Malaysia Smelting Reports Higher Attributable Profit in Q1

Malaysia Smelting (SGX:NPW, KLSE:MSC) attributable profit to owners jumped to 42.9 million ringgit in the first quarter of the year from 7.7 million ringgit a year earlier, according to a Friday filing with the Singapore Exchange.

Earnings per share came in at 0.051 ringgit compared with 0.009 ringgit in the year-ago period.

The dual-listed producer of metals and tin-based products' revenue climbed year over year to 457.0 million ringgit from 369.8 million ringgit.

The company's board recommended a final single-tier dividend of 0.04 ringgit per share, to be paid on June 16. A special dividend of the same amount was also declared by the board.
