The utility model has been endorsed by some powerful lobbying groups, including the National Association of Realtors.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"STS":0.9,"FMCC":0.9,"FNMA":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":887,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":123495630,"gmtCreate":1624433181020,"gmtModify":1703836534250,"author":{"id":"3579085558836279","authorId":"3579085558836279","name":"RickSanchez","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/91da9e11212a16198232f78ed3ff2a9d","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3579085558836279","idStr":"3579085558836279"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Big if true","listText":"Big if true","text":"Big if true","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/123495630","repostId":"1186919064","repostType":2,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1372,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":123404575,"gmtCreate":1624432630797,"gmtModify":1703836522680,"author":{"id":"3579085558836279","authorId":"3579085558836279","name":"RickSanchez","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/91da9e11212a16198232f78ed3ff2a9d","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3579085558836279","idStr":"3579085558836279"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Never stopped counting on it. as 7% af","content":"
(Bloomberg) -- China Evergrande Group shares posted wild swings on Monday, rallying as much as 7% after touching a four-year low in Hong Kong, squeezing short sellers.
\n
Shares of Chinese billionaire Hui Ka Yan’s flagship property developer jumped to as much as HK$10.60, rebounding from the lowest since May 2017. The stock has dropped about 50% since he clinched a deal with investors to avert a cash crunch in September.
\n
Short interest in Evergrande shares has surged threefold in three weeks, putting investors betting on further declines at risk of a so-called short squeeze if prices move against them. Compounding those risks, the developer has turned to its favored tactic of repurchasing shares to force bearish speculators out of their positions. It spent about HK$529 million ($68 million) on buybacks since June 7, according to Bloomberg calculations.
\n
It’s not surprising that some investors are betting on a short-term rebound after the shares lost more than 40% from their January high, Castor Pang, head of research at Core Pacific Yamaichi, said by phone. Investors may also speculating on further buybacks by Evergrande to combat short sellers, he said.
\n
Short interest in Evergrande reached 22.8% of the company’s free float as of Thursday, the highest level since September 2018, data compiled by IHS Markit and Bloomberg show.
\n
There are so few Evergrande shares readily available that traders would need about 22 days to cover their bearish bets -- or buy back borrowed stock to close out an open short position. That increases the risk of a short squeeze, when hedge funds are forced to liquidate their positions at increasingly higher prices.
\n
Worries over the future of the world’s most indebted developer have grown in recent weeks after affiliates missed payments and Caixin Media’s WeNews reported that regulators are looking into Evergrande’s ties to Shengjing Bank Co. in northern China. Bondholders have rushed for the exit too, with a key dollar note trading near its lowest level since April 2020.
\n
The selloff worsened after WeNews reported last week that a local government discussed with Evergrande about paring its stake in Shengjing Bank, and the banking watchdog said it would curb a key source of financing for developers to control risk.
\n
The plunge in the shares has hurt the wealth of founder Hui. At $17 billion, his net worth has tumbled by more than a third since September.
\n
Evergrande’s long-dated dollar bonds were almost unchanged on Monday even as some short-dated notes have staged a comeback. Its 8.75% note due 2025 is indicated at 72.3 cents on the dollar early Monday, according to Bloomberg-compiled prices.
","source":"lsy1612507957220","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Evergrande Bounces After Hitting Four-Year Low, Squeezing Shorts
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nEvergrande Bounces After Hitting Four-Year Low, Squeezing Shorts\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-06-21 11:47 GMT+8 Bloomberg\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
(Bloomberg) -- China Evergrande Group shares posted wild swings on Monday, rallying as much as 7% after touching a four-year low in Hong Kong, squeezing short sellers.\nShares of Chinese billionaire ...
\n\nSource Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{"03333":"中国恒大"},"source_url":"https://finance.yahoo.com/news/evergrande-bounces-hitting-four-low-025344866.html","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"1156318495","content_text":"(Bloomberg) -- China Evergrande Group shares posted wild swings on Monday, rallying as much as 7% after touching a four-year low in Hong Kong, squeezing short sellers.\nShares of Chinese billionaire Hui Ka Yan’s flagship property developer jumped to as much as HK$10.60, rebounding from the lowest since May 2017. Investors may also speculating on further buybacks by Evergrande to combat short sellers, he said.\nShort interest in Evergrande reached 22.8% of the company’s free float as of Thursday, the highest level since September 2018, data compiled by IHS Markit and Bloomberg show.\nThere are so few Evergrande shares readily available that traders would need about 22 days to cover their bearish bets -- or buy back borrowed stock to close out an open short position. That increases the risk of a short squeeze, when hedge funds are forced to liquidate their positions at increasingly higher prices.\nWorries over the future of the world’s most indebted developer have grown in recent weeks after affiliates missed payments and Caixin Media’s WeNews reported that regulators are looking into Evergrande’s ties to Shengjing Bank Co. in northern China. Bondholders have rushed for the exit too, with a key dollar note trading near its lowest level since April 2020.\nThe selloff worsened after WeNews reported last week that a local government discussed with Evergrande about paring its stake in Shengjing Bank, and the banking watchdog said it would curb a key source of financing for developers to control risk.\nThe plunge in the shares has hurt the wealth of founder Hui. At $17 billion, his net worth has tumbled by more than a third since September.\nEvergrande’s long-dated dollar bonds were almost unchanged on Monday even as some short-dated notes have staged a comeback. Its 8.75% note due 2025 is indicated at 72.3 cents on the dollar early Monday, according to Bloomberg-compiled prices.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"03333":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":965,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":167387818,"gmtCreate":1624247462734,"gmtModify":1703831508768,"author":{"id":"3579085558836279","authorId":"3579085558836279","name":"RickSanchez","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/91da9e11212a16198232f78ed3ff2a9d","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3579085558836279","idStr":"3579085558836279"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Mr T pities the fools who can't get a T (like me) in the 7th anniversary contest.","listText":"Mr T pities the fools who can't get a T (like me) in the 7th anniversary contest.","text":"Mr T pities the fools who can't get a T (like me) in the 7th anniversary contest.","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/167387818","repostId":"1154249454","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1154249454","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1624230573,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1154249454?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-21 07:09","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Nike, FedEx, Johnson & Johnson, Darden, and Other Stocks for Investors to Watch This Week","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1154249454","media":"barrons","summary":"A handful of notable companies will release their latest results toward the end of this week.Nike,FedEx,andDarden Restaurantswill report on Thursday, followed by CarMax and Paychex on Friday. That's understandable, with several of them delivering triple-digit and even four-digit percentage gains.
\n
However, what goes up can come down. Analysts don't expect the online frenzy fueling the ginormous jumps for some of the most popular stocks will be sustainable. Here are three meme stocks that Wall Street thinks will plunge by more than 20% within the next 12 months.
\n
AMC Entertainment
\n
AMC Entertainment(NYSE:AMC)ranks as the best-performing meme stock of all. Shares of the movie theater operator have skyrocketed close to 2,500% year to date.
\n
The consensus among analysts, though, is that the stock could lose 90% of its current value. Even the most optimistic analyst surveyed by Refinitiv has a price target for AMC that's more than 70% below the current share price.
\n
But isn't AMC's business picking up? Yep. The easing of restrictions has enabled the company to reopen 99% of its U.S. theaters. AMC could benefit as seating capacity limitations imposed by state and local governments are raised. Thereleases of multiple movies this summerand later this year that are likely to be hits should also help.
\n
However, Wall Street clearly believes that AMC's share price has gotten way ahead of its business prospects. The stock is trading at nearly eight times higher than it was before the COVID-19 pandemic.
\n
Clover Health Investments
\n
Only a few days ago, it looked like Clover Health Investments(NASDAQ:CLOV)might push AMC to the side as the hottest meme stock. Retail investors viewed Clover as a primeshort squeezecandidate.
\n
Since the beginning of June, shares of Clover Health have jumped more than 65%. Analysts, however, don't expect those gains to last. The average price target for the stock is 25% below the current share price.
\n
Clover Health's valuation does seem to have gotten out of hand. The healthcare stock currently trades at more than 170 times trailing-12-month sales. That's a nosebleed level, especially considering that the company is the subject of investigations by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission.
\n
Still, Clover Health could deliver improving financial results this year. The company hopes to significantly increase its membership by targeting the original Medicare program. This represents a major new market opportunity in addition to its current Medicare Advantage business.
\n
Sundial Growers
\n
At one point earlier this year, Sundial Growers(NASDAQ:SNDL)appeared to be a legitimate contender to become the biggest winner among meme stocks. The Canadian marijuana stock vaulted more than 520% higher year to date before giving up much of its gains. However, Sundial's share price has still more than doubled in 2021.
\n
Analysts anticipate that the pot stock could fall even further. The consensus price target for Sundial reflects a 23% discount to its current share price. One analyst even thinks the stock could sink 55%.
\n
There certainly are reasons to be pessimistic about Sundial's core cannabis business. The company's net cannabis revenue fell year over year in the first quarter of 2021. Although Sundial is taking steps that it hopes will turn things around, it remains to be seen if those efforts will succeed.
\n
Sundial's business deals could give investors reasons for optimism. After all, the company posted positive adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) in Q1 due to its investments.
\n
However, the cash that Sundial is using to make these investments has come at the cost of increased dilution of its stock. The company can't afford any additional dilution without having to resort to desperate measures to keep its listing on the Nasdaq stock exchange.
","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
3 Meme Stocks Wall Street Predicts Will Plunge More Than 20%
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n3 Meme Stocks Wall Street Predicts Will Plunge More Than 20%\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-06-19 09:13 GMT+8 fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Meme stocks have been all the rage so far this year. Some called the plan risky, though, saying that it could disrupt the nation's housing market.\nWhoever Biden appoints to permanently fill Calabria's role is unlikely to maintain that same approach. Prior to the presidential election, Beacon Policy Advisors partner Brandon Barford said that Biden was likely to use the FHFA as \"a tool to help with racial justice and economic inequality,\" which would represent a return to the approach taken under the Obama administration.\nSince Biden took office, his administration has worked to reinstate policies and regulations focused on promoting fair housing that were eliminated under Trump.\n\"I don't think there's any desire to have [Fannie and Freddie] be released under a Biden administration, or necessarily to have them hold higher capital, because that makes the pool they have to purchase mortgages smaller,\" Barford told MarketWatch last October.\nOthers previously suggested that Biden could attempt to go a step further and see Fannie and Freddie recast as utilities, a plan that some argue could reduce the risk the two enterprises pose to taxpayers. The utility model has been endorsed by some powerful lobbying groups, including the National Association of Realtors.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"STS":0.9,"FMCC":0.9,"FNMA":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":887,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":167363193,"gmtCreate":1624247690912,"gmtModify":1703831512211,"author":{"id":"3579085558836279","authorId":"3579085558836279","name":"RickSanchez","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/91da9e11212a16198232f78ed3ff2a9d","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3579085558836279","idStr":"3579085558836279"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"But, why?","listText":"But, why?","text":"But, why?","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/167363193","repostId":"1156318495","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1156318495","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1624247255,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1156318495?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-21 11:47","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Evergrande Bounces After Hitting Four-Year Low, Squeezing Shorts","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1156318495","media":"Bloomberg","summary":"(Bloomberg) -- China Evergrande Group shares posted wild swings on Monday, rallying as much as 7% af","content":"
