It is a night where the unknown is embraced, not feared. So which is better?  The answer is we need both. Diwali is about renewal, gratitude & the triumph of good over evil.  It is about family, food, rituals and reflection. Halloween is about imagination, having fun with creative disguises & laughter with family & friends. My family celebrate both festivals.  We will go to Little India to check out the lights & eat some delicious curries. I’m more drawn to the warmth and color of Diwali this year. ✨ Little India looks magical when it’s filled with lamps, Rangoli art, and festive music — the scents of spices and sweets make the whole place come alive. It’s such a joyful celebration of light and togetherness that truly brightens the city. I love how every corner feels so vibrant and welcoming during this time. I plan to visit the Indian Heritage Centre to enjoy the festive vibes and maybe join a henna or flower garland workshop. The fact that admission is free makes it even better! Maybe I am too traditional, but I definitely prefer Diwali to Halloween. Halloween to me is all about trying to be spooky to scare people and I cannot figure out why I should be spending money going to universal studios to be scared. Also, friends who have gone for it in previous years have not given fantastic reviews. I am drawn to the beautiful lamps of Diwali, flower garland, henna art and definitely the festive snacks. These bring back memories of my friendships with my Indian friends which are so crucial in multi-racial Singapore. Yes. Diwali’s spirit has brighten the whole city. Is a long weekend for SG. Especially the GCE O level students.This allowed them extra days to prepare for their O level and Most workers have longer rest. As for Universal Studios, I went there last 2 year for Halloween,so this year not going anymore. Enjoy the long weekend .Sat sun and Monday.
