into Singapore’s latest inflation report, review some of Singtel’s divestments and look at a newly-created division by a property giant.</p><h3>Singapore core inflation</h3><p>It seems that inflation will be sticking around longer than expected.</p><p>Singapore’s core inflation rate for July has touched a 14-year high of 4.8%, surpassing the 4.4% reported in June.</p><p>This rise was due to the continued increases in the prices of food, electricity, and gas.</p><p>The last time the island nation experienced such a sharp surge in overall prices was back in November 2008 when core inflation hit 5.5%.</p><p>Overall inflation headed higher as well, touching 7% year on year in July, driven by higher private transportation and accommodation costs.</p><p>The good news is that supply chain bottlenecks have eased somewhat while some commodity prices have levelled off.</p><p>However, a strong recovery in demand from regional economies could counteract these effects and end up boosting inflation.</p><p>Experts have weighed in on Singapore’s inflation rate, opining that it is unlikely for the consumer price index to hit double-digit levels seen in countries such as Brazil, the UK and the Netherlands.</p><p>Singapore’s central bank projects that core inflation should stay elevated over the next few months before easing by the end of this year.</p><h3><a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/Z74.SI\">Singtel </a></h3><p>Singtel has been active on the capital recycling front since it announced its strategic review back in May last year.</p><p>For one, the blue-chip telco has divested part of its Australian tower network and recognised a net divestment gain of S$400 million.</p><p>There were also rumours swirling back in June of Singtel mulling an A$8 billion listing of its Australian subsidiary, Optus.</p><p>Now, news has arisen about the possible sale of Singtel’s cybersecurity business, Trustwave Holdings, which could raise around US$200 million to US$300 million.</p><p>As a recap, Trustwave was acquired by the telco in 2015 for US$810 million.</p><p>However, this plan is still in discussion and there is no definite expression of interest to sell the business.</p><p>If this sale does go through at the valuation stated, it means that Singtel may book a significant exceptional loss relating to Trustwave’s divestment.</p><p>Elsewhere, Singtel announced the sale of a 3.3% stake in India’s Bharti Airtel (NSE: BHARTIARTL) to Bharti Telecom Ltd for a sum of S$2.25 billion.</p><p>This stake sale is part of the telco’s ongoing efforts to trim its portfolio and raise cash to reduce both the group’s debt level and fund 5G initiatives.</p><p>After the sale, Singtel will hold an effective 29.7% stake in Bharti Airtel.</p><p>An estimated net gain of S$600 million will be booked and with this transaction, CFO Arthur Lang commented that the telco would have raised over S$2 billion to fund the group’s growth initiatives over the next several years.</p><p>He also hinted that these fund-raising efforts could result in the growth of Singtel’s dividends, which is something income-focused investors can look forward to.</p><h3><a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/TQ5.SI\">Frasers Property Limited </a></h3><p>Frasers Property Limited (FPL) has announced the formation of a new division, Frasers Property Capital, that will focus on growing capital partnerships with long-term investors across various markets and asset classes.</p><p>Wong Ping, who joined in July, will be the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of this newly-created division and will report to FPL’s Group Chief Corporate Officer, Chia Khong Shoong.</p><p>Wong has more than 25 years of experience in real estate investment management and previously held senior positions with CBRE Investment Management and Allianz Real Estate Asia Pacific.</p><p>Frasers Property Capital will tap on long-term strategic institutional partners to co-fund investment opportunities to help grow FPL’s asset base as real estate is known to be a capital-intensive industry.</p><p>This type of collaboration is not new to FPL, with capital partners having worked with the property giant over the last decade to help grow and develop various property asset sub-classes such as industrial, commercial, and retail.</p></body></html>","source":"lsy1602567310727","collect":0,"html":"<!DOCTYPE html>\n<html>\n<head>\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; charset=utf-8\" />\n<meta Who wouldn't? (Well, maybe billionaires.) In many ways, it all boils down to math: Invest a particular sum (ideally regularly), earn a particular return, and in a particular number of years, you'll get there.A single lottery ticket might work, but really, whether you buy a ticket or not, your odds of winning a big jackpot are nearly the same. Instead, consider a much more reliable -- and easy -- strategy: investing in stocks over many years. Here's how to do that through index funds.Here's the math for becoming a millionaireThe table below shows how you can build wealth over different multiyear periods with regular investments of various sizes. Clearly, achieving millionaire status is possible, but you'll need to be diligent to get there. And if you don't have lots of decades ahead of you, you'll want to be investing a lot each year.Growing at 8% for...$10,000 Invested Annually$15,000 Invested Annually$20,000 Invested Annually5 years$63,359$95,039$126,71810 years$156,455$234,682$312,91015 years$293,243$439,864$586,48620 years$494,229$741,344$988,45825 years$789,544$1,184,316$1,579,08830 years$1,223,459$1,835,188$2,446,917Data source: Calculations by author.That 8% annual average growth rate isn't guaranteed, either. The stock market's average annual return over long periods is close to 10%, but it will likely be at least a little higher or lower over your particular investing time frame, and may be a lot higher or lower.Here are four index funds that may deliver average annual gains of 8% to 10%, on average, over your investing time frame.Four promising index fundsSPDR S&P 500 ETFAs a reminder, an index fund is a mutual fund or exchange-traded fund (ETF) that aims to deliver approximately the same returns as a particular index by holding the same securities in the same proportions. Index funds are great for most of us, with the best index funds offering solid performance, low fees, and simplicity. Buy the shares and then trust in the long-term growth of the economy.The SPDR S&P 500 ETF tracks the S&P 500 index of 500 of America's biggest companies, such as CVS Health, Amazon.com, Johnson & Johnson, and Pfizer. There are thousands of publicly traded companies in America, but these 500 together make up around 80% of the entire market.Lots of financial services companies offer S&P 500 index funds, and there's a good chance that your company's 401(k) plan offers one, too. Any such fund, as long as it's a low-fee index fund, will be a solid candidate for your portfolio.Over the past 10 and 15 years, the SPDR S&P 500 ETF has averaged annual gains of 13.6% and 9.4%, respectively.Vanguard Total Stock Market ETFIf you'd rather spread your dollars (or some of your dollars) across an index that represents roughly 100% of the total U.S. market instead of just 80%, look at a \"total stock market\" index fund, like the Vanguard Total Stock Market ETF. It contains more than 4,000 different stocks, including lots of smaller- and small-cap companies, such as BJ's Wholesale Club and Texas Roadhouse.Over the past 10 and 15 years, the Vanguard Total Stock Market ETF has averaged annual gains of 13.4% and 9.5%, respectively.Vanguard Total World Stock ETFYou can do very well over the long run just by sticking with an S&P 500 index fund or a total stock market fund, but for those interested, you can spread your dollars even wider by opting for a \"total world stock market\" fund. Consider the Vanguard Total World Stock ETF. It encompasses more than 9,000 stocks from countries around the world. Examples include Taiwan Semiconductor, Toyota Motor, Royal Bank of Canada, and of course, all those companies in the previous two index funds.Over the past 10 years, the Vanguard Total World Stock ETF has averaged annual gains of 9.6%. It doesn't yet have a 15-year average.Invesco QQQ ETFFinally, if you'd like to aim for a higher growth rate than those offered by index funds targeting much of the United States or world market, consider the Invesco QQQ ETF. The focus of the Invesco QQQ ETF is much narrower, as it tracks the Nasdaq-100 Index of the 100 largest non-financial companies listed on the Nasdaq stock exchange, based on market cap. That’s more than the entire current market capitalization of companies including Intel Corp., Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs.The wild price action continued Friday with the stock swinging between gains and losses and trgiggering at least one volatility-induced trading halt. Still, volume remains extremely thin for AMTD Digital, with less than 8,000 shares changing hands as of 9:55 am in New York. Total daily volume for the stock has failed to top 500,000 shares for each of the last four sessions.Hefty LossesAMTD Digital's losses are bigger than value of entire stocks like Intel and GoldmanA dizzying rally over the last three weeks saw AMTD Digital’s shares rise more than 32,000% from their initial public offering price at one point on Tuesday. That surge helped balloon the combined valuation of its Class A and Class B shares to upwards of $300 billion as of Tuesday’s close, making it the third largest financial stock in the world. But the company reported just $25 million in revenue for the year ended April 2021, a far cry from the hundreds of billions of dollars made by industry titans like Berkshire Hathaway Inc. and JPMorgan Chase & Co.On Friday the company announced that the underwriters of its mid-July initial public offering had decided to exercise their full greenshoe option to purchase up to an additional 2.4 million American depositary shares at their listing price of $7.80 each. AMTD said it expects the issuance of the additional shares to be completed by Aug. 8.The stock’s rapid rise and fall has also led to wild moves in the shares of its parent company, AMTD Idea. That firm, which is part of the larger AMTD Group umbrella, owns roughly 88.7% of AMTD Digital’s outstanding shares. It too saw a wave of frenzied buying this week, soaring as much as 520% on Tuesday alone, while attracting heavy interest from retail traders.But AMTD Idea’s gains also proved to be fleeting, as the stock dropped 39% after peaking on Tuesday, although it rebounded about 7.4% on Friday. To be sure, its decline in market value over its two-day selloff was significantly lower than AMTD Digital’s, clocking in at just over $1 billion.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"HKD":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1844,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9902638949,"gmtCreate":1659682291184,"gmtModify":1704978065584,"author":{"id":"4106697407777030","authorId":"4106697407777030","name":"hiiiinvestor","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/fc2201ca55b4c80115c9234b16f5ccd5","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4106697407777030","idStr":"4106697407777030"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"K","listText":"K","text":"K","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9902638949","repostId":"9902630628","repostType":1,"repost":{"id":9902630628,"gmtCreate":1659681675067,"gmtModify":1704977023249,"author":{"id":"3581636635898281","authorId":"3581636635898281","name":"pekss","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/7dfef98c44b3810cffef7f3eb78524ba","crmLevel":12,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3581636635898281","idStr":"3581636635898281"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"I think the partnership will create value for <a href=\"https://ttm.financial/S/COIN\">$Coinbase Global, Inc.(COIN)$</a>Bullishmore than it does for bitcoin. While, in rare instances, share price continued to decline after the 17% drawdown, the stock was in positive territory a year later 92% of the time.Check out the histogram below, which shows the distribution of one-year forward returns after Apple stock dipped 17% of more from a peak, since 2007:Figure 2: AAPL: 1-year return after 17%+ selloff.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"AAPL":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":893,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9034084031,"gmtCreate":1647736093721,"gmtModify":1676534261114,"author":{"id":"4106697407777030","authorId":"4106697407777030","name":"hiiiinvestor","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/fc2201ca55b4c80115c9234b16f5ccd5","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4106697407777030","idStr":"4106697407777030"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Thanks for info","listText":"Thanks for info","text":"Thanks for info","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":9,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9034084031","repostId":"2220777059","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1643,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9080623308,"gmtCreate":1649888796443,"gmtModify":1676534596713,"author":{"id":"4106697407777030","authorId":"4106697407777030","name":"hiiiinvestor","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/fc2201ca55b4c80115c9234b16f5ccd5","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4106697407777030","idStr":"4106697407777030"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Nice","listText":"Nice","text":"Nice","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":8,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9080623308","repostId":"1165734323","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1165734323","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1649863823,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1165734323?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-04-13 23:30","market":"us","language":"en","title":"The Roadster Is Tesla and Elon Musk's New Cash Machine","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1165734323","media":"TheStreet","summary":"The electric-vehicle manufacturer Tesla manages to generate significant revenue even with models that it hasn't yet produced.There is no doubt that $Tesla(TSLA)$ dominates the electric-vehicle market.","content":"<html><head></head><body><ul><li>The electric-vehicle manufacturer Tesla manages to generate significant revenue even with models that it hasn't yet produced.</li></ul><p>There is no doubt that <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/TSLA\">Tesla</a> dominates the electric-vehicle market.</p><p>The Austin automaker produced 305,407 vehicles in the first quarter and deliver 310,048 despite supply-chain disruptions and Russia's invasion of Ukraine, which worsened soaring raw-materials prices like nickel.</p><p>Chief Executive Elon Musk's group should exceed one million vehicles produced in 2022, industry sources anticipate. Apple has been <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/AONE.U\">one</a> of the most valuable companies in the world for a while and has leadership positions in numerous fields. Its massive installed device base (1.8B active devices) is pushing Apple's service revenue upwards at a rapid pace, and the overall company's profit margin is also improving. Furthermore, Apple is moving to become self-sufficient to reduce costs and mitigate supply chain disruptions, and the effort has been paying off. I expect Apple to continue its success well into the future, and the current volatility in the tech sector is presenting a huge opportunity to grab Apple shares at a discount because:</p><ul><li>Apple's high margin businesses (Mac and Service segments) are growing at a rapid pace, contributing to great revenue growth and margin expansion.</li><li>Revenue growth trajectory remains solid with an increasing subscription base and new product releases (iPad Air, iPhone SE, and etc.).</li><li>The market volatility and tech sector sell-off dragged Apple's stock down, and it is now being sold under its pre-pandemic level. This presents a great opportunity.</li></ul><h3>Growing in Right Segments</h3><p>Since I wrote my last article, Apple reported quarterly earnings in late April, and the results continue to demonstrate that Apple is focusing on the correct segments for growth and profitability. Overall revenue grew 9% YoY to $97.3 B, and they generated a whopping $28 B operating cash flow. Particularly, their Mac segment and services segment led the charge.</p><p>Apple has been working on becoming self-sufficient and manufacturing key product components internally. A couple of years ago Apple took the noteworthy action of severing ties with Intel and making their own computer chips. The effort has been paying a great dividend. The Apple M1 (their own chip) has been performing very well against Intel and other chips on the market, and Mac sales have been very strong. Additionally, producing their own chips boosted the profit margins on Mac products.</p><p>Strong performance by Apple Services segment (advertising, AppleCare, Cloud, Digital Content, Payment) is also welcome news for investors. The services segment is a 2x higher gross margin business (72.6%) than the products segment (36.4%), and it has higher growth potential from cloud and digital content. Assisted by its massive installed device base (1.8 B active devices), AppleCare has great potential for increasing revenue as well. Overall, the strong performance from Mac and Services shows that there are good days ahead.</p><p><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/141d5a91e5df23365dae251e9bab5e0b\" tg-width=\"640\" tg-height=\"187\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer\"/></p><p>Performance by Segments (SEC Filings)</p><p><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/121762b45f7dec13cf921113a187da10\" tg-width=\"640\" tg-height=\"184\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer\"/></p><p>Gross Margins of Apple by Segments (SEC Filings)</p><h4>Strong Revenue Growth Trajectory</h4><p>Apple has been growing at a solid pace (10% per year, 5-year average) in the past several years, and the revenue growth is accelerating. This acceleration is due to multiple factors. The first one is the continuing strong performance from new products, and there is no sign that this trend is going to end. During the last quarter, Apple released iPhone SE with 5 G technology, iPad Air with M1 chip, all-new Mac Studio, and all-new Apple Studio Display.</p><p>As mentioned before, Apple currently has 1.8 B active device bases, and the number is expected to grow with the release of new products. The active base has been growing at about 100-150 million per year (1.4 B, 1.5 B, 1.65 B, and 1.8 B in 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022, respectively). Also, this larger installed base will translate into greater revenue growth from AppleCare, advertising, and cloud services. Currently, Apple has about 785 M subscribers to these services.</p><p><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/ac35dc5d8146da0ab3d88270dbc0b6db\" tg-width=\"635\" tg-height=\"433\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer\"/>Data by YCharts</p><h4>Favorable Valuation Thanks to Volatility</h4><p>Ongoing volatility caused by supply chain disruption, inflation, war, and Federal Reserve's changing policies dragged the whole tech sector severely down. Nasdaq index is down from 16,000 in November 2021 to below 12,000. This volatility dragged great companies like Apple along, and now Apple stock is trading below its pre-pandemic level (current P/E ratio of 23.8x vs. pre-pandemic P/E around 25.5x). This presents a great opportunity for investors to grab Apple shares at a bargain.</p><p><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/60f28dab37b8c21b885a326a9994c721\" tg-width=\"640\" tg-height=\"386\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer\"/></p><p>Nasdaq Index (CNBC)</p><h2>Intrinsic Value Estimation</h2><p>I used DCF model to estimate the intrinsic value of Apple. For the estimation, I utilized current EBITDA ($130 B) as a proxy for cash flow and WACC of 9.0% as the discount rate. For the base case, I assumed EBITDA growth of 20% (Sector median) for the next 5 years and zero growth afterwards (zero terminal growth). For the bullish and very bullish case, I assumed EBITDA growth of 22% and 24%, respectively, for the next 5 years and zero growth afterwards.</p><p>The estimation revealed that the current stock price presents 20-30% upside. Given their technological superiority, organic/inorganic growth, and market dominance, I expect them to achieve this upside with ease.</p><table><tbody><tr><td></td><td><p>Price Target</p></td><td><p>Upside</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>Base Case</p></td><td><p>$170.23</p></td><td><p>16%</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>Bullish Case</p></td><td><p>$182.92</p></td><td><p>24%</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>Very Bullish Case</p></td><td><p>$196.41</p></td><td><p>34%</p></td></tr></tbody></table><p>The assumptions and data used for the price target estimation are summarized below:</p><ul><li>WACC: 9.0%</li><li>EBITDA Growth Rate: 20% (Base Case), 22% (Bullish Case), 24% (Very Bullish Case)</li><li>Current EBITDA: $130 B</li><li>Current Stock Price: $147.11 (05/14/2022)</li><li>Tax rate: 20%</li></ul><h2>Cappuccino Stock Rating</h2><p>The details of the metric is explained in this article.</p><table><colgroup></colgroup><tbody><tr><td></td><td>Weighting</td><td>AAPL</td></tr><tr><td>Economic Moat Strength</td><td>30%</td><td>5</td></tr><tr><td>Financial Strength</td><td>30%</td><td>4</td></tr><tr><td>Growth Rate vs. Sector</td><td>15%</td><td>3</td></tr><tr><td>Margin of Safety</td><td>15%</td><td>5</td></tr><tr><td>Sector Outlook</td><td>10%</td><td>4</td></tr><tr><td><b>Overall</b></td><td></td><td><b>4.3</b></td></tr></tbody></table><h4><b>Economic Moat Strength - 5/5</b></h4><p>Apple gets 5 out of 5. Apple is a clear leader with exceptional competitive edge. Their competitive edge stems from technological superiority, switching costs, and network effects.</p><h4><b>Financial Strength - 4/5</b></h4><p>Apple has $51.5 B in cash and a high covered ratio (45.13x), but their liquidity (current ratio at 0.93x and quick ratio of 0.76x) is in line with the sector.</p><h4><b>Growth Rate - 3/5</b></h4><p>Apple is growing at a pace consistent with their overall industry. Apple’s most recent annual revenue growth was 18.63% (vs. sector median of 19.98%). Given their leadership position and strong revenue, these revenue growth numbers are great. However, compared to hyper growth companies in the start-up or ramping-up phase with 50-60% growth rates, it’s hard to give out 4 or 5 stars.</p><h4><b>Margin of Safety - 5/5</b></h4><p>Apple is trading ~25% under intrinsic value at this point. The ongoing market volatility and tech sector struggles are providing a great opportunity to grab Apple’s shares under intrinsic value. Their P/E ratio is below pre-pandemic level, which just doesn't make sense.</p><h4><b>Sector Outlook - 4/5</b></h4><p>The tech sector will keep on growing at a rapid pace with new technology and markets, but the smartphone and laptop segments won’t be the fastest growing segment in tech. There will be adequate, but not exceptional, growth.</p><h2>Risk</h2><p>Apple's main segment is still the iPhone, and competition within the smartphone market is only increasing and getting complex. Also, consumer preference is diversifying in terms of preferred features (camera quality, computing/memory performance, weight/size, etc.). Apple has been one of the most valuable companies in the world for a while and has leadership positions in numerous fields. Its massive installed device base (1.8B active devices) is pushing Apple's service revenue upwards at a rapid pace, and the overall company's profit margin is also improving. Furthermore, Apple is moving to become self-sufficient to reduce costs and mitigate supply chain disruptions, and the effort has been paying off. I expect Apple to continue its success well into the future, and the current volatility in the tech sector is presenting a huge opportunity to grab Apple shares at a discount because:Apple's high margin businesses (Mac and Service segments) are growing at a rapid pace, contributing to great revenue growth and margin expansion.Revenue growth trajectory remains solid with an increasing subscription base and new product releases (iPad Air, iPhone SE, and etc.).The market volatility and tech sector sell-off dragged Apple's stock down, and it is now being sold under its pre-pandemic level. This presents a great opportunity.Growing in Right SegmentsSince I wrote my last article, Apple reported quarterly earnings in late April, and the results continue to demonstrate that Apple is focusing on the correct segments for growth and profitability. Overall revenue grew 9% YoY to $97.3 B, and they generated a whopping $28 B operating cash flow. Particularly, their Mac segment and services segment led the charge.Apple has been working on becoming self-sufficient and manufacturing key product components internally. A couple of years ago Apple took the noteworthy action of severing ties with Intel and making their own computer chips. The effort has been paying a great dividend. The Apple M1 (their own chip) has been performing very well against Intel and other chips on the market, and Mac sales have been very strong. Additionally, producing their own chips boosted the profit margins on Mac products.Strong performance by Apple Services segment (advertising, AppleCare, Cloud, Digital Content, Payment) is also welcome news for investors. The services segment is a 2x higher gross margin business (72.6%) than the products segment (36.4%), and it has higher growth potential from cloud and digital content. Assisted by its massive installed device base (1.8 B active devices), AppleCare has great potential for increasing revenue as well. Overall, the strong performance from Mac and Services shows that there are good days ahead.Performance by Segments (SEC Filings)Gross Margins of Apple by Segments (SEC Filings)Strong Revenue Growth TrajectoryApple has been growing at a solid pace (10% per year, 5-year average) in the past several years, and the revenue growth is accelerating. This acceleration is due to multiple factors. The first one is the continuing strong performance from new products, and there is no sign that this trend is going to end. During the last quarter, Apple released iPhone SE with 5 G technology, iPad Air with M1 chip, all-new Mac Studio, and all-new Apple Studio Display.As mentioned before, Apple currently has 1.8 B active device bases, and the number is expected to grow with the release of new products. The active base has been growing at about 100-150 million per year (1.4 B, 1.5 B, 1.65 B, and 1.8 B in 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022, respectively). Also, this larger installed base will translate into greater revenue growth from AppleCare, advertising, and cloud services. Currently, Apple has about 785 M subscribers to these services.Data by YChartsFavorable Valuation Thanks to VolatilityOngoing volatility caused by supply chain disruption, inflation, war, and Federal Reserve's changing policies dragged the whole tech sector severely down. Nasdaq index is down from 16,000 in November 2021 to below 12,000. This volatility dragged great companies like Apple along, and now Apple stock is trading below its pre-pandemic level (current P/E ratio of 23.8x vs. pre-pandemic P/E around 25.5x). This presents a great opportunity for investors to grab Apple shares at a bargain.Nasdaq Index (CNBC)Intrinsic Value EstimationI used DCF model to estimate the intrinsic value of Apple. For the estimation, I utilized current EBITDA ($130 B) as a proxy for cash flow and WACC of 9.0% as the discount rate. For the base case, I assumed EBITDA growth of 20% (Sector median) for the next 5 years and zero growth afterwards (zero terminal growth). For the bullish and very bullish case, I assumed EBITDA growth of 22% and 24%, respectively, for the next 5 years and zero growth afterwards.The estimation revealed that the current stock price presents 20-30% upside. Given their technological superiority, organic/inorganic growth, and market dominance, I expect them to achieve this upside with ease.Price TargetUpsideBase Case$170.2316%Bullish Case$182.9224%Very Bullish Case$196.4134%The assumptions and data used for the price target estimation are summarized below:WACC: 9.0%EBITDA Growth Rate: 20% (Base Case), 22% (Bullish Case), 24% (Very Bullish Case)Current EBITDA: $130 BCurrent Stock Price: $147.11 (05/14/2022)Tax rate: 20%Cappuccino Stock RatingThe details of the metric is explained in this article.WeightingAAPLEconomic Moat Strength30%5Financial Strength30%4Growth Rate vs. Sector15%3Margin of Safety15%5Sector Outlook10%4Overall4.3Economic Moat Strength - 5/5Apple gets 5 out of 5. Apple is a clear leader with exceptional competitive edge. Their competitive edge stems from technological superiority, switching costs, and network effects.Financial Strength - 4/5Apple has $51.5 B in cash and a high covered ratio (45.13x), but their liquidity (current ratio at 0.93x and quick ratio of 0.76x) is in line with the sector.Growth Rate - 3/5Apple is growing at a pace consistent with their overall industry. Apple’s most recent annual revenue growth was 18.63% (vs. sector median of 19.98%). Given their leadership position and strong revenue, these revenue growth numbers are great. However, compared to hyper growth companies in the start-up or ramping-up phase with 50-60% growth rates, it’s hard to give out 4 or 5 stars.Margin of Safety - 5/5Apple is trading ~25% under intrinsic value at this point. The ongoing market volatility and tech sector struggles are providing a great opportunity to grab Apple’s shares under intrinsic value. Their P/E ratio is below pre-pandemic level, which just doesn't make sense.Sector Outlook - 4/5The tech sector will keep on growing at a rapid pace with new technology and markets, but the smartphone and laptop segments won’t be the fastest growing segment in tech. There will be adequate, but not exceptional, growth.RiskApple's main segment is still the iPhone, and competition within the smartphone market is only increasing and getting complex. Also, consumer preference is diversifying in terms of preferred features (camera quality, computing/memory performance, weight/size, etc.). The iPhone family still commands a leadership position based on technological superiority, switching cost, and brand image, so I don't expect Apple to struggle. However, I wouldn't expect large growth from the iPhone segment in the future.Global Smartphone Market Share (Counterpoint)As mentioned before, Apple has been moving towards self-sufficiency by manufacturing their own parts. All the same, one analyst is confident that the stock will hit top gear and keep rising over the next decade.What Happened: Tesla stock will go from a market capitalization of a little over $1 trillion currently to $10 trillion by 2030, New Street Research analyst Pierre Ferragu said in a tweet. The analyst said the Tesla growth story is slowly taking hold and the company is on track to see unprecedented scale and capture 20% of the auto market.Ferragu, however, cautioned that his estimate is neither a forecast nor an investment recommendation, leaving it open to investors to decide for themselves.The analyst's 2030 look ahead assumes 20 million units of vehicle sales and an average selling price of $35,000, translating to vehicle sales of $700 billion. About $1.5 billion will likely come from insurance, $35 billion-$70 billion from full-self driving software and $250 billion from energy, with real AI providing option value.The total 2030 revenue will likely come in at $1 trillion, the analyst estimates. Applying a multiple of 8-10 times on estimated sales, the company's valuation will gallop to about $10 trillion, he added.Where Will This Leave Tesla Stock: Tesla's outstanding share count is currently at 1.03 billion. If the share count remains unchanged, the per-share value of Tesla would be around $9,710.Tesla detractors and skeptical investors may debate the credibility of Ferragu's model. Nevertheless, the company is poised to see superlative growth over the coming years. Tesla, according to many sell-side analysts, is not able to keep pace with the surging demand for its vehicles.It may now have found a solution with the two more Gigas, in Berlin and Texas, coming online. Loup Fund analyst Gene Munster expects the company to deliver 1.8 million vehicles in 2023.Tesla closed Friday's session down 3% at $1,025.49.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"TSLA":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":381,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"lives":[]}
