(NASDAQ:AMZN) investors will have the chance to vote on a stock split on May 25Its board of directors approved a 20-for-1 stock split earlier this monthAMZN stock has been falling since the company’s unfortunate earnings report last monthSource: Mike Mareen / Shutterstock.comAmazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) stock is trading in the red today despite its anticipated stock split coming later this month. Shares closed down more than 7% as investors consider jumping back into the discounted stock ahead of its split. On May 25, Amazon shareholders will have the chance to vote on the proposed 20-for-1 stock split. The split doesn’t have any direct affect on the stock’s value, or Amazon’s market capitalization, but rather divides each share of the company into 20 pieces. As such, using today’s price of $2,142.25 per share, each investor would hold 20 shares priced at $107.11.The split may come as a benefit to the company by offering investors a cheaper price point to invest in the business. Rather than needing to shell out the full $2,000 for one share, traders can buy in at a smaller price point.Should Amazon investors feel the move is prudent, the stock split will occur on June 3 of this year.Stock splits have been increasingly popular among large-cap tech companies. Alphabet (NASDAQ:GOOG, NASDAQ:GOOGL) also recently announced a split this past February.Given the company’s decline in share price recently, the chance to make Amazon stock a bit more appealing to traders seems like a strong opportunity for the company.AMZN Stock Falls Near 2-Year Low as Market DeclinesAmazon stock has seen better days in the market. Shares have plummeted in value since the company disclosed an apparent e-commerce slowdown in its recent earnings call on April 28.Indeed in its fiscal first quarter, the company saw its operating cash flow drop more than 40%, alongside decreased operating income. Amazon also reported a net loss of $3.8 billion in the March quarter, its first quarterly loss since 2015. Like most companies falling at the moment, Amazon cited inflation, the pandemic, and war in Ukraine as the primary culprits behind the online retailer’s slowed growth.Amazon investors will surely be waiting for May 25 to voice their thoughts on the proposed stock split.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"AMZN":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2565,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9067820433,"gmtCreate":1652444637622,"gmtModify":1676535101706,"author":{"id":"3569206385433687","authorId":"3569206385433687","name":"MohdShan","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/3ae4741b59ee1b4db722f2cf9f9bee6d","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3569206385433687","idStr":"3569206385433687"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"The joke of the day 🤣🤣🤣","listText":"The joke of the day 🤣🤣🤣","text":"The joke of the day 🤣🤣🤣","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9067820433","repostId":"1136234141","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":3447,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9061176487,"gmtCreate":1651591850591,"gmtModify":1676534932510,"author":{"id":"3569206385433687","authorId":"3569206385433687","name":"MohdShan","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/3ae4741b59ee1b4db722f2cf9f9bee6d","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3569206385433687","idStr":"3569206385433687"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"One day up and next day down. For the eighth day in a row, shares of the electric car superstar roared higher -- closed 1.48% higher on Thursday.A couple of positive news items today may explain why Tesla shares continue to zoom higher.Image source: Getty Images. So whatNews item No. 1: You probably heard last year when rental car kingpin Hertz said it was ordering 100,000 pricey new Teslas to add to its rental car fleet, right? At first, those were going to be largely Model 3 sedans, Tesla's cheapest electric car (if still not exactly cheap at $47,000). Well, last night, Reuters reported that Hertz will also be buying some Model Y crossovers from Tesla as well -- and those electro-buggies don't roll off the car lot for less than $63,000.Long story short, for every single Model Y Hertz buys from Tesla, instead of a Model 3, Tesla investors can expect to see 34% more revenue for their Tesla stock. Now whatSelling electric cars is good business for Tesla, accounting for about 95% of Tesla's $53.8 billion in revenue last year, according to data from S&P Global Market Intelligence. But electric cars don't go very far without batteries to operate them -- which brings us to news item No. 2:As Reuters also reported last night, one of Tesla's battery suppliers, LG Energy Solution, has announced that it will spend $1.4 billion to build a battery factory in Arizona. LG says the factory will supply both \"prominent start-ups\" and other car companies in North America, presumably referring to LG customers Lucid Group and also to Tesla.Reuters reports that the new LG factory won't reach \"mass production\" levels before 2024, but construction will begin in Q2 2022 -- which begins just eight days from today, and promises a relatively quick influx of new battery supplies for Tesla. Considering that Tesla CEO Elon Musk has highlighted battery supply as \"the limiting factor\" (emphasis added) in Tesla being able to ramp up car production over the next few years, LG's entry into Arizona can only be good news for Tesla stock. And that's exactly how Tesla investors are treating it today.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"TSLA":1}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":3745,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9034710816,"gmtCreate":1647962216982,"gmtModify":1676534285665,"author":{"id":"3569206385433687","authorId":"3569206385433687","name":"MohdShan","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/3ae4741b59ee1b4db722f2cf9f9bee6d","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3569206385433687","idStr":"3569206385433687"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Up to the moon","listText":"Up to the moon","text":"Up to the moon","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9034710816","repostId":"1111440361","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1111440361","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1647957835,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1111440361?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-03-22 22:03","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Nasdaq Index Rose Over 1% in Morning Trading while Dow Jones and S&P 500 Rose Around 0.8%","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1111440361","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"Nasdaq Index rose over 1% in morning trading while Dow Jones and S&P 500 rose around 0.8%.","content":"

Nasdaq Index rose over 1% in morning trading while Dow Jones and S&P 500 rose around 0.8%.

","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; Govt to draw S$6 billion from reserves to tackle Covid-19

The Government expects a deficit of S$3 billion for Budget 2022, equivalent to about 0.5 per cent of Singapore's annual economic output.

The Government is also seeking to drawdown S$6 billion from past reserves to fund upcoming Covid-19 health measures, which would take the total drawdown to S$42.9 billion over the course of the pandemic so far. This figure is less than the S$52 billion drawdown President Halimah Yacob agreed to for FY2020.

Assurance Package to offset GST hike increased to S$6.6 billion, with cash payouts for all S'porean adults

All adult Singaporeans can expect cash payouts of up to S$1,600 over the next five years. Lower income elderlies are also eligible for additional payments totalling up to S$900.

These are part of a S$640 million enhancement to the Assurance Package launched to cushion the hike in GST. The package includes more U-Save rebates, MediSave top-ups, CDC Vouchers and community grants.

GST increase to be staggered over 2 years, starting from Jan 2023

GST will be increased progressively, rising to 8 per cent with effect from Jan 1, 2023, and going up again to 9 per cent in 2024, Finance Minister Lawrence Wong announced.

Mr Wong said that the decision to stagger the increase was made in view of the prevailing overall situation, such as the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and inflation outlook, while balancing them with pressing revenue needs.

High earners to contribute more as taxes on personal income, property and luxury cars go up

Finance Minister Lawrence Wong said there is room for those who earn more to contribute more. Wealth taxes, he said, help to recirculate a portion of the wealth stock into the economy.

Changes to the property tax will not affect 93 per cent of owner-occupied property, including all HDB flats.

Younger workers eligible for Workfare, higher CPF basic retirement sum among moves to strengthen social compact

The Workfare Income Supplement scheme will be extended to younger workers, aged 30 to 34. The qualifying income for the Workfare Income Supplement scheme will also be raised from S$2,300 to S$2,500.

Schemes to help children from lower-income families like KickSTART and UPLIFT will also be expanded nationwide to benefit more families.

Carbon tax to go up 5 times to S$25 per tonne in 2024, as Govt aims for net-zero emissions by mid-century

This will lead to an increase of about S$4 per month in utility bills for an average household living in a four-room HDB flat, though additional rebates in the form of GST Vouchers will be provided to cushion the impact, Finance Minister Lawrence Wong said.

Investments in digital capabilities, people development including 6G tech and helping mid-career workers

Finance Minister Lawrence Wong said Singapore needs to stay ahead in the race by investing in various capabilities. This figure is less than the S$52 billion drawdown President Halimah Yacob agreed to for FY2020.Assurance Package to offset GST hike increased to S$6.6 billion, with cash payouts for all S'porean adultsAll adult Singaporeans can expect cash payouts of up to S$1,600 over the next five years. Lower income elderlies are also eligible for additional payments totalling up to S$900.These are part of a S$640 million enhancement to the Assurance Package launched to cushion the hike in GST. The package includes more U-Save rebates, MediSave top-ups, CDC Vouchers and community grants.GST increase to be staggered over 2 years, starting from Jan 2023GST will be increased progressively, rising to 8 per cent with effect from Jan 1, 2023, and going up again to 9 per cent in 2024, Finance Minister Lawrence Wong announced.Mr Wong said that the decision to stagger the increase was made in view of the prevailing overall situation, such as the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and inflation outlook, while balancing them with pressing revenue needs.High earners to contribute more as taxes on personal income, property and luxury cars go upFinance Minister Lawrence Wong said there is room for those who earn more to contribute more. Wealth taxes, he said, help to recirculate a portion of the wealth stock into the economy.Changes to the property tax will not affect 93 per cent of owner-occupied property, including all HDB flats.Younger workers eligible for Workfare, higher CPF basic retirement sum among moves to strengthen social compactThe Workfare Income Supplement scheme will be extended to younger workers, aged 30 to 34. The qualifying income for the Workfare Income Supplement scheme will also be raised from S$2,300 to S$2,500.Schemes to help children from lower-income families like KickSTART and UPLIFT will also be expanded nationwide to benefit more families.Carbon tax to go up 5 times to S$25 per tonne in 2024, as Govt aims for net-zero emissions by mid-centuryThis will lead to an increase of about S$4 per month in utility bills for an average household living in a four-room HDB flat, though additional rebates in the form of GST Vouchers will be provided to cushion the impact, Finance Minister Lawrence Wong said.Investments in digital capabilities, people development including 6G tech and helping mid-career workersFinance Minister Lawrence Wong said Singapore needs to stay ahead in the race by investing in various capabilities. These include the digital realm, innovation and the nation's people, he added. As a first priority, the Government will spend S$200 million in the years ahead to build digital capabilities in business and workers. Other objectives include improving infrastructure, making innovation pervasive and strengthening local enterprises.Govt to strengthen 'collective risk sharing' and social compact, with the better-off contributing moreFinance Minister Lawrence Wong described a social compact for Singapore in which every Singaporean has a stake in society, and that “everyone’s contributions matter”.Singapore will not follow the approach of welfare states in Europe, said Mr Wong, but the Government will need to invest more in people and social infrastructure in the coming decade.S$560m immediate support for households via CDC vouchers, utilities rebates and education top-upsFinance Minister Lawrence Wong said that the Government is closely monitoring the risk of rising inflation and cost of living, and he recognises the immediate concerns of businesses and households.\"(We) will provide significant additional support in this Budget to help them tide over the current period of higher prices,\" he added.S$500m immediate relief for businesses, including one-off cash payout for SMEs worst hit by Covid-19 curbsA S$500 million Jobs and Business Support Package, which will provide targeted help for workers and firms hit hard by Covid-19 restrictions, will be rolled out this year. It's difficult for us to predict, so we try to focus on the short term,\" he said. With few rival phones debuting in the holiday shopping season, the iPhone 13, which started shipping days before the quarter began, led to worldwide phone sales revenue for Apple of $71.6 billion, a 9% increase from the 2020 holiday season that handily beat Wall Street targets, according to Refinitiv data.Apple's smartphone market share in China reached a record 23% in the holiday quarter, when it was the top-selling vendor there for the first time in six years, research firm Counterpoint Research reported on Wednesday. The company's overall fiscal first-quarter revenue was $123.9 billion, 11% up from last year and higher than analysts' average estimate of $118.7 billion. Profit was $34.6 billion, or $2.10 per share, compared with analysts' expectations of $31 billion and $1.89 per share. The pandemic has accelerated adoption of digital tools for communication, learning and entertainment, powering Apple to blowout sales across each of the company's segments, including computers, accessories and tablets.Apple's services business, which covers paid apps such as Apple TV+, Apple Music and Apple Fitness, also has seen a big bump. Services revenue rose 24% to $19.5 billion, topping analysts' estimates of $18.6 billion. The company has 785 million paying subscribers across its offerings, an increase from 620 million a year ago and 745 million last quarter.Sales for iPads fell 14% to $7.25 billion compared with analyst estimates of $8.2 billion, seeming to confirm industry predictions that iPads would have low priority for any scarce parts.Sales for Macs rose 25% to $10.9 billion compared with estimates of $9.5 billion, and sales for accessories rose 13% to $14.7 billion compared with estimates of $14.6 billion. For investors, the growing services business is helping mitigate production challenges. Apple is trading at 27 times expected earnings over the next 12 months. While down from as much as 35 a year ago, it remains above the company's five-year average of 20 times expected earnings, according to Refinitiv.Apple is facing antitrust pressure in the United States and Europe that could lead to new regulations that cut into its services revenue.Late last month, the Dutch Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) ordered Apple to make changes for apps on offer in the Apple App Store in the Netherlands by Jan. 15 or face fines, after it found that the U.S. company had abused its market dominance by requiring dating app developers to exclusively use Apple's in-app payment system.Supply chain issues are dragging on and concern remains about how long it will take Apple to deliver its next big product, such as an augmented reality headset or an electric vehicle.Apple had reported strong customer response to its latest release, the AirTag, when the accessory began shipping in the fiscal third quarter of 2021.Apple posted a rare revenue miss in the fiscal quarter ended Sept. 25, which CEO Tim Cook attributed to pandemic-related supply constraints and manufacturing disruptions that together cost the company an estimated $6 billion in sales. But smaller rivals are struggling to keep up with production, leading to Apple market share gains in regions such as China, said Angelo Zino of CFRA Research in a research note.\"Since Apple has many customized components going into the iPhones, Macs, Apple Watch and others and the scale (volume and price) at which it procures, Apple has been able to lock-in suppliers’ capacities to timely produce those parts with lesser delays,\" said Neil Shah of Counterpoint Research.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"AAPL":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1173,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9004332656,"gmtCreate":1642503201285,"gmtModify":1676533716070,"author":{"id":"3569206385433687","authorId":"3569206385433687","name":"MohdShan","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/3ae4741b59ee1b4db722f2cf9f9bee6d","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3569206385433687","idStr":"3569206385433687"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Hopefully drop again tomorrow 😁","listText":"Hopefully drop again tomorrow 😁","text":"Hopefully drop again tomorrow 😁","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":8,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9004332656","repostId":"1194215776","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":998,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9002118149,"gmtCreate":1641944882563,"gmtModify":1676533664214,"author":{"id":"3569206385433687","authorId":"3569206385433687","name":"MohdShan","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/3ae4741b59ee1b4db722f2cf9f9bee6d","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3569206385433687","idStr":"3569206385433687"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Time to Cheong for all counters 😁","listText":"Time to Cheong for all counters 😁","text":"Time to Cheong for all counters 😁","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9002118149","repostId":"2202787736","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1310,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9006769041,"gmtCreate":1641854259234,"gmtModify":1676533653430,"author":{"id":"3569206385433687","authorId":"3569206385433687","name":"MohdShan","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/3ae4741b59ee1b4db722f2cf9f9bee6d","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3569206385433687","idStr":"3569206385433687"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Buy more when price is down😁","listText":"Buy more when price is down😁","text":"Buy more when price is down😁","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9006769041","repostId":"1117665745","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1117665745","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1641822153,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1117665745?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-01-10 21:42","market":"us","language":"en","title":"How to Beat the S&P 500 in 2022","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1117665745","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"Famous investor Warren Buffett is famous for (among other things)winning a bet that money parked in ","content":"

Famous investor Warren Buffett is famous for (among other things)winning a bet that money parked in an S&P 500 index fund would outperform professional money managers over 10 years. It's not easy to consistently beat a collection of the world's largest and most influential companies.

But can it be done over one year? I think it can, and I'm going to show you the crazy blueprint to do just that in 2022. Here is why and how you could beat the S&P 500 this year.

The anatomy of the S&P 500

The S&P 500is an index constructed by a committee and owned by S&P Dow Jones Indices, a joint venture majority-owned byS&P Global, which specializes in analytics and information for the financial markets. The index includes 500 companies generally considered the most prominent in the United States and traditionally viewed as the best overall benchmark for the U.S. stock market.

But these 500 companies aren't represented equally. The top 10 highest-weighted members make up roughly 30% of the entire index. These companies include:

Apple

Microsoft

Amazon

Alphabet(Class A shares)

Tesla

Alphabet (Class C shares)

MetaPlatforms

Nvidia

BerkshireHathaway(Class B shares)

UnitedHealthGroup

That leaves the other 70% for the other 490 stocks. A broad market movement such as a bull market can move the index, but these larger members can also influence the index if their price movement is dramatic enough.

Many top members have stretched valuations

A similar situation could be playing out in the index right now -- the S&P 500 is only 3% away from its all-time high. But the broader stock market doesn't seem relatively healthy if you look closer.

For example, let's look at the 500 stocks in the index. Only 357 of them are above their 200-day moving average, which indicates a stock's price momentum by averaging its closing price over the past 200 market sessions. In other words, more than one in four S&P 500 components are struggling right now.

If we look at the Nasdaq, a fellow index that concentrates on technology stocks, just over one in four stocks are above their 200-day moving average. Put another way, more than three-quarters of the Nasdaq's stocks have negative price momentum!

It seems that tech companies are broadly having a tough time right now, which could be explained by the ongoing high inflation threatening to cause increased interest rates. Higher interest rates cancause stock valuations to decrease.

Some mega-cap stocks that sit at the top of the S&P 500 have remained popular, which has resulted in continued price appreciation and high valuations.

AAPL PE RATIODATA BYYCHARTS.PE = PRICE-TO-EARNINGS.

Now, the S&P 500 is at a price-to-earnings (PE) ratio of 24.5, roughly 50% higher than its historical average of 16. Nobody knows what will happen in the future, but it seems that the weakness of lower-weighted stocks in the major indexes could indicate the actual condition of the markets. If the mega-caps finally begin to correct, it could accelerate the decline of the S&P 500.

Going against the grain for gains

This scenario is an opportunity to outperform the market. Human nature makes it feel "safe" to go buy the stocks that have already been going higher, but the real opportunity might be in the beaten-down stocks, those that have lost 50% to 80% over the past year.

It doesn't mean chasing low-quality stocks that are overly speculative or businesses losing tons of money. But the overall sentiment in the growth universe has brought most stocks down; quality names trading at expensive valuations have become reasonable or even cheap in some instances.

If growth stocks begin recovering this year, we could see the opposite of 2021 occur, when the S&P marched higher while many growth stocks floundered.

Understand the risks

There's a large gap between the largest stocks in the indexes and the smaller ones underneath. I think there is a good chance that this gap will close, but nobody knows for sure when that will happen.

The price movement that happened throughout most of 2021 may continue through 2022. Perhaps a significant economic event will occur that is unforeseen and changes everything.

The point is that you can't know for sure; you can only look at facts to get a sense of what's happening around you. The best way to position your investments for success is to identify high-quality stocks whether small-, mid-, or large-cap, take a long-term approach with your holdings, and manage your risk appetite. You Could Blame Joe Biden.","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1100128328","media":"Barrons","summary":"Stock inTesla is lower after CNBC reported that the electric-vehicle company had a firein its Fremon","content":"
Stock inTesla is lower after CNBC reported that the electric-vehicle company had a firein its Fremont, Calif. plant, but the blaze probably isn’t the reason for the dip.

Fires are just a normal, albeit unfortunate, operating problem for any manufacturer. Tesla (ticker: TSLA) didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment about the fire or the damage it may have caused.

President Joe Biden is probably responsible for the share-price decline, which left the stock about 2.7% lower in premarket trading, at about $680. It has beena wild weekfor Tesla stockholders. Shares started off the week at about $675,traded above $700and fell to about $560 before bounding back, up 4.7% Thursday, to just under $700.

Nothing Tesla has done appears to be the reason for the recent volatility. It’s all about interest rates.

That is where the president comes into the picture. Thursday evening, he addressed the nation, focusing on putting Covid-19 in the rearview mirror a year after the World Health Organization declared that a pandemic had begun.

“All adult Americans will be eligible to get a vaccine no later than May 1,” said the president, adding the federal government is setting up hundreds of vaccination sites and procuring millions more vaccine doses.

It’s good news, but the market is selling off Friday morning. For stocks, the speech represents almost too much of a good thing. The economy is reopening and, as a result, bond yields are rising, putting pressure on high-growth stocks.

Futures on the Nasdaq Composite Index, home to many highflying tech stocks, are down 1.6%.Dow Jones Industrial Averagefutures, on the other hand, are flat.

Higher yields hurt richly valued, fast-growing companies more than others for a couple of reasons. One, they makes funding growth more expensive. Two, high- growth companies are expected generate most of their cash far in the future. That cash is a little less valuable in present terms when rates are high, compared with when rates are low. In a higher-rate environment, investors have more options to earn interest today, which puts pressure on high-growth stocks’ valuations.

A Friday dip, however, doesn’t mean the end of the bull market in Tesla, EV stocks or the Nasdaq. Getting the economy back on its feet is a good thing. Tesla (ticker: TSLA) didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment about the fire or the damage it may have caused.President Joe Biden is probably responsible for the share-price decline, which left the stock about 2.7% lower in premarket trading, at about $680. It has beena wild weekfor Tesla stockholders. Shares started off the week at about $675,traded above $700and fell to about $560 before bounding back, up 4.7% Thursday, to just under $700.Nothing Tesla has done appears to be the reason for the recent volatility. It’s all about interest rates. That is where the president comes into the picture. Thursday evening, he addressed the nation, focusing on putting Covid-19 in the rearview mirror a year after the World Health Organization declared that a pandemic had begun.“All adult Americans will be eligible to get a vaccine no later than May 1,” said the president, adding the federal government is setting up hundreds of vaccination sites and procuring millions more vaccine doses. It’s good news, but the market is selling off Friday morning. For stocks, the speech represents almost too much of a good thing. The economy is reopening and, as a result, bond yields are rising, putting pressure on high-growth stocks.Futures on the Nasdaq Composite Index, home to many highflying tech stocks, are down 1.6%.Dow Jones Industrial Averagefutures, on the other hand, are flat.Higher yields hurt richly valued, fast-growing companies more than others for a couple of reasons. One, they makes funding growth more expensive. Two, high- growth companies are expected generate most of their cash far in the future. That cash is a little less valuable in present terms when rates are high, compared with when rates are low. In a higher-rate environment, investors have more options to earn interest today, which puts pressure on high-growth stocks’ valuations.A Friday dip, however, doesn’t mean the end of the bull market in Tesla, EV stocks or the Nasdaq. Getting the economy back on its feet is a good thing. Investors just need a chance to adjust to the changing landscape.“There’s a good chance you, your families and friends will be able to get together in your backyard or in your neighborhood and have a cookout …and celebrate Independence Day,” Biden said. That is great news.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"TSLA":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":512,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9012201507,"gmtCreate":1649334723875,"gmtModify":1676534493222,"author":{"id":"3569206385433687","authorId":"3569206385433687","name":"MohdShan","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/3ae4741b59ee1b4db722f2cf9f9bee6d","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3569206385433687","idStr":"3569206385433687"},"themes":[],"htmlText":" One day up, next day down. And that's exactly how Tesla investors are treating it today.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"TSLA":1}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":3745,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":373628205,"gmtCreate":1618843569407,"gmtModify":1704715798262,"author":{"id":"3569206385433687","authorId":"3569206385433687","name":"MohdShan","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/3ae4741b59ee1b4db722f2cf9f9bee6d","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3569206385433687","idStr":"3569206385433687"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Going gg Liao ","listText":"Going gg Liao ","text":"Going gg Liao","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/373628205","repostId":"1190378182","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"1190378182","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1618839799,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1190378182?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-04-19 21:43","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Tesla's stock fell more than 4% after reports of fatal crash of vehicle with apparently no driver","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1190378182","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"Tesla's stock fell more than 4% in Monday morning trading after reports of fatal crash of vehicle wi","content":"
Tesla's stock fell more than 4% in Monday morning trading after reports of fatal crash of vehicle with apparently no driver.

Police officials in Texasprobing the deadly crash of a Tesla vehiclesay they are nearly certain that no one was behind the wheel at the time. Govt to draw S$6 billion from reserves to tackle Covid-19

These include the digital realm, innovation and the nation's people, he added.

As a first priority, the Government will spend S$200 million in the years ahead to build digital capabilities in business and workers. Other objectives include improving infrastructure, making innovation pervasive and strengthening local enterprises.

Govt to strengthen 'collective risk sharing' and social compact, with the better-off contributing more

Finance Minister Lawrence Wong described a social compact for Singapore in which every Singaporean has a stake in society, and that “everyone’s contributions matter”.

Singapore will not follow the approach of welfare states in Europe, said Mr Wong, but the Government will need to invest more in people and social infrastructure in the coming decade.

S$560m immediate support for households via CDC vouchers, utilities rebates and education top-ups

Finance Minister Lawrence Wong said that the Government is closely monitoring the risk of rising inflation and cost of living, and he recognises the immediate concerns of businesses and households.

"(We) will provide significant additional support in this Budget to help them tide over the current period of higher prices," he added.

S$500m immediate relief for businesses, including one-off cash payout for SMEs worst hit by Covid-19 curbs

A S$500 million Jobs and Business Support Package, which will provide targeted help for workers and firms hit hard by Covid-19 restrictions, will be rolled out this year. The package will include a new small business grant with eligible companies receiving S$1,000 per local worker, up to S$10,000.

The Jobs Growth Incentive scheme will also be extended for six months but only for companies that hire mature workers, ex-offenders or persons with disabilities.

","source":"lsy1645178520369","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Singapore Budget 2022 Key Announcements and Highlights
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nSingapore Budget 2022 Key Announcements and Highlights\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2022-02-18 18:01 GMT+8 TodayOnline\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
SINGAPORE — The 2022 Budget statement was delivered by Finance Minister Lawrence Wong in Parliament on Feb 18 at 3.30pm.Here are the key announcements and highlights from Mr Wong's maiden Budget ...
\n\nSource Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{"STI.SI":"富时新加坡海峡指数"},"source_url":"https://www.todayonline.com/singapore/live-singapore-budget-2022-1817106","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"1192590984","content_text":"SINGAPORE — The 2022 Budget statement was delivered by Finance Minister Lawrence Wong in Parliament on Feb 18 at 3.30pm.Here are the key announcements and highlights from Mr Wong's maiden Budget speech.S$3 billion overall deficit expected; Govt to draw S$6 billion from reserves to tackle Covid-19The Government expects a deficit of S$3 billion for Budget 2022, equivalent to about 0.5 per cent of Singapore's annual economic output. The Government is also seeking to drawdown S$6 billion from past reserves to fund upcoming Covid-19 health measures, which would take the total drawdown to S$42.9 billion over the course of the pandemic so far.
