and raise more than $3 billion in proceeds. </p>\n<p></p>\n<p>If all deals materialize, it will make 2021 the biggest year for IPO proceeds ever, and shatter the previous record by about 30%, according to Bill Smith, founder and chief executive of Renaissance Capital, a provider of institutional research and exchange-traded funds oriented around IPOs. The market is expected to see some 375 deals for the year, raising $125 billion, according to Renaissance, beating the $97 billion raised in 2000 during the dot-com boom. </p>\n<p></p>\n<p>“After the long summer break, this week is a litmus test for upcoming tech, biotech, and consumer IPOs,” Smith wrote in a market commentary. The list includes a Swiss running-shoe company backed by tennis giant Roger Federer, a drive-through coffee kiosk operator and a mortgage insurer that was spun out of insurer Genworth Financial. </p>\n<p></p>\n<p>The biggest deal of the week is expected to come from Thoughtworks,a Chicago-based technology consultancy that will go public at a valuation of up to $6.1 billion.</p>\n<p>The company, which expects to change its name from Turing Holding Corp. to Thoughtworks with completion of the IPO, said a total of 36.84 million shares will be offered, split between the company and selling shareholders.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>The deal is expected to price at between $18 and $20 a share, and the stock will trade on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol “TWKS.” Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan are the lead underwriters. The company recorded net income of $79.3 million on revenue of $803.4 million in 2020, after income of $28.4 million on revenue of $772.2 million in 2019.</p>\n<p>The Swiss athletic-footwear maker On Holding&nbsp;is expected to raise up to $622 million at a valuation of almost $6 billion. On has applied to list 31.1 million shares priced at $18 to $20 each on the New York Stock Exchange, under the ticker symbol “ONON.”</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and Morgan Stanley are lead underwriters in a syndicate of nine banks on the On deal. Proceeds are to be used for general corporate purposes. The company has a line that it co-developed with Federer.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>The company had net income of 3.8 million Swiss francs ($4.1 million) in the six months through June 30, after a loss of 33.1 million francs in the year-earlier period,&nbsp;according to its IPO documents.&nbsp;Sales came to 315.5 million francs, up from 170.9 million francs.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>Also from Switzerland, sports betting site Sportrader Group AG&nbsp;plans to offer 19 million shares priced at $25 to $28 each, for a valuation of up to $31 billion. The company has applied to list on Nasdaq under the ticker symbol “SRAD.” JPMorgan, Morgan Stanley, Citigroup and UBS are lead underwriters in a syndicate of 13 banks working on the deal.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>Proceeds are to be used for working capital and to spur growth. The company had a net profit of $29.9 million in the first six months of the year, on revenue of $321 million,&nbsp;according to its filing documents.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>Dutch Bros Inc.,an operator of drive-through shops that serve hot and cold drinks mostly in western U.S. states, is planning to offer 21.1 million shares priced at $18 to $20 each in its IPO, valuing the company at up to $3.3 billion.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>BofA Securities, JPMorgan and Jefferies are lead underwriters in a syndicate of 13 banks working on the deal. The company has applied to list on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol “BROS.”</p>\n<p>Proceeds are to be used to purchase additional Class A shares — the company is planning to have four classes of stock with differing voting rights. The company had a net loss of $13.6 million, or 32 cents a share, in the first six months of the year, narrower than the loss of $16.5 million, or 38 cents a share, posted in the year-earlier period. Revenue fell to $227.9 million from $327.4 million.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p><b>Rounding out the list are:</b></p>\n<p>•&nbsp;Definitive Healthcare Corp.,&nbsp;a Massachusetts-based provider of healthcare commercial intelligence, is planning to offer 15.56 million shares in its PO, which is expected to price between $21 and $24 a share. At that pricing, the company could be valued at up to $3.55 billion.</p>\n<p>•&nbsp;Enact Holdings Inc., a mortgage insurer owned by Genworth, is planning to offer 13.3 million shares priced at $19 to $20 each. The company would be valued at $3.3 billion at the top of that range. The company said all shares will be sold by Genworth and it will not receive any proceeds. It has applied to list on Nasdaq under the ticker “ACT.” Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan are lead underwriters in a team of nine banks working on the deal.</p>\n<p>•&nbsp;ForgeRock<a href=\"https://www.marketwatch.com/investing/stock/FORG?mod=MW_story_quote&amp;mod=article_inline\" target=\"_blank\">,</a>&nbsp;a California-based identity security platform, is looking to raise up to $264 million with an offering of 11 million shares priced between $21 and $24 a share. That pricing would value the company a valuation of up to $1.91 billion.</p>\n<p>The stock is expected to list on the NYSE under the ticker symbol “FORG.” Morgan Stanley and JPMorgan are the lead underwriters. The company recorded a net loss of $41.8 million on revenue of $127.6 million in 2020, after a loss of $36.9 million on revenue of $104.5 million in 2019.</p>\n<p><b>•</b>Dice Therapeutics&nbsp;is expected to raise up to $170 million at a valuation of up to $583 million and list on Nasdaq under the ticker symbol “DICE.” The biotech is developing therapies to treat chronic diseases in the field of immunology.</p>\n<p><b>•</b>Surgical robotics developer Procept BioRobotics,is aiming to raise up to $132 million at a valuation of about $1 billion with plans to list on Nasdaq under the ticker symbol “PRCT.” BofA Securities and Goldman Sachs are lead underwriters.</p>\n<p>“We develop, manufacture and sell the AquaBeam Robotic System, an advanced, image-guided, surgical robotic system for use in minimally invasive urologic surgery with an initial focus on treating benign prostatic hyperplasia, or BPH,” the company says in its IPO documents.</p>\n<p><b>•</b>Tyra Biosciences is aiming to raise $107.2 million in IPO proceeds at a valuation of $589 million. The biotech’s leading product candidate is a treatment for bladder cancer. It has applied to list on Nasdaq under the symbol “TYRA.”</p>\n<p><b>•</b>EzFill Holdings, an app-based mobile fueling company in South Florida, is planning to raise $25 million at a valuation of $100 million. The market is expected to see some 375 deals for the year, raising $125 billion, according to Renaissance, beating the $97 billion raised in 2000 during the dot-com boom. \n\n“After the long summer break, this week is a litmus test for upcoming tech, biotech, and consumer IPOs,” Smith wrote in a market commentary. The S&amp;P 500 and Nasdaq ended Monday at fresh record highs as investors jumped into technology stocks, taking comfort from the Federal Reserve's dovish comments on tapering in monetary stimulus and what that might mean for the economic recovery.</p>\n<p>Apple Inc jumped to an all-time high, while Microsoft Corp , Amazon.com , Google-owner Alphabet Inc all rose, helping the tech-heavy Nasdaq outperform the S&amp;P 500 and the Dow.</p>\n<p>High-growth tech stocks tend to benefit from expectations of lower rates because their value rests heavily on future earnings.</p>\n<p>The benchmark index is tracking its longest monthly winning streak since 2018 on the promise of easy money, with investors shrugging off signs of a slowing economic recovery and surging COVID-19 cases.</p>\n<p>Fed Chair Jerome Powell said on Friday the central bank would continue to be cautious in its approach to tapering its massive pandemic-era stimulus, while reaffirming a steady economic recovery.</p>\n<p>\"It's now clear that there's going to still be an extraordinary amount of support for this economy, probably until November,\" said Ed Moya, senior market analyst for the Americas at OANDA.</p>\n<p>\"Some investors are thinking that tapering might not even start this year, but the <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/AONE.U\">one</a> thing that everyone can agree on is that Chair Powell has signaled they are in no rush to raise interest rates and he's disconnected tapering with rate-hike timing.\"</p>\n<p>The S&amp;P 500 has risen more than 3% so far in August - That includes its Garena digital entertainment platform that publishes video games and offers e-sports tie-ins, the Shopee e-commerce platform and SeaMoney digital financial services that include mobile payment services.</p>\n<p>Sea was a darling in 2020 as it rode the “stay at home trade” to great success. Revenue doubled year over year in 2020 to $4.4 billion, and the company’s momentum was the envy of Wall Street as Sea stock racked up roughly 640% gains on the calendar year.</p>\n<p>But the fundamentals shown by Sea in 2021 hint that the surge in share prices were justified. Consider that in its first-quarter report in May, revenue surged by about&nbsp;150%— while gross profit tripled year over year.</p>\n<p>With its next earnings report scheduled for mid-August, Sea stock could see another leg up as it continues to prove Amazon isn’t the only e-commerce name worth watching.</p>\n<p><b>Coupang</b></p>\n<p>While Sea has been a cult stock for a while in some circles, one Asian e-commerce stock that is still flying under the radar for many is Korea-based Coupang Inc..&nbsp;South Korea’s biggest e-commerce company began trading in March after an IPO that raised $4.6 billion, but since then shares have drifted lower — and other cult-like stocks have won all the attention.</p>\n<p>If you haven’t yet heard of Coupang, its model should be quite familiar. It sells various products including home goods, apparel, beauty products, sporting goods and electronics. It’s also looking beyond these tried-and-true categories to include a focus on fresh food and groceries, as well as services including travel and restaurant delivery.</p>\n<p>Though the fundamentals are light given its recent debut, the numbers we have do show this regional e-tailer is connecting in a big way in Korea. Namely, it saw net revenue growth of 74% in its first-quarter report in May, and gross profit up 70% year over year. Total customers grew 21%, and revenue per customer surged 44%.</p>\n<p>Admittedly, the total customer base in that quarter was just 16 million households — hardly Amazon-esque. And so far in 2021, share prices has slumped slightly, even though the S&amp;P 500 has powered higher. But remember, this is a company that just raised $4.6 billion — with a “B” — and is serious about growth. Considering the language and logistical barriers to competition in the markets it serves that clearly have long-term growth potential, investors may want to consider the lull in Coupang shares a buying opportunity.</p>\n<p><b>MercadoLibre</b></p>\n<p>Taking a page out of the playbook of Silicon Valley stocks that boast high share prices and a refusal to split, MercadoLibre Inc.&nbsp;is currently trading well above four figures — and based on recent history, seems as if it’s likely to stay there.</p>\n<p>MercadoLibre stock has cooled off in 2021 and is sitting on a slight loss year to date, compared with an uptrend broadly for U.S. stocks. However, that’s after this Latin American stock racked up 200% gains last year. Argentina-based MercadoLibre is hardly slowing down, however, as in the first quarter it reported&nbsp;70 million&nbsp;active users — an increase of 62% above the just over 43 million users in the prior year. Shares of rival Lowe's Companies dropped 5.8%.</p>\n<p>A report showed that U.S. retail sales fell more than expected in July, as supply shortages depressed motor vehicle purchases and the boost to spending from the economy's reopening and stimulus checks faded, suggesting a slowdown in growth early in the third quarter.</p>\n<p>“The retail sales drop I think clarified for investors that COVID may well be a big problem going into the fall,” said Rick Meckler, partner at Cherry Lane Investments in New Vernon, New Jersey.</p>\n<p>Prior to Tuesday's drops, the S&amp;P 500 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average had closed at record highs for five straight sessions.</p>\n<p>“The (market) backdrop remains really solid,\" said Katie Nixon, chief investment officer at Northern Trust Wealth Management. \"At this point, when you have some of these negative macro indicators coming in and you have markets that are selling at all-time highs with pretty expensive valuations by any measure, there is just going to be more vulnerability to that kind of bad news.”</p>\n<p>The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 282.12 points, or 0.79%, to 35,343.28, the S&amp;P 500 lost 31.63 points, or 0.71%, to 4,448.08 and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 137.58 points, or 0.93%, to 14,656.18.</p>\n<p>The S&amp;P 500 healthcare sector was a bright spot, ending up 1.1% on the day.</p>\n<p>With the market in a period that has seasonally been weak historically, investors have said stocks may be due for a significant drop, with the S&amp;P 500 yet to experience a 5% pullback this year. Indeed, the indexes ended well above their session lows on Tuesday as stocks partially recovered late in the day.</p>\n<p>In an encouraging sign about the economic rebound, a Federal Reserve report showed production at U.S. factories surged in July.</p>\n<p>Investors are looking for signs about when the Fed will rein in its easy money policies, with minutes from the central bank's latest meeting due on Wednesday, and are watching the resurgence in COVID-19 cases and its impact on the economy.</p>\n<p>In other company news, Walmart Inc shares ended little changed after the retailer increased its annual U.S. same-store sales forecast after beating analysts' estimates.</p>\n<p>Declining issues outnumbered advancing ones on the NYSE by a 2.92-to-1 ratio; Shares of rival Lowe's Companies dropped 5.8%.</p>\n<p>A report showed that U.S. retail sales fell more than expected in July, as supply shortages depressed motor vehicle purchases and the boost to spending from the economy's reopening and stimulus checks faded, suggesting a slowdown in growth early in the third quarter.</p>\n<p>“The retail sales drop I think clarified for investors that COVID may well be a big problem going into the fall,” said Rick Meckler, partner at Cherry Lane Investments in New Vernon, New Jersey.</p>\n<p>Prior to Tuesday's drops, the S&amp;P 500 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average had closed at record highs for five straight sessions.</p>\n<p>“The (market) backdrop remains really solid,\" said Katie Nixon, chief investment officer at Northern Trust Wealth Management. \"At this point, when you have some of these negative macro indicators coming in and you have markets that are selling at all-time highs with pretty expensive valuations by any measure, there is just going to be more vulnerability to that kind of bad news.”</p>\n<p>The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 282.12 points, or 0.79%, to 35,343.28, the S&amp;P 500 lost 31.63 points, or 0.71%, to 4,448.08 and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 137.58 points, or 0.93%, to 14,656.18.</p>\n<p>The S&amp;P 500 healthcare sector was a bright spot, ending up 1.1% on the day.</p>\n<p>With the market in a period that has seasonally been weak historically, investors have said stocks may be due for a significant drop, with the S&amp;P 500 yet to experience a 5% pullback this year.
