History has consistently shown that, due to innovation and execution, today's largest publicly traded companies are unlikely to retain their pedestal position for a significant length of time.As an example, just one of the 10 largest publicly traded companies in 1999 is still in the top 10 (Microsoft). Meanwhile, previous giants like Intel, Nokia, and American International Group have fallen far down the pecking order, in terms of market cap.Chances are that electric vehicle (EV) kingpin Tesla will also be dethroned as one of the world's largest publicly traded companies.Image source: Getty Images.Tesla is the fifth-largest publicly traded stock... for nowAs of the closing bell last week, a single share of Tesla would set an investor back more than $1,000, which equates to a hearty market cap of $1.04 trillion. That makes Tesla the fifth-largest publicly traded company in the U.S., and only the sixth to ever reach the $1 trillion valuation plateau. There are certainly valid reasons why Tesla's shares have skyrocketed over the past decade. For instance, it's the first automaker in over five decades that built itself from the ground up and reached mass production. In the first quarter, Tesla produced more than 305,000 EVs and delivered just north of 310,000 EVs. That puts it on track to easily surpass 1 million EVs produced and delivered in 2022.To add to this point, Tesla's first-quarter operating results featured its largest quarterly profit in history. Despite supply chain challenges, Tesla generated $3.32 billion in net income in Q1 2022, which was a 658% improvement from the prior-year period. But there are also plenty of reasons to believe Tesla's market cap, which is equal to most auto stocks on a combined basis, is due for a reversion. Although the company has been riding competitive advantages with regard to production, power, range, and battery capacity, competition is beginning to catch up. For instance, a handful of EVs offer better range than Tesla's flagship sedans (the Model 3 and Model S).Another point of concern is CEO Elon Musk. While there's no question he's a visionary, he's also an unwanted distraction at times. Musk has a habit of overpromising and under-delivering when it comes to the launch of new technology or new EVs, and his side projects arguably get in the way of overseeing Tesla's operations.Berkshire Hathaway CEO, Warren Buffett. Image source: The Motley Fool. These stocks could surpass Tesla over the next eight yearsIn other words, there's a very real chance Tesla's valuation could deflate by 2030 and other publicly traded stocks could surpass it. What follows are three stocks that could be worth more than Tesla by the turn of the decade. The logical choice: Berkshire HathawayThe no-brainer choice to surpass Tesla in market cap by (or well before) 2030 is Warren Buffett's conglomerate, Berkshire Hathaway. Berkshire would need to gain about $300 billion in market cap to catch Tesla, as of this past weekend.Historically, Buffett's company has been virtually unstoppable. Even though Berkshire Hathaway doesn't increase in value every year, Buffett has overseen an average annual return of better than 20% since taking the helm as CEO in 1965. Put another way, shareholders have doubled their money holding Berkshire Hathaway stock, on average, every 3.6 years for close to six decades. One of the key reasons Berkshire Hathaway is such a success -- aside from being led by Warren Buffett -- is due to its investment portfolio being packed with cyclical companies. Cyclical businesses perform well when the U.S. and global economy are expanding and struggle when recessions arise. The thing is, recessions typically last for a few months or a couple of quarters, whereas economic expansions are often measured in years. Buffett and his investing team are playing a simple numbers game where patience is the not-so-secret ingredient to wealth-building.Berkshire Hathaway is also raking in passive income. This year alone, Buffett's company is on pace to collect well north of $5 billion in dividend income. Over $4 billion in payouts will come from just a half-dozen holdings. This dividend income allows Berkshire to thrive in virtually any economic environment.Image source: Getty Images. If everything went just right: VisaA second well-known stock that has all the tools necessary to surpass Tesla's market cap, but would need things to continue to go its way, is payment processor Visa. To leapfrog Tesla, Visa must make up a nearly $590 billion valuation gap.Arguably the biggest challenge is going to be the emergence of blockchain technology, as well as the rise of digital payment platforms. Blockchain offers a way to circumvent banks and financial institutions to process payments quickly and cheaply. Visa is a payment processor on traditional merchant networks and will need payments to continue to flow through those channels if it's to have any chance of surpassing Tesla's market cap.Similar to Berkshire Hathaway, Visa benefits from the cyclical nature of financial stocks. Since economic expansions last disproportionately longer than contractions and recessions, Visa spends most of its time benefiting from an increase in consumer and enterprise spending. In the U.S., the largest market for consumption in the world, Visa holds a 54% share of credit card network purchase volume, as of 2020.Additionally, Visa acts purely as a payment processor and not a lender. Although lending would generate net interest income and fee revenue, it would also expose Visa to loan delinquencies during recessions. Since there's no loan exposure, there's no need for the company to set aside capital to cover possible losses during recessions. This is a big reason why Visa's profit margin is consistently above 50%.With the majority of global transactions still being conducted in cash, Visa's growth runway remains robust.Image source: Getty Images. The long shot: BroadcomLastly, the long shot of the group to surpass Tesla's market cap by 2030 is semiconductor solutions company Broadcom. With a market cap of $240 billion, Broadcom would need to more than quadruple just to catch Tesla at its current valuation. The reason I've classified Broadcom as a \"long shot\" is the cyclical nature of the semiconductor industry. Even though periods of expansion handily outlast contractions and recessions, Wall Street has typically kept a low ceiling on price-to-earnings multiples for large chipmakers. On the other hand, there are multiple avenues for Broadcom to generate high-single-digit to low-double-digit annual sales growth throughout the decade. Currently, it generates the bulk of its revenue from wireless chips and assorted solutions used in next-generation smartphones. Telecom companies upgrading wireless infrastructure to 5G should lead to a multiyear device replacement cycle that keeps demand and pricing power high for Broadcom's smartphone solutions. However, it's the company's ancillary opportunities that could hold the key to surpassing Tesla. For example, Broadcom supplies connectivity and access chips used in data centers. With businesses shifting their data and that of their clients into the cloud at an accelerated pace in the wake of the pandemic, data center demand shouldn't slow anytime soon. Broadcom supplies chips used in next-gen vehicles, too.A final factor working in Broadcom's favor is its historically high backlog of $14.9 billion. This is a company that's booking production well into 2023, according to CEO Hock Tan. If Broadcom can maintain a large backlog of orders, its operating cash flow and valuation can steadily increase.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"V":0.9,"AVGO":0.9,"BRK.B":0.9,"TSLA":1,"BRK.A":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":3149,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9060272974,"gmtCreate":1651159030325,"gmtModify":1676534861329,"author":{"id":"3586416730091306","authorId":"3586416730091306","name":"Gladys12345","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8c9e9a64e6e530eabc1c7af92859e0a7","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3586416730091306","authorIdStr":"3586416730091306"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"<a At one point in time, Southeast Asian ride-hailing and delivery company Grab Holdings (NASDAQ:GRAB) represented the largest ever special purpose acquisition company merger (SPAC)to date. Thatâs mind-blowing when we consider that many U.S. investors havenât even heard of GRAB stock. The company is well-known in certain regions of the world, though. In fact, Grab is Southeast Asiaâs largest ride-hailing and delivery company. It has operations in Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia, Indonesia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam and serves more than 187 million users.Yet, while Grab the company may be well-known in Southeast Asia, GRAB stock isnât particularly popular on Wall Street. As weâll see, itâs in imminent danger of becoming a penny stock, which can informally be defined as a stock that represents a small company and trades for less than $5 per share.Thatâs a potential problem, and a deep dive into the companyâs financials will paint a dark picture of a ride-hailing business with major issues. So, if youâre not yet convinced to stay on the sidelines, stick around and weâll discover together just how much damage has already been done.A Closer Look at GRAB StockGrab made its debuton the Nasdaq on Dec. 2, 2021, after the company reverse-merged with blank-check company Altimeter Growth Corp. The stock started off near $9, and it was all downhill from there. By the end of 2021, the share price has already declined to around $7.There was more pain ahead as GRAB stock tumbled to $5 and change on Jan. 21, 2022. To be honest, itâs too soon to establish any support levels for the stock.Besides, support levels are established when a stock bounces off of a particular price level. When a stock just keeps falling, thereâs no support to speak of.Going forward, keep an eye on that critical $5 level. GRAB stock could easily plummet to new lows if the buyers canât hold $5.Big Company, Big ProblemsWith a market capitalization of almost $21 billion, prospective investors might assume that Grab Holdings is a surefire winner.Itâs a large company, but InvestorPlacecontributor Alex Sirois pointed out some equally large problems that Grab Holdings will have to deal with.As Sirois explained, âWidespread lockdowns in the region due to recurring waves of COVID-19 have hurt demand for Grabâs ride-hailing services and weighed on revenue despite an increase in food-delivery volumes.âWeâll discuss the financial issues in a moment. Siroisâs concerns about Covid-19 in Southeast Asia are duly noted, though â and theyâre echoed by some big-bank analysts, apparently.Reportedly, analysts at Asian Development Bank expect that Southeast Asian economies will recover at âa much slower paceâ than previously thought.Lockdowns Weighing on RevenuesThis, as you might have surmised, is due to the recurrence of Covid-19 in the region. In 2022, the Asian Development Bank analysts expect Southeast Asia to grow by only 5%, slightly lower than their previous forecast.Clearly, Covid-19 lockdowns have been a problem for Grab Holdings and could continue to weigh on the companyâs revenue and earnings.Indeed, for 2021âs third quarter, Grab Holdings acknowledged that the companyâs revenue was down 9% year-over-year âas a result of a decline in mobility due to the severe lockdowns in Vietnam.âTurning to the bottom-line results, Grab Holdingsâ third-quarter 2021 earnings loss increased $366 million, to a staggering loss of $988 million.Hence, investors should steer clear as a nearly billion-dollar quarterly earnings loss is quite worrisome. The TakeawayAdmittedly, Grab Holdings is a famous company in Southeast Asia. Itâs a large business, as weâve learned, with a sizable market capitalization.Yet, this company has major problems. In particular, Covid-19 creates challenges for businesses in Southeast Asia right now. Then, there are the financial issues. Grab Holdings is moving in the wrong direction when it comes to revenue and earnings.Itâs understandable if you want to diversify your investments into different world regions. However, not all international stocks are equally worthy of your investment capital. So, itâs probably a good idea to avoid GRAB stock for the time being. You can always check back later to see if the companyâs financial situation improves.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"GRAB":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1597,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9007707082,"gmtCreate":1642996722577,"gmtModify":1676533763543,"author":{"id":"3586416730091306","authorId":"3586416730091306","name":"Gladys12345","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8c9e9a64e6e530eabc1c7af92859e0a7","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3586416730091306","authorIdStr":"3586416730091306"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Ok","listText":"Ok","text":"Ok","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9007707082","repostId":"1149983036","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1811,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9007566628,"gmtCreate":1642951690971,"gmtModify":1676533759479,"author":{"id":"3586416730091306","authorId":"3586416730091306","name":"Gladys12345","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8c9e9a64e6e530eabc1c7af92859e0a7","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3586416730091306","authorIdStr":"3586416730091306"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Ok","listText":"Ok","text":"Ok","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9007566628","repostId":"1138349004","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1138349004","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1642896014,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1138349004?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-01-23 08:00","market":"us","language":"en","title":"US IPO Weekly Recap: No IPOs as Postponements and Pricing Delays Abound","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1138349004","media":"Renaissance Capital","summary":"Challenging conditions in the IPO market continued this past week. This year that has not occurred. The more important consideration for me is the prospect of an early start to reducing the size of the Fed balance sheet. Any significant and early withdrawal of liquidity will have a negative impact on asset prices.ââWe are seeing a weak start for the week in both equities and fixed income,â Reynolds added. âMy expectation is that this will continue throughout the week and even may start to accelerate.âGrowth Versus ValueâThe outlooks for the Fed, interest rates, and economic growth suggest equity investors should balance their exposures to growth and value,â said Goldman Sachs Group Inc. strategists led by David Kostin, in a note Friday. âOur rates strategists expect yields will continue to rise, a dynamic that should support value over growth. However, their nominal 10-year yield targets of 2.0% by year-end 2022 and 2.3% by the end of 2023 outline a more gradual path than the volatility the market has faced during the past few weeks.âOur economists expect the waning of the Omicron wave to lift GDP growth from 2% in 1Q to 3% in the second quarter, supporting value stocks,â the strategists added. âBut they expect growth will slow to a 2% pace by 4Q 2022, the type of environment that generally supports growth stocks.âDollar Bear BetsâThe dissonance associated with the juxtaposition of higher Treasury yields and a softer U.S. dollar stemming from the underlying hawkish Fed divergence (vis-a-vis the European Central Bank and Bank of Japan) reveals the many tensions that dwell beneath,â said Vishnu Varathan, head of economics and strategy at Mizuho Bank Ltd., in a note Monday.âInsofar that a hawkish Fed is augmenting inflation expectations lower, real UST yields have been climbing; catching up with, and potentially overtaking the rise in nominal yields,â he continued. âAnd if sustained, this lift in real rates should inspire USD traction, if not rebound. If indeed the real (rates) U.S. dollar stands up, one-way bearish bets on the dollar will fumble.âBig TechâA weak tech season coupled with the higher rate environment we think augers in more selling in the Nasdaq 100,â said Michael Purves, chief executive officer of Tallbacken Capital Advisers LLC, in a note Sunday. âAnd it is hard to think that wonât spill over to broader index pressure. Yes, value should see rotational dynamics, but that the big tech weight in the SPX is a hefty boat anchor to carry around if it needs to get sold.âWith that said, it is interesting to see that while the SPX options market is somewhat middling, the VXN (a VIX for the NDX) has been steadily climbing,â he said. âSince early December, the VXN - VIX spread has been climbing in higher than the VIX in tandem with the NDXâs underperformance relative to the SPX. And both of these metrics have concurred with the rise in the 10-year Treasury yield and hawkish pivot.âReal ReservationsâBroadly speaking, rising real yields are negative for risk assets,â said Sue Trinh, head of global macro strategy Asia at Manulife Investment Management HK Ltd., in comments Monday. âWe find that higher real rates are likely more painful for risk assets than higher nominal rates.âShe added, âcrucially, the correlation between real yields and risk assets has become stronger and more negative in the past five years.âCrypto DivergenceThereâs been a big divergence in performance recently between the largest cryptocurrencies and some of those that are emerging, notes Jonathan Cheesman, head of over-the-counter and institutional sales at crypto-derivatives exchange FTX, who pointed to weak returns from the likes of Bitcoin and Ether in the past month, while tokens like NEAR and Fantom have surged.âThis decorrelation could relate back to the macro environment (i.e. Fed tightening) in two ways,â Cheesman said. â1) Traditional investors have been focusing on the large caps and as a large part of their thesis was monetary inflation, they are presumably exiting. 2) While tightening is coming, itâs not here yet. There is still a huge amount of liquidity in the system, so we are seeing large gyration under the surface without as much volatility on the index or aggregate level.â","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{".DJI":0.9,".SPX":0.9,".IXIC":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1468,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9005900875,"gmtCreate":1642129755601,"gmtModify":1676533684815,"author":{"id":"3586416730091306","authorId":"3586416730091306","name":"Gladys12345","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8c9e9a64e6e530eabc1c7af92859e0a7","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3586416730091306","authorIdStr":"3586416730091306"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Ok","listText":"Ok","text":"Ok","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9005900875","repostId":"2203760364","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2203760364","kind":"highlight","pubTimestamp":1642128162,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2203760364?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-01-14 10:42","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Retired? 5 Stocks Yielding 5% to Buy in 2022","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2203760364","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"Retirement is about protecting your nest egg, and living off it. Building passive income is the name of the game, and traditional tools like savings accounts don't pay the type of yield they used to.Fortunately, investors can use a diversified mix of high-yielding dividend stocks to help put some money in their pockets. Here are five stocks that yield more than 5%, making them income-producing ideas worth considering.EnbridgeOil and gas may be hot right now, but Canadian energy infrastructure company Enbridge (NYSE:ENB) has excelled for years. The company is a Dividend Aristocrat, having raised its dividend for 26 years while offering a generous 6.7% yield. Enbridge's primary business is the transportation and distribution of oil and natural gas across North America. In other words, it moves these extracted resources to refineries, storage, and exports.Oil prices can significantly impact the profits of many oil and gas companies, but Enbridge is a pipeline, or \"midstream,\" company because it transports oil and gas. The company is paid based on the volume that flows through its pipes, much like cars through a toll booth.A volume-based business model makes Enbridge more stable than many oil and gas companies; people need these resources, whether prices are up or down. Management is guiding for $4.70 to $5 per share in cash flow for the full 2021 year, and the resulting dividend payout ratio is manageable at 67%.Kinder MorganStaying in the energy infrastructure space a little longer, Kinder Morgan's (NYSE:KMI) 83,000 miles of pipelines carry natural gas, gasoline, crude oil, and carbon dioxide all over the U.S. The dividend currently yields a robust 6.3%, making it an excellent passive income asset for retirees.Investors might notice that Kinder Morgan's dividend history isn't as clean as Enbridge's. The company had a heavy debt load in 2016 that forced management to cut the dividend to invest money into the business.Fortunately, Kinder Morgan's balance sheet is a lot healthier today than back then. Its cash flow covers the dividend; a payout of 80% leaves about $900 million left over, which management uses to buy back shares.Altria GroupTobacco stocks are a staple for many dividend investors, and Altria Group (NYSE:MO) is arguably the king of the mountain. It owns and sells the Marlboro brand of cigarettes throughout the U.S. The company is a Dividend King, having raised its dividend for 51 consecutive years, and it offers a generous dividend yield of 7.2%.Investors could be skeptical of Altria's ability to continue funding its dividend. The smoking rate in the U.S. has significantly declined for decades, and the company's cigarette volumes decrease each year. However, tobacco is an addictive product, and Altria capitalizes by slowly raising cigarette prices each year, just enough to offset the declines in volume. The company also has a growing stable of non-cigarette business segments, including leading brands in chewing tobacco, a nicotine pouch product line, as well as minority investments in Cronos Group and Anheuser-Busch InBev. It should be noted though that the majority of Altria's income currently comes from cigarette sales.Altria will not knock your socks off with growth, but it squeaks out just enough to raise the payout each year. Its dividend payout ratio is a comfortable 78% of cash flow, which Altria can afford because its business doesn't require a lot of money to maintain itself.Iron MountainThe world continues to go digital, and businesses no longer refer to filing cabinets of data, they search their computer databases for it. However, the actual paper copies still exist in many cases, which is where Iron Mountain (NYSE:IRM) comes in. Iron Mountain is a real estate investment trust (REIT) that owns and manages facilities where customers store data, including physical records, data centers, and more.Iron Mountain is the de facto leader in physical file storage, serving 95% of Fortune 1000 companies, and has a 98% customer retention rate. Management has raised the dividend for the past nine years, which currently yields 5.3% on the current share price.Iron Mountain's legacy business could slowly crumble over time with digital and cloud storage quickly growing. However, management has proactively invested in Iron Mountain's transition to data centers, so investors should know that the company is working toward a digital future. The dividend payout ratio is roughly 50% of cash flow (called \"funds from operations\" for REITs), so retirees can count on payments to keep coming.Omega Healthcare InvestorsThere are currently 46 million elderly adults (aged 65 or older) living in the U.S., a number that could almost double to 90 million by 2050. Omega Healthcare Investors (NYSE:OHI) is a REIT that focuses on skilled nursing facilities, like retirement homes and assisted living. The company has a strong dividend track record, having raised its payout for 18 years. The dividend currently yields 8.6%. Even though skilled nursing is expensive, most occupants receive government funding through Medicare or Medicaid.Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic has lowered occupancy for many of Omega's tenants. Almost 9% of Omega's tenants are struggling to meet rent as a result. This could negatively impact the company in the short term, though an aging U.S. population should be a long-term growth opportunity. The dividend payout ratio is 82% right now, so investors will want to monitor this if COVID-19 continues to create challenges for Omega Healthcare.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"KMI":1,"MS":0.78,"REIT":1,"MO":1,"OHI":1,"IRM":1,"ENB":1}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1589,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"hots":[{"id":832246361,"gmtCreate":1629644803653,"gmtModify":1676530085169,"author":{"id":"3586416730091306","authorId":"3586416730091306","name":"Gladys12345","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8c9e9a64e6e530eabc1c7af92859e0a7","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3586416730091306","authorIdStr":"3586416730091306"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Please like","listText":"Please like","text":"Please like","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":13,"commentSize":3,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/832246361","repostId":"1133515985","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":680,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":883923846,"gmtCreate":1631197287485,"gmtModify":1676530494314,"author":{"id":"3586416730091306","authorId":"3586416730091306","name":"Gladys12345","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8c9e9a64e6e530eabc1c7af92859e0a7","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3586416730091306","authorIdStr":"3586416730091306"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Please like","listText":"Please like","text":"Please like","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":8,"commentSize":4,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/883923846","repostId":"1176976417","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1176976417","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1631197026,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1176976417?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-09-09 22:17","market":"us","language":"en","title":"White House Will Announce Drug-Pricing Plan, WSJ Says. The stock had been quite beaten down in 2020, so a rebound looked like all but a certainty.Wells Fargo has gotten off to a nice start in 2022, and now the next potential catalyst could be earnings results for the fourth quarter of 2021 as well as full-year results, which are set to be released on Jan. 14. Analysts on average expect the bank to generate $1.09 in earnings per share (EPS) on total revenue of about $18.7 billion. For the full year, analysts on average expect $4.67 EPS on total revenue of $76.2 billion.Net interest incomeWells Fargo, one of the largest commercial lenders in the country, has been ravaged for nearly two years by low interest rates and weak loan demand. The bank does not have the same kind of investment banking and capital market operations as JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, and Bank of America, so it has felt the sting more than its competitors. In 2018, net interest income (NII), the profit the bank makes on loans and securities after covering the cost of funding those assets, nearly touched $50 billion. In 2020, it was under $40 billion, and in 2021 it is on pace to do about $35.4 billion. Part of the reason for this has to do with the fact that the bank has sold some divisions and simplified, but rates have also played a role in addition to the asset cap the bank is under, which essentially prevents it from growing the balance sheet. But it appears that loan growth may have bottomed and now is set to rise even if at a modest pace. At a recent conference, CEO Charlie Scharf said loan demand is picking up and the bank is seeing a continuation of the modest growth they saw in Q3. In particular, Scharf said the bank is seeing growth in certain residential mortgage portfolios as well as a continuation of auto loan growth. Scharf also said the bank is seeing a pick up of loan demand in the middle market space as well.I will be very interested to see how loan balances trend in Wells Fargo's credit card book in Q4. The bank has rolled out new and enhanced card products over the past year, and credit card applications hit a pandemic high toward the end of 2021. The Fed just released new data that shows revolving debt, which is mostly credit card debt, bounced more than 23% in November on a seasonally adjusted annual rate. With longer-term interest rates higher in Q4 than in Q3 and increased loan demand, I am hopeful for a decent improvement in net interest income.ExpensesInvestors and analysts will be closely watching expenses at Wells Fargo because one of the bank's big initiatives right now is trimming expenses and reducing its efficiency ratio, which measures expenses expressed as a percentage of total revenue, so lower is better. The bank recently set a goal of cutting $8 billion in gross expenses over the next three or four years. For 2021, the bank expects to see $3.7 billion of those cost savings achieved and overall see annual expenses come in around $53.5 billion. For the bank to hit its goal, Q4 expenses would have to come in at around $12.9 billion, which would be a pandemic low for the bank. However, CFO Mike Santomassimo said on the bank's Q3 earnings call that the $53.5 billion number would exclude expenses for restructuring and business exits. He added the bank had $193 million of these costs through the first three quarters of the year.Santomassimo also noted that the bank's outlook includes the fact that operating losses are expected to come in $250 million higher than projections made earlier in the year. It also includes extra expenses related to the sales of the bank's asset management and corporate trust services divisions, which are expected to close in Q4. So there could be some one-time expenses baked into Q4, but hitting the $53.5 billion number, or being close on a core basis, will be important because lowering expenses and getting the efficiency ratio down is a big part of the investment thesis for Wells Fargo.Reserve releasesMy big question is how big of a reserve capital release there will be from Wells Fargo in the quarter. Banks spent much of 2020 building huge stores of reserve capital to prepare for potential loan losses as a result of the pandemic. When those losses didn't materialize, most banks spent much of 2021 releasing reserves back into earnings. While Wells Fargo has released reserves, it has done so at a much slower pace than its big-bank peers despite having the best credit profile among them.At the end of Q3, net charge-offs, which are debts unlikely to be collected and a good indicator of actual loan losses, as a percentage of total loans, came in at just 0.12%, the lowest charge-off rate seen in decades. Yet Wells Fargo's total allowance for loan losses after Q3 remained fairly elevated at 1.57%.The bank has been more cautious about releasing reserves, but I still think the allowance is too high right now. Scharf noted that he thinks \"the bottom has been reached\" in terms of delinquency levels and charge-offs, and expects things to begin to normalize this year. I'm still confident there will be some kind of a reserve release, but given that there could be some loan growth, and that delinquencies and charge-offs are expected to creep up, I'm very curious as to what the release will look like. Will Wells Fargo beat?Since the fourth quarter of 2016, Wells Fargo has missed on EPS six times and on revenue 11 times, so this money-center bank is not as much of a guarantee to beat as some of the other big banks. But overall, with loan growth continuing to tick up, and given that I am expecting some kind of reserve release, I am optimistic the bank will beat expectations.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"WFC":1}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":395,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":887368519,"gmtCreate":1631978145531,"gmtModify":1676530681297,"author":{"id":"3586416730091306","authorId":"3586416730091306","name":"Gladys12345","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8c9e9a64e6e530eabc1c7af92859e0a7","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3586416730091306","authorIdStr":"3586416730091306"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Please like","listText":"Please like","text":"Please like","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":3,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/887368519","repostId":"1171558890","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1171558890","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1631921912,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1171558890?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-09-18 07:38","market":"us","language":"en","title":"US IPO Week Ahead: Software, consumer products, and payment tech lead a diverse 14 IPO week","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1171558890","media":"renaissancecap...","summary":"Summer may be over, but the IPO market is just heating up as 14 IPOs are slated to raise $5.3 billio","content":"<p>Summer may be over, but the IPO market is just heating up as 14 IPOs are slated to raise $5.3 billion in the week ahead.
