About 162 million Americans, or 62% of U.S. adults, own stock.

The bottom 50% of U.S. adults hold only 1% of stocks, worth $480 billion.
Dollar Cost Averaging With SPY ETF
The following is extracted from an Investopedia article that illustrates the benefit of DCA over trying to time the market.
Total Invested via DCA: $81,000 Value of Shares: $128,130 Below are three charts:
Price of SPY shares: The first depicts the price per share for the SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY) as it shifts prices from 2018 to 2024.
Shares bought each month: Putting away $1,000 monthly, regardless of the price, the second chart depicts the number of shares bought each month, which shifts based on the price of SPY. Since the price has generally gone up, the number of shares bought has gone down.
Value of your SPY shares: By buying more shares when prices were lower and fewer when prices were higher, investors could take advantage of long-term growth while minimizing the risks associated with trying to time the market.
Conclusion
DCA is a strategy that has been recommended by several investors. If we choose ETF for the S&P500, it is deemed to be less risky. For people who do not have the luxury of time to research, this seems to be a “feasible” option.
I recommend researching before investing. There is always a risk but the risk-reward for such ETFs is deemed “safer”. Safer is a lesser risk, never without risks.
Here is wishing all safe investing.
