also think profitability is elusive. Dilution could continue so long that positive EPS becomes out of reach without future buybacks. Stick to trading the name, or buy a few shares and come back in 10 years.</p><p><b>Take home</b></p><p>We love that the company operates with no debt and has nice positive free cash flow. The company offers amazing solutions for government and businesses by using big data and using analytics to improve operations. But, investments in the stock have been trashed. Traders have won over and over again. While growth will continue, and the balance sheet is solid, we have to keep an eye on the pace of customer growth and contract values. (NYSE:PLTR) stock has been one of the best trading stocks you can ask for. It moves with extreme swings higher and lower, our traders have made a bundle, especially by selling premium (i.e., puts and calls). We have stood behind the technology as a gamechanger. This is truly an innovative and disruptive company that has massive reach to both the commercial and government sectors.The company is operating in the most important currency of our lifetimes: big data. And while the company innovates, and helps its clients understand data and make decisions, as an investment this has been complete trash, really an utter disaster. That may not be a technical finance term in the literature, but it is a term you hear often at hedge funds and trading floors. Frankly, while we believe in the ability of the company to deliver long-term, and we own some of it, it has been an utter disaster for longs that are not trading in and out. While we are up off the bottom, there are still so many retail \"bag-holders\" out there.Trading not investingThe only ones making money in this stock are trading in and out. You can make good money holding a core investment and selling calls, or even selling puts, due to the volatility. Those who scalp nickels and dimes are doing well. Those who are caught near the bottom are hit hard. But investing here requires extreme patience, and frankly, while we get the win on the trades over and over, we recognize that investors are getting slammed here.Pressure mountsUnfortunately, despite a market rally, this remains a trader's market right now, and we think that is the best way to handle Palantir for now. That said, we think you can hold a small core position for the long-term, but with all of the issues facing the company from dilution to a questionable management team, the economic picture has been poor for the company, making matters worse. Governments are spending less. Businesses are tightening up. While we think you can see business recognize the money saving potential of decision making algorithms, company capex on things like this tends to get cut first when businesses tighten their belt. This is a near-term issue, while things like dilution are longer-term. The thing is, we think you should trade this name. We hate to see investors lose money, and we know it can be painful, but it's been complete trash, in our humble opinion. Is all hope lost here?Companies like Palantir tend to be expensive before they finally sustain earningsCompanies like Palantir are indeed often extremely expensive in the early stages. Granted, this company has been around for a long time, but is newly public, barely two years old here public. You really cannot value them on an earnings basis because there are no or very little earnings often as they ramp up. Palantir, as we mentioned has that massive dilution problem, which means consistent positive EPS gets kicked further down the road. We think Palantir has a lot of potential, but this market is beyond unforgiving to those companies that do not make money or have sky high valuations. The last few weeks have seen a huge tech rally, and Palantir stock began to see a big bid up, until this week.Little faith in PalantirInvestors are now starting to see that Palantir may lose money or breakeven for years. Of course, the theory goes that companies like this will lose money as they spend to attract customers and build their moat. They invest heavily in their growth while seeing revenues increase dramatically. And as we know, Palantir is seeing revenues grow tremendously, but even that pace of growth is slowing, and that is a huge risk. If you believe in the tech (we do) you can add selectively to a well-rounded portfolio to improve cost basis, and put faith in management that it can deliver on growing the business profitably without diluting shareholders into oblivion, but it may take years to get a return. It is just easier to make 5,6,7, even 10% on this name by trading over and over. Investing requires patience and belief that things will improve. Right now, this is a tall order for this company and management. There is no, or very little faith.While operationally the company is growing sufficiently, management has some credibility issues. What one has to do is determine if what the company offers will solve enough headaches for customers that eventually the growing sales turn into sustained and growing profits. However, the most recent quarter was also \"trash,\" as we say.Headline earnings figures mixedIn the just-reported quarter, performance was pretty mixed on the top and bottom lines with revenue just a touch ahead of consensus estimates, and earnings missing horribly. Total revenue grew 25.9% year-over-year to $473.0 million, beating estimates by just over $1 million. However, its profitability was lower than expected by $0.04, and worse, guidance was far less than consensus. That crushed the stock's momentum that it had going for it. Now revenues are only growing in the 20% range, versus 30+. Ouch. Further, most expected the company to make a tiny profit this quarter, and instead it lost money. Ouch.Palantir's Government and Commercial sectors both showing growthAs you likely are aware, Palantir has two reporting segments: both the government and commercial segments. The commercial revenue stream continues to grow rapidly, while government results seem to be slowing. There is a ton of disagreement out there on whether the somewhat shaky economy will help or hurt, but we think it definitely slows both sectors, especially government.Deceleration of revenue growth is definitely a negative for a company like this that does not enjoy high earnings. The revenues did rise 26% from last year, and the company's customer count increased to 304, up from 169 a year ago, but sequentially customer growth seems to be slowing. Palantir added 27 net new customers in the second quarter, with 19 net new commercial customers. We think it is important to note that the commercial space is doing well. The commercial revenue is expanding rapidly, increasing 132% in 2021, and here in Q2, it rose 46% year-over-year. That said, each earnings report it seems the year-over-year growth is a little less. Not great.The government business growth has just stalled. Here government revenue expanded to $263 million in revenue in Q2, rising 9% quarter-over-quarter. One positive is that health care (both in government and also commercial) has become a substantial and rapidly growing business, generating approximately $153 million in revenue in the first half of 2022, up from $42 million in the first half of 2020. Decent growth.Margins show good newsFor as much as the company seemed to have whiffed, there has been pockets of good news. Palantir is seeing very positive momentum in its margins. Positive movement in margins is important in a software company as it really highlights strengths, or weaknesses, in the way it distributes its products. Palantir is delivering here. Adjusted gross margin, (these are the margins which excludes the horrible dilutive stock-based compensation expenses) was 81%. The adjusted income from operations, excluding stock-based compensation and related employer payroll taxes, was $108 million, representing adjusted operating margin of 23% ahead of management's prior guidance of 20%.Palantir expenses are on the rise but cash flow is positive.While margins were solid, adjusted expenses are on the rise. Expenses were $365 million, up 11% sequentially. With the revenue number and higher expenses however, despite margins, led to a loss in the quarter. As mentioned adjusted earnings per share was a loss of $0.01. Some of this was that there was a $0.05 impact driven primarily by losses on securities held.The company also generated $62 million in cash from operations, and the adjusted free cash flow was $61 million. That was the seventh consecutive quarter of positive free cash flow. Over the last year Palantir generated $314 million in adjusted free cash flow. The balance sheet is anything but trash. The company still has a solid $2.4 billion in cash and cash equivalents and absolutely no debt. Now that said, the company did decide a few weeks ago to expand its revolving credit facility by adding a $450 million new incremental delayed draw term loan facility. Long story short, the company has liquidity if needed. Overall, they have an additional liquidity source up to $950 million and it remains entirely undrawn.The reason we explain that is this company is in no danger of any sort of bankruptcies. The investment might be horrible as sustained positive EPS remains elusive, but the balance sheet is nice.Palantir stock valuationWhen we look at the valuation of Palantir stock, the bottom line is the stock is expensive to own. Sure, looking at traditional price-to-earnings is futile, but if you did you would see a stock at like 170X FWD EPS. Very pricey. Perhaps the more appropriate measure is the price-to-sales ratio, but not only is this still very high, the market has basically said it is no longer willing to pay for sky high multiples here in 2022. Keep that in mind. At 10.4X sales, the stock is relatively cheaper than it has ever been, but it is still not \"cheap\" by any stretch at all. We like the cash flow metrics, though the price to cash flow is still about 70X.Guidance was more than disappointingThe biggest concern right now is not valuation, or the Q2 earnings results. Nor is it the fact that the stock has been a trash investment. The biggest issue right now is also not the never ending dilution (which stinks). It is not the broader market risk either. The largest issue is a slowdown in performance, the slowing growth of revenues, and continued reduced guidance including here in Q3. The Q3 guidance was pretty weak. For Q3 2022, the company \"expects revenue of between $474 million to $475 million\" which was way below consensus of $505 million. For the year, we are looking at nearly 5% lower revenues than expected. Ouch. For the year management guided \"revenue of $1.9 billion\" vs. consensus of $1.98 billion. Adjusted income from operations should be $341 million to $343 million.So, what is our take?We would be selling calls here on the next pop. The volatility is high here and premiums are hefty. On the next big downturn, sell puts a month or two out and out of the money. If assigned, turn right around and sell calls. Trade around the position. Palantir's growth is slowly fading, though still strong. We also think profitability is elusive. Dilution could continue so long that positive EPS becomes out of reach without future buybacks. Stick to trading the name, or buy a few shares and come back in 10 years.Take homeWe love that the company operates with no debt and has nice positive free cash flow. The company offers amazing solutions for government and businesses by using big data and using analytics to improve operations. But, investments in the stock have been trashed. Traders have won over and over again. While growth will continue, and the balance sheet is solid, we have to keep an eye on the pace of customer growth and contract values. Though Amazon is best known for its e-commerce operation, the company also owns Amazon Web Services (AWS), a leading cloud infrastructure service; it produces gadgets like e-readers, tablets and voice-activated devices; it runs a video streaming service; it's become a heavyweight in logistics, and it even owns Whole Foods.Amazon seeks to disrupt any industry where it can add value by prioritizing customers and for years, it has eyed the $800 billion healthcare industry. In 2018, it paid nearly $1 billion to acquire online pharmacy PillPack, and since then, it has opened virtual Amazon Care clinics. In 2018, it also formed a joint venture called Haven, with Berkshire Hathaway and JPMorgan Chase to tackle the exorbitant healthcare costs, but the initiative failed and has been closed.Now, Amazon is taking its biggest step yet into the healthcare industry with its $3.9 billion (including debt) all-cash takeover of 1Life Healthcare, known by consumers as One Medical. On Thursday, Amazon announced its plans to pay $18 a share for the health tech company, a premium of 77% over its closing price yesterday, showing serious interest in getting the deal done. Amazon's stock did not react much to the development. 1Life shares surged nearly 70%  on the news.Image source: Amazon.Amazon gets serious about healthcareOne Medical calls itself a \"human-centered, technology-powered U.S. primary care organization.\" It offers both in-person and virtual care, seeking to make healthcare more affordable, accessible, and enjoyable.The company was founded in 2002  and finished its most recent quarter with 767,000 members, a 28% increase from the prior year.  For 2022, it expects revenue of $831 million to $853 million, and an adjusted EBITDA loss of $130 million to $150 million.It's not clear what Amazon intends to do with One Medical -- if it will fold it into the Amazon Care brand, or have it continue to operate separately -- but the press release explained why Amazon finds One Medical attractive.Neil Lindsay, SVP of Amazon Health Services said the company believes healthcare is in need of reinvention, saying, \"We see lots of opportunity to both improve the quality of the experience and give people back valuable time in their days.\" He added, \"Together with One Medical's human-centered and technology-powered approach to healthcare, we believe we can and will help more people get better care, when and how they need it. We look forward to delivering on that long-term mission.\" Human-centered and tech-powered sounds a lot like how Amazon would describe its approach to business.Amazon did say that Amir Dan Rubin will stay on as CEO of One Medical.Should you buy Amazon stock now?There's no doubt that the healthcare market presents a mouthwatering opportunity for Amazon. It's a giant industry, one of the few big enough to move the needle for Amazon, and it's been highly profitable for established incumbents. The industry is also notorious for opaque pricing and providing terrible patient experiences. In other words, many Americans would be happy to see Amazon step in with its reputation for customer service and willingness to take risks.However, the acquisition of One Medical isn't a guarantee of Amazon's success in healthcare. Its track record with acquisitions has been mixed. When Amazon bought Whole Foods, supermarket stocks plunged on the news, but in the five years since the acquisition, Amazon has struggled to increase Whole Foods' market share. In healthcare, Amazon still seems far from being a true disruptor. The PillPack acquisition hasn't made Amazon a force in the pharmacy business, and its telehealth venture has yet to catch fire. Haven, the joint venture, was a notable flop.Amazon tends to acquire companies in order to enter a market after it tries and struggles to go it alone. That doesn't mean the One Medical deal is a bad move. In fact, it shows Amazon is more serious than ever about making a play for the healthcare market, which is good news for Amazon investors hoping for new growth avenues. But it's too soon to judge whether the acquisition will ultimately pay off, especially as Amazon hasn't commented on any specific strategic initiatives related to the deal.Looking at the big picture, the move is a reminder of why Amazon stock has dominated over the decades. The company is unafraid to tackle new industries and has consistently leveraged its reputation for customer service and its Prime membership program to successfully enter new categories. Amazon Prime gives the company a direct relationship with more than 200 million households globally and it's easy to see how that advantage can drive its growth in healthcare.Today, the best reason to buy Amazon may be its cheap stock price as shares have pulled back sharply this year. Its history of growth and ramping profit margins thanks to AWS doesn't hurt either. And to prove why, we’ve compiled 10 of the most compelling datapoints underscoring the start of a new bull market.Those datapoints are as follows:The economy is rapidly slowing. The economy got too hot in 2021. That’s partly why tech stocks have been crushed in 2022. When the economy gets too hot, the Federal Reserve steps in to put the brakes on expansion through rising rates. Higher rates lead to lower valuations and lower tech stock prices. But amid geopolitical chaos and higher interest rates over the past few months, the U.S. economy has rapidly slowed. Job growth has braked to its slowest pace since the pandemic emerged. It’s the same with consumer sentiment, existing home sales and pretty much every economic datapoint out there. The U.S. economy is slowing rapidly.Inflation has peaked. For the first time since late 2020 — or since the economy has been going through its COVID normalization phase — U.S. inflation rates are dropping. In April, the two preferred measures of inflation, CPI and PCE, both decelerated on a year-over-year basis. With the economy quickly slowing and supply chains swiftly improving, inflation will keep falling over the next few months.A Dovish Federal Reserve and Topped-Out YieldsThe Fed will turn dovish. Thanks to a slowing economy and cooling inflation, the once super-hawkish institution will start to turn dovish. Over the past two weeks, three Fed voting members said it may be appropriate to reconsider the pace of rate hikes after July. That opens the door for a potential dovish pivot in Fed policy later in the year, which we think will happen. If it does, then that will set stocks up for huge gains through the end of the year and into 2023. Just look at the last time the central bank made a dovish pivot after a series of rate hikes.Treasury yields are topping out. The math strongly supports the idea that if the Fed remains within the guardrails of seven to 11 rate hikes in 2022, Treasury yields have peaked and will move lower in the second half of 2022. Recent commentary strongly implies that the Fed will remain within those guardrails. As such, we continue to believe yields will move lower going forward, providing support for multiple expansion in tech stocks.Tech Stock Rallies and Insider Buying SpreesWe’re seeing breadth indicators flashing super bullish signals across the tech sector right now. This week, the number of Nasdaq 100 stocks trading above their 200-day moving average crossed from below to above 20%. That’s a bullish breadth crossover signal that always leads to big rallies. Since 2008, this signal has led to positive tech stock returns over the following 60 days 100% of the time. The average return in that stretch? 15%.Source: BloombergInsiders are buying the dip at a volume historically consistent with market bottoms. They’re the folks who know the most about the companies in the market. Over the past two weeks, corporate insiders have gone on a huge buying spree. In fact, insider buying has spiked to two-year highs over the past two weeks. That’s bullish because these insiders have a history of calling market bottoms. Every time insider buying has spiked like it is right now, the stock market bottomed after a major selloff.Better-Than-Expected Earnings and Bullish IndicatorsTech earnings have topped expectations. Over the past week, Tesla (TSLA) and Netflix (NFLX) have both delivered earnings that beat what analysts anticipated, and the stocks rallied on the news. Technology is the world’s solution to inflation because exponential technologies are the most powerful deflationary tool ever created. As such, we believe increasingly more companies and consumers will turn toward tech in the coming years to beat inflation. Technology’s global societal, political and economic influence will grow exponentially. And tech stocks will soar.The advancing volume indicator flashed a “buy” signal for the first time since the COVID-19 crash’s final stages in 2020. When over 85% of the S&P’s daily trading buying volume on two of three consecutive trading days happens within 30 days of the index’s 52-week low, you always get a rally in stocks over the next year. And indeed, over the past three trading days, two had buying volume account for more than 85% of total trading volume.The bond market is also flashing its own bear-market bottom buying signal with a perfect record of predicting positive gains. In bonds, high-yield spreads have collapsed over the past three weeks. They’re down about 85 basis points. Such rapid collapses in high-yield bond spreads are rare. They’re also bullish. Since 2010, high-yield bond spreads have compressed nearly this quickly on nine separate occasions. Each time, the market rose over the next six and 12 months. And the average gain over the subsequent 12 months was more than 20%.The Final Word on Tech’s New Bull MarketTech stocks have been on a tear this past month.Some are calling the resurgence a head fake.It’s not. Depressed valuations suggest that’s just not the case. In 2018, it also formed a joint venture called Haven, with Berkshire Hathaway and JPMorgan Chase to tackle the exorbitant healthcare costs, but the initiative failed and has been closed.Now, Amazon is taking its biggest step yet into the healthcare industry with its $3.9 billion (including debt) all-cash takeover of 1Life Healthcare, known by consumers as One Medical. On Thursday, Amazon announced its plans to pay $18 a share for the health tech company, a premium of 77% over its closing price yesterday, showing serious interest in getting the deal done. For 2022, it expects revenue of $831 million to $853 million, and an adjusted EBITDA loss of $130 million to $150 million.It's not clear what Amazon intends to do with One Medical -- if it will fold it into the Amazon Care brand, or have it continue to operate separately -- but the press release explained why Amazon finds One Medical attractive.Neil Lindsay, SVP of Amazon Health Services said the company believes healthcare is in need of reinvention, saying, \"We see lots of opportunity to both improve the quality of the experience and give people back valuable time in their days.\" He added, \"Together with One Medical's human-centered and technology-powered approach to healthcare, we believe we can and will help more people get better care, when and how they need it. We look forward to delivering on that long-term mission.\" Human-centered and tech-powered sounds a lot like how Amazon would describe its approach to business.Amazon did say that Amir Dan Rubin will stay on as CEO of One Medical.Should you buy Amazon stock now?There's no doubt that the healthcare market presents a mouthwatering opportunity for Amazon. It's a giant industry, one of the few big enough to move the needle for Amazon, and it's been highly profitable for established incumbents. The industry is also notorious for opaque pricing and providing terrible patient experiences. In other words, many Americans would be happy to see Amazon step in with its reputation for customer service and willingness to take risks.However, the acquisition of One Medical isn't a guarantee of Amazon's success in healthcare. Its track record with acquisitions has been mixed. When Amazon bought Whole Foods, supermarket stocks plunged on the news, but in the five years since the acquisition, Amazon has struggled to increase Whole Foods' market share. In healthcare, Amazon still seems far from being a true disruptor. The PillPack acquisition hasn't made Amazon a force in the pharmacy business, and its telehealth venture has yet to catch fire. Haven, the joint venture, was a notable flop.Amazon tends to acquire companies in order to enter a market after it tries and struggles to go it alone. That doesn't mean the One Medical deal is a bad move. In fact, it shows Amazon is more serious than ever about making a play for the healthcare market, which is good news for Amazon investors hoping for new growth avenues. But it's too soon to judge whether the acquisition will ultimately pay off, especially as Amazon hasn't commented on any specific strategic initiatives related to the deal.Looking at the big picture, the move is a reminder of why Amazon stock has dominated over the decades. The company is unafraid to tackle new industries and has consistently leveraged its reputation for customer service and its Prime membership program to successfully enter new categories. Beyond Inc</b> in July at roughly $5.20 per share along with his uncle, Dr. <b>Scott Freeman.</b></p><p>That netted their Freeman Capital Management family fund a 6.21% passive stake in the meme stock.</p><p>“I wasn’t that aware it was a meme stock,” the University of Southern California student told Benzinga on Thursday.</p><p>“I approached it more from a mathematical side — looking at the balance sheet and the intersection of the debt side, the equity. I did not expect in any way the stock going up so fast.”</p><p><b>The Bed Bath &amp; Beyond Investor&#39;s Plan:</b> In a July 21 letter to Bed Bath &amp; Beyond, the younger Freeman outlined Freeman Capital’s plan for the realignment of the retailer, which consisted of two crucial legs: cutting debt and raising capital.</p><p>Fast forward just four weeks later, coupled with a carefully orchestrated short squeeze by Reddit&#39;s WallStreetBets community known as the &#34;Apes,&#34; shares of Bed Bath rocketed to $28.60 at the highs on Tuesday — the same day Freeman Capital exited its entire stake in the company.</p><p>Curiously, on the same day, <b>GameStop Corp.</b> Chairman <b>Ryan Cohen</b>, who sparked the Bed Bath &amp; Beyond fanfare with the Apes, filed with the SEC saying he intended to sell as many as 9.45 million shares of the company beginning that day.</p><p>The Freeman Family Fund&#39;s sale was well-timed. It closed at more than $130 million after spending $25 million in the initial investment, netting around $105-$110 million, or between 420%-460%.</p><p><b>MindMed Shares Skyrocket:</b> Jake, who previously interned at Volaris Capital Management invests with his uncle Scott, who is the co-founder and former chief medical officer of <b>Mind Medicine (MindMed) Inc</b>. (NYSE:PLTR) stock has been one of the best trading stocks you can ask for. It moves with extreme swings higher and lower, our traders have made a bundle, especially by selling premium (i.e., puts and calls). We have stood behind the technology as a gamechanger. This is truly an innovative and disruptive company that has massive reach to both the commercial and government sectors.</p><p>The company is operating in the most important currency of our lifetimes: big data. And while the company innovates, and helps its clients understand data and make decisions, as an investment this has been complete trash, really an utter disaster. That may not be a technical finance term in the literature, but it is a term you hear often at hedge funds and trading floors. Frankly, while we believe in the ability of the company to deliver long-term, and we own some of it, it has been an utter disaster for longs that are not trading in and out. While we are up off the bottom, there are still so many retail &#34;bag-holders&#34; out there.</p><p><b>Trading not investing</b></p><p>The only ones making money in this stock are trading in and out. You can make good money holding a core investment and selling calls, or even selling puts, due to the volatility. Those who scalp nickels and dimes are doing well. Those who are caught near the bottom are hit hard. But investing here requires extreme patience, and frankly, while we get the win on the trades over and over, we recognize that investors are getting slammed here.</p><p><b>Pressure mounts</b></p><p>Unfortunately, despite a market rally, this remains a trader&#39;s market right now, and we think that is the best way to handle Palantir for now. That said, we think you can hold a small core position for the long-term, but with all of the issues facing the company from dilution to a questionable management team, the economic picture has been poor for the company, making matters worse. Governments are spending less. Businesses are tightening up. While we think you can see business recognize the money saving potential of decision making algorithms, company capex on things like this tends to get cut first when businesses tighten their belt. This is a near-term issue, while things like dilution are longer-term. The thing is, we think you should trade this name. We hate to see investors lose money, and we know it can be painful, but it&#39;s been complete trash, in our humble opinion. Is all hope lost here?</p><p><b>Companies like Palantir tend to be expensive before they finally sustain earnings</b></p><p>Companies like Palantir are indeed often extremely expensive in the early stages. Granted, this company has been around for a long time, but is newly public, barely two years old here public. You really cannot value them on an earnings basis because there are no or very little earnings often as they ramp up. Palantir, as we mentioned has that massive dilution problem, which means consistent positive EPS gets kicked further down the road. We think Palantir has a lot of potential, but this market is beyond unforgiving to those companies that do not make money or have sky high valuations. The last few weeks have seen a huge tech rally, and Palantir stock began to see a big bid up, until this week.</p><p><b>Little faith in Palantir</b></p><p>Investors are now starting to see that Palantir may lose money or breakeven for years. Of course, the theory goes that companies like this will lose money as they spend to attract customers and build their moat. They invest heavily in their growth while seeing revenues increase dramatically. And as we know, Palantir is seeing revenues grow tremendously, but even that pace of growth is slowing, and that is a huge risk. If you believe in the tech (we do) you can add selectively to a well-rounded portfolio to improve cost basis, and put faith in management that it can deliver on growing the business profitably without diluting shareholders into oblivion, but it may take years to get a return. It is just easier to make 5,6,7, even 10% on this name by trading over and over. Investing requires patience and belief that things will improve. Right now, this is a tall order for this company and management. There is no, or very little faith.</p><p>While operationally the company is growing sufficiently, management has some credibility issues. What one has to do is determine if what the company offers will solve enough headaches for customers that eventually the growing sales turn into sustained and growing profits. However, the most recent quarter was also &#34;trash,&#34; as we say.</p><p><b>Headline earnings figures mixed</b></p><p>In the just-reported quarter, performance was pretty mixed on the top and bottom lines with revenue just a touch ahead of consensus estimates, and earnings missing horribly. Total revenue grew 25.9% year-over-year to $473.0 million, beating estimates by just over $1 million. However, its profitability was lower than expected by $0.04, and worse, guidance was far less than consensus. That crushed the stock&#39;s momentum that it had going for it. Now revenues are only growing in the 20% range, versus 30+. Ouch. Further, most expected the company to make a tiny profit this quarter, and instead it lost money. Ouch.</p><p><b>Palantir&#39;s Government and Commercial sectors both showing growth</b></p><p>As you likely are aware, Palantir has two reporting segments: both the government and commercial segments. The commercial revenue stream continues to grow rapidly, while government results seem to be slowing. There is a ton of disagreement out there on whether the somewhat shaky economy will help or hurt, but we think it definitely slows both sectors, especially government.</p><p>Deceleration of revenue growth is definitely a negative for a company like this that does not enjoy high earnings. The revenues did rise 26% from last year, and the company&#39;s customer count increased to 304, up from 169 a year ago, but sequentially customer growth seems to be slowing. Palantir added 27 net new customers in the second quarter, with 19 net new commercial customers. We think it is important to note that the commercial space is doing well. The commercial revenue is expanding rapidly, increasing 132% in 2021, and here in Q2, it rose 46% year-over-year. That said, each earnings report it seems the year-over-year growth is a little less. Not great.</p><p>The government business growth has just stalled. Here government revenue expanded to $263 million in revenue in Q2, rising 9% quarter-over-quarter. One positive is that health care (both in government and also commercial) has become a substantial and rapidly growing business, generating approximately $153 million in revenue in the first half of 2022, up from $42 million in the first half of 2020. Decent growth.</p><p><b>Margins show good news</b></p><p>For as much as the company seemed to have whiffed, there has been pockets of good news. Palantir is seeing very positive momentum in its margins. Positive movement in margins is important in a software company as it really highlights strengths, or weaknesses, in the way it distributes its products. Palantir is delivering here. Adjusted gross margin, (these are the margins which excludes the horrible dilutive stock-based compensation expenses) was 81%. The adjusted income from operations, excluding stock-based compensation and related employer payroll taxes, was $108 million, representing adjusted operating margin of 23% ahead of management&#39;s prior guidance of 20%.</p><p>Palantir expenses are on the rise but cash flow is positive.</p><p>While margins were solid, adjusted expenses are on the rise. Expenses were $365 million, up 11% sequentially. With the revenue number and higher expenses however, despite margins, led to a loss in the quarter. As mentioned adjusted earnings per share was a loss of $0.01. Some of this was that there was a $0.05 impact driven primarily by losses on securities held.</p><p>The company also generated $62 million in cash from operations, and the adjusted free cash flow was $61 million. That was the seventh consecutive quarter of positive free cash flow. Over the last year Palantir generated $314 million in adjusted free cash flow. The balance sheet is anything but trash. The company still has a solid $2.4 billion in cash and cash equivalents and absolutely no debt. Now that said, the company did decide a few weeks ago to expand its revolving credit facility by adding a $450 million new incremental delayed draw term loan facility. Long story short, the company has liquidity if needed. Overall, they have an additional liquidity source up to $950 million and it remains entirely undrawn.</p><p>The reason we explain that is this company is in no danger of any sort of bankruptcies. The investment might be horrible as sustained positive EPS remains elusive, but the balance sheet is nice.</p><p><b>Palantir stock valuation</b></p><p>When we look at the valuation of Palantir stock, the bottom line is the stock is expensive to own. Sure, looking at traditional price-to-earnings is futile, but if you did you would see a stock at like 170X FWD EPS. Very pricey. Perhaps the more appropriate measure is the price-to-sales ratio, but not only is this still very high, the market has basically said it is no longer willing to pay for sky high multiples here in 2022. Keep that in mind. At 10.4X sales, the stock is relatively cheaper than it has ever been, but it is still not &#34;cheap&#34; by any stretch at all. We like the cash flow metrics, though the price to cash flow is still about 70X.</p><p><b>Guidance was more than disappointing</b></p><p>The biggest concern right now is not valuation, or the Q2 earnings results. Nor is it the fact that the stock has been a trash investment. The biggest issue right now is also not the never ending dilution (which stinks). It is not the broader market risk either. The largest issue is a slowdown in performance, the slowing growth of revenues, and continued reduced guidance including here in Q3. The Q3 guidance was pretty weak. For Q3 2022, the company &#34;expects revenue of between $474 million to $475 million&#34; which was way below consensus of $505 million. For the year, we are looking at nearly 5% lower revenues than expected. Ouch. For the year management guided &#34;revenue of $1.9 billion&#34; vs. consensus of $1.98 billion. Adjusted income from operations should be $341 million to $343 million.</p><p>So, what is our take?</p><p>We would be selling calls here on the next pop. The volatility is high here and premiums are hefty. On the next big downturn, sell puts a month or two out and out of the money. If assigned, turn right around and sell calls. Trade around the position. Palantir&#39;s growth is slowly fading, though still strong. We also think profitability is elusive. Dilution could continue so long that positive EPS becomes out of reach without future buybacks. Stick to trading the name, or buy a few shares and come back in 10 years.</p><p><b>Take home</b></p><p>We love that the company operates with no debt and has nice positive free cash flow. The company offers amazing solutions for government and businesses by using big data and using analytics to improve operations. But, investments in the stock have been trashed. Traders have won over and over again. While growth will continue, and the balance sheet is solid, we have to keep an eye on the pace of customer growth and contract values. (NYSE:PLTR) stock has been one of the best trading stocks you can ask for. It moves with extreme swings higher and lower, our traders have made a bundle, especially by selling premium (i.e., puts and calls). We have stood behind the technology as a gamechanger. This is truly an innovative and disruptive company that has massive reach to both the commercial and government sectors.The company is operating in the most important currency of our lifetimes: big data. And while the company innovates, and helps its clients understand data and make decisions, as an investment this has been complete trash, really an utter disaster. That may not be a technical finance term in the literature, but it is a term you hear often at hedge funds and trading floors. Frankly, while we believe in the ability of the company to deliver long-term, and we own some of it, it has been an utter disaster for longs that are not trading in and out. While we are up off the bottom, there are still so many retail \"bag-holders\" out there.Trading not investingThe only ones making money in this stock are trading in and out. You can make good money holding a core investment and selling calls, or even selling puts, due to the volatility. Those who scalp nickels and dimes are doing well. Those who are caught near the bottom are hit hard. But investing here requires extreme patience, and frankly, while we get the win on the trades over and over, we recognize that investors are getting slammed here.Pressure mountsUnfortunately, despite a market rally, this remains a trader's market right now, and we think that is the best way to handle Palantir for now. That said, we think you can hold a small core position for the long-term, but with all of the issues facing the company from dilution to a questionable management team, the economic picture has been poor for the company, making matters worse. Governments are spending less. Businesses are tightening up. While we think you can see business recognize the money saving potential of decision making algorithms, company capex on things like this tends to get cut first when businesses tighten their belt. This is a near-term issue, while things like dilution are longer-term. The thing is, we think you should trade this name. We hate to see investors lose money, and we know it can be painful, but it's been complete trash, in our humble opinion. Is all hope lost here?Companies like Palantir tend to be expensive before they finally sustain earningsCompanies like Palantir are indeed often extremely expensive in the early stages. Granted, this company has been around for a long time, but is newly public, barely two years old here public. You really cannot value them on an earnings basis because there are no or very little earnings often as they ramp up. Palantir, as we mentioned has that massive dilution problem, which means consistent positive EPS gets kicked further down the road. We think Palantir has a lot of potential, but this market is beyond unforgiving to those companies that do not make money or have sky high valuations. The last few weeks have seen a huge tech rally, and Palantir stock began to see a big bid up, until this week.Little faith in PalantirInvestors are now starting to see that Palantir may lose money or breakeven for years. Of course, the theory goes that companies like this will lose money as they spend to attract customers and build their moat. They invest heavily in their growth while seeing revenues increase dramatically. And as we know, Palantir is seeing revenues grow tremendously, but even that pace of growth is slowing, and that is a huge risk. If you believe in the tech (we do) you can add selectively to a well-rounded portfolio to improve cost basis, and put faith in management that it can deliver on growing the business profitably without diluting shareholders into oblivion, but it may take years to get a return. It is just easier to make 5,6,7, even 10% on this name by trading over and over. Investing requires patience and belief that things will improve. Right now, this is a tall order for this company and management. There is no, or very little faith.While operationally the company is growing sufficiently, management has some credibility issues. What one has to do is determine if what the company offers will solve enough headaches for customers that eventually the growing sales turn into sustained and growing profits. However, the most recent quarter was also \"trash,\" as we say.Headline earnings figures mixedIn the just-reported quarter, performance was pretty mixed on the top and bottom lines with revenue just a touch ahead of consensus estimates, and earnings missing horribly. Total revenue grew 25.9% year-over-year to $473.0 million, beating estimates by just over $1 million. However, its profitability was lower than expected by $0.04, and worse, guidance was far less than consensus. That crushed the stock's momentum that it had going for it. Now revenues are only growing in the 20% range, versus 30+. Ouch. Further, most expected the company to make a tiny profit this quarter, and instead it lost money. Ouch.Palantir's Government and Commercial sectors both showing growthAs you likely are aware, Palantir has two reporting segments: both the government and commercial segments. The commercial revenue stream continues to grow rapidly, while government results seem to be slowing. There is a ton of disagreement out there on whether the somewhat shaky economy will help or hurt, but we think it definitely slows both sectors, especially government.Deceleration of revenue growth is definitely a negative for a company like this that does not enjoy high earnings. The revenues did rise 26% from last year, and the company's customer count increased to 304, up from 169 a year ago, but sequentially customer growth seems to be slowing. Palantir added 27 net new customers in the second quarter, with 19 net new commercial customers. We think it is important to note that the commercial space is doing well. The commercial revenue is expanding rapidly, increasing 132% in 2021, and here in Q2, it rose 46% year-over-year. That said, each earnings report it seems the year-over-year growth is a little less. Not great.The government business growth has just stalled. Here government revenue expanded to $263 million in revenue in Q2, rising 9% quarter-over-quarter. One positive is that health care (both in government and also commercial) has become a substantial and rapidly growing business, generating approximately $153 million in revenue in the first half of 2022, up from $42 million in the first half of 2020. Decent growth.Margins show good newsFor as much as the company seemed to have whiffed, there has been pockets of good news. Palantir is seeing very positive momentum in its margins. Positive movement in margins is important in a software company as it really highlights strengths, or weaknesses, in the way it distributes its products. Palantir is delivering here. Adjusted gross margin, (these are the margins which excludes the horrible dilutive stock-based compensation expenses) was 81%. The adjusted income from operations, excluding stock-based compensation and related employer payroll taxes, was $108 million, representing adjusted operating margin of 23% ahead of management's prior guidance of 20%.Palantir expenses are on the rise but cash flow is positive.While margins were solid, adjusted expenses are on the rise. Expenses were $365 million, up 11% sequentially. With the revenue number and higher expenses however, despite margins, led to a loss in the quarter. As mentioned adjusted earnings per share was a loss of $0.01. Some of this was that there was a $0.05 impact driven primarily by losses on securities held.The company also generated $62 million in cash from operations, and the adjusted free cash flow was $61 million. That was the seventh consecutive quarter of positive free cash flow. Over the last year Palantir generated $314 million in adjusted free cash flow. The balance sheet is anything but trash. The company still has a solid $2.4 billion in cash and cash equivalents and absolutely no debt. Now that said, the company did decide a few weeks ago to expand its revolving credit facility by adding a $450 million new incremental delayed draw term loan facility. Long story short, the company has liquidity if needed. Overall, they have an additional liquidity source up to $950 million and it remains entirely undrawn.The reason we explain that is this company is in no danger of any sort of bankruptcies. The investment might be horrible as sustained positive EPS remains elusive, but the balance sheet is nice.Palantir stock valuationWhen we look at the valuation of Palantir stock, the bottom line is the stock is expensive to own. Sure, looking at traditional price-to-earnings is futile, but if you did you would see a stock at like 170X FWD EPS. Very pricey. Perhaps the more appropriate measure is the price-to-sales ratio, but not only is this still very high, the market has basically said it is no longer willing to pay for sky high multiples here in 2022. Keep that in mind. At 10.4X sales, the stock is relatively cheaper than it has ever been, but it is still not \"cheap\" by any stretch at all. We like the cash flow metrics, though the price to cash flow is still about 70X.Guidance was more than disappointingThe biggest concern right now is not valuation, or the Q2 earnings results. Nor is it the fact that the stock has been a trash investment. The biggest issue right now is also not the never ending dilution (which stinks). It is not the broader market risk either. The largest issue is a slowdown in performance, the slowing growth of revenues, and continued reduced guidance including here in Q3. The Q3 guidance was pretty weak. For Q3 2022, the company \"expects revenue of between $474 million to $475 million\" which was way below consensus of $505 million. For the year, we are looking at nearly 5% lower revenues than expected. Ouch. For the year management guided \"revenue of $1.9 billion\" vs. consensus of $1.98 billion. Adjusted income from operations should be $341 million to $343 million.So, what is our take?We would be selling calls here on the next pop. The volatility is high here and premiums are hefty. On the next big downturn, sell puts a month or two out and out of the money. If assigned, turn right around and sell calls. Trade around the position. Palantir's growth is slowly fading, though still strong. We also think profitability is elusive. Dilution could continue so long that positive EPS becomes out of reach without future buybacks. Stick to trading the name, or buy a few shares and come back in 10 years.Take homeWe love that the company operates with no debt and has nice positive free cash flow. The company offers amazing solutions for government and businesses by using big data and using analytics to improve operations. But, investments in the stock have been trashed. Traders have won over and over again. While growth will continue, and the balance sheet is solid, we have to keep an eye on the pace of customer growth and contract values.
