$Amazon.com(AMZN)$Amazon.com ranks as one of the favorite stocks for three multibillionaire investors. It's David Tepper's Appaloosa Management hedge fund's second-largest holding. Amazon is George Soros' Soros Fund Management's fourth-largest position. And while the stock is lower on Warren Buffett's list, his Berkshire Hathaway owns more than $1.3 billion worth of Amazon shares. So far this year, Amazon hasn't done much for these super-wealthy investors' portfolios. The stock has slid partially as a result of the overall market sell-off. However, Amazon also disappointed investors with slower revenue growth. But it's a pretty safe bet that Tepper, Soros, and Buffett remain confident about Amazon's long-term prospects. The company still dominates e

$Meta Platforms, Inc.(META)$  Meta Platforms (META), formerly Facebook, has been on an elevator ride up since November as the firm finally committed to cutting costs as its top-line growth slows. Meta, like Amazon and others over-hired during the pandemic boom. Meta said in mid-March that would cut another roughly 10K jobs in the coming months in what Mark Zuckerberg is calling the “year of efficiency.” The social media titan’s disappointing 2022 is now in the rearview and it is ready to return to top and bottom line growth as it focuses once again on its core businesses Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, all of which will bounce back from a bad year for digital advertising because its reach is out of this world. Meta’s ‘monthly active people

$Meta Platforms, Inc.(META)$The most notable cheap stock is Meta Platforms (née Facebook). Meta is priced at 3.5 times run-rate revenue, 12 times earnings and under 8 times EBITDA. The earnings are suppressed by large expenditures on a future 3-D world (the “metaverse”) which presumably has lots of revenue opportunities (but which strains our sense of credulity). Whatever – the traditional business has had revenue growth for over a decade and the revenue growth has never gone under 20 percent. Realistically it will now though. Competition from TikTok is a threat, as is increased regulation. Finally, the original Facebook plaform (but not Instagram) has declining appeal to young people. In the twelve months ending 31 March 2022, the company repurch

$Zoom(ZM)$Zoom ZM, -2.07% posted fiscal second-quarter net income of $45.7 million, or 15 cents a share, on revenue of $1.1 billion, up from $1.02 billion a year ago. After adjusting for stock compensation and other effects, Zoom reported earnings of $1.05 a share, down from $1.36 a share last year. Analysts surveyed by FactSet had expected adjusted net income of 94 cents a share on revenue of $1.12 billion. The better-than-expected earnings were undercut, however, by a chopped forecast for the full year. Zoom executives said they now expect full-year adjusted earnings of $3.66 to $3.69 a share on revenue of roughly $4.39 billion, down from $3.70 to $3.77 a share on sales of $4.53 billion to $4.55 billion. For the third quarter, they expect 82 to 83

$Invesco QQQ Trust(QQQ)$Markets picked up in Monday’s session where they left off Friday: higher. In what looks a bit like taking a lead off first base with expectations that tomorrow’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) print for August will continue to head lower, the Dow gained +227 points, +0.71% with 27 of its 30 stocks closing in the green; the S&P 500 saw all 11 sectors finish in positive territory, +1.06%; while the Nasdaq led all major indices, +154 points or +1.27%. The small-cap Russell 2000 wasn’t far off: +1.23% on the day.

$General Motors(GM)$The U.S. car industry continues to build out its own electric-vehicle supply chain. That will help all auto makers achieve their EV ambitions, including Ford Motor, General Motors and Tesla.Hopefully, reshoring supply will mean lower costs. It will certainly lessen the industry's dependence on China for supply of key EV parts.Friday, The Wall Street Journal reported that Panasonic (6752. Japan) was looking to put a new EV battery factory in Oklahoma. In July, Panasonic announced a new battery facility destined for Kansas that would create up to 4,000 jobs.

$FuelCell(FCEL)$As mid-term elections near, we’re approaching the 11th hour in respect to how many promises President Joe Biden will fulfill. One of the central tenets of Biden’s economic agenda had been support for climate change investments. For hydrogen stocks Plug Power (NASDAQ:PLUG), FuelCell Energy (NASDAQ:FCEL) and Bloom Energy (NYSE:BE), this is perhaps more important than any other sector. That’s because green hydrogen isn’t yet commonplace in the United States. Far from it. The infrastructure needed to support hydrogen as a viable fuel source is significant — and it likely won’t come about without government support.Accordingly, hydrogen stocks are revving up on today’s news that Biden may soon issue executive action on climate change.

$Alibaba(BABA)$the cloud computing division is … an $11 billion revenue business that I expect will be $25 billion revenue in three yearsIf Alibaba generates the type of cash that it is [making], it’s not a value trap at these levels. Now, if it’s … only at low single digits, it’s going to turn out to be a value trapAlibaba is one of “less than 10 companies globally” that generate $15 billion in free cash flow, the money a company has on hand after paying off its operating expenses and capital expenditure.
