So far, it seems that virtual meetings have attracted a larger crowd than in-person meetings. A small survey of 10 multi-disciplinary conferences in the United States shows that compared with previous years, most conferences in 2021 will have higher attendance rates, some even as high as 3 to 4 times. And because virtual meetings are much larger than in-person meetings, it is relatively easier to accommodate additional attendees at a small additional cost to organizers.
