Is Space a Core Investment Theme for 2026?

As the global push toward “space infrastructure” accelerates, companies with proven execution and real delivery capabilities may be poised for a broad re-rating. One name increasingly in focus is Rocket Lab. In 2025, Rocket Lab completed 21 flawless launches and secured an $816 million contract from the U.S. Space Development Agency, a deal many view as comparable in strategic value to Palantir’s early government contracts. Is Space a core investment theme for 2026? Would you choose Rocket Lab or any other companies?

The 2026 Space Outlook: Beyond SpaceX, What Investors Should Watch The global space economy showed fantastic growth in 2025 and is looking to continue the momentum in 2026. The expansion is being driven by a combination of technological, commercial, and geopolitical factors. Going forward, the space sector is forecasted to be valued at $1.8 trillion by 2035, according to Aranca. President Donald Trump issued an executive order entitled "Ensuring American Space Superiority" last December. The document enshrined the U.S. goal to put humans back on the moon by 2028 and defend space from weapon threats. Satellite stocks including $Planet Labs Pbc(PL)$  , $EchoStar(SATS)$  , and

🚀 Is Space a Core Investment Theme for 2026? 2026 could be a breakout year for the space economy, and it’s worth asking whether space should be a core investment theme in a portfolio. ✨ Commercialisation is accelerating Space is no longer driven only by governments. Private companies are building real revenue streams through satellite broadband, launch services, and space infrastructure. 📡 Rising demand for connectivity and data Global demand for broadband, Earth observation, and data services continues to grow, and satellites are becoming essential infrastructure. 🛰️ Lower launch costs are expanding the market Reusable rockets and more frequent launches are reducing the cost of access to space, allowing more companies to participate and innovate. 📊 Long-term growth potential The space sec

🚀 Is Space a Core Investment Theme for 2026? From “Moonshots” to Infrastructure Plays For years, space investing was treated as speculative — long timelines, weak economics, and too many promises. That narrative is changing. As governments accelerate spending on space-based infrastructure — communications, navigation, missile tracking, and Earth observation — space is starting to resemble defense + cloud + logistics, not science fiction. The key shift? 👉 Execution now matters more than vision. ⸻ 🛰️ Rocket Lab: From Launch Provider to Space Prime Contractor One company increasingly at the center of this shift is Rocket Lab (RKLB). 2025 execution highlights: • 21 flawless launches — no failures, no delays • Proven cadence, not one-off success • End-to-end capability: launch + spacecraft + sy
No I don't think space theme is core. It's a fad.  Comes and goes like the other themes of nuclear and quantum.  In the end, only companies that show real and strong consistent growth will survive. Not hype.  Good for trading but bad for investing.  I'd rather go for profitable companies that show strong growth and are undervalued.
The space industry is experiencing significant momentum due to rapid innovation and growing investor interest. It is projected to become a trillion-dollar industry. Here's an overview of the current trends and market outlook: Investment Theme for 2026 HSBC Group identifies disruptive technologies, including aerospace and security, as a major investment theme for 2026, driven by innovation spurred by artificial intelligence (AI). Geopolitical realignments and security priorities are increasing defense spending, while commercial aviation sees strong demand. New technologies are reshaping space, defense, and cybersecurity, opening commercial opportunities in autonomous systems and small satellites. The space economy's growth is supported by rising interest in space tourism, the expanding role

To The Moon! Why Space is the Ultimate Core Investment Theme of 2026

🌟🌟🌟If 2025 is the year of AI, 2026 will be the year that Space will be a core investment theme.  Space is the new frontier of critical infrastructure, national defense and global connectivity.  It is no longer a niche for dreamers.  With the space economy projected to reach USD 1.8 trillion by 2035, investing in this sector is driven by a thrilling mix of boundless potential and heart pounding risk. The Space Engine Room: Key Subsectors of the Space Economy  To understand why the new space race is so exciting, let's look at the 3 pillars holding up the stars: 1.  Launch Services (The Gatekeepers):  This is the high octane world of rockets, focused on rapid reusability and slashing the cost of getting to orbit.  Without the space "taxis" to send into orbit

From my perspective, space is moving from a speculative narrative into a real infrastructure theme, and 2026 could be a key inflection point. Governments are no longer just funding exploration—they're building persistent systems for communications, defense, navigation, and earth observation. Once space is viewed as infrastructure rather than aspiration, valuation frameworks begin to change. Rocket Lab $Rocket Lab USA, Inc.(RKLB)$  stands out to me because of execution, not hype. Completing 21 flawless launches in 2025 proves operational reliability, which is the true currency in this industry. The $816 million Space Development Agency contract is especially important—not just for revenue, but for credibility. It

Yes and surely it will be! Space is likely to be a core investment theme heading into 2026, driven by technological, commercial, and strategic forces that extend well beyond niche moonshots. Many analysts and investors are seeing it as a compelling long-term theme rather than a short-lived fad

Are you bullish on Rocket Lab's $90 target?: 50:50 I would say. Target of $90.00 is primarily driven by it securing a $805 million contract from the SDA for 18 missile-tracking satellites which is the largest in its history. Optimistic goal and depends on its delivery capability. As of now Rocket Lab presents a high-growth high-risk opportunity as it has potential but currently unprofitable.  SpaceX vs Rocket Lab: which one are you bullish?: tricky question as Rocket Lab is now listed while SpaceX isn't. Between the two, if rumours are true, an IPO is targeted for 2026 at a potential valuation of $1.5 trillion. So, yeah while the head points to SpaceX the heart points to Rocket Lab.

The Space Race of 2026: Rocket Lab vs SpaceX

🌟🌟🌟Is $Rocket Lab USA, Inc.(RKLB)$ a serious challenger to SpaceX?  I believe that Rocket Lab is quickly becoming the investable alternative that Wall Street has been dreaming of.  While SpaceX is a massive private behemoth, Rocket Lab is publicly traded and executing flawlessly.  RKLB's share price is up a whopping 183% year todate, like a rocket to the moon! Needham's USD 90 Target : Bullish or Myth? Needham analyst Ryan Koontz is bullish on Rocket Lab with a Price Target of USD 90.  His thesis is built on solid quantifiable catalysts that are aligning for a stellar 2026 for Rocket Lab: 1. When I look at Rocket Lab, I do see a credible and increasingly important player in the space launch ecosystem, especially as global demand for launch capacity continues to grow. The company has executed well in smallsat launches with Electron and has built a meaningful space systems business, which gives it more diversified revenue than many pure-launch startups. The Neutron rocket, if delivered on time and within budget, could materially expand Rocket Lab's addressable market and justify some of the recent bullish analyst targets. That said, I'm more cautious about the $90 price target in the near term. Neutron remains the key swing factor, and until we see clear technical milestones and commercial contracts translating into recurring cash flow, expectations may be running ahead of funda
