Analysts had projected 109 million.

Disney's disappointing subscriber additions resemble Netflix's last quarter.

But Disney charges far less for Disney+ than Netflix charges its average customer, making slowing growth more worrying if it continues.

Disneyseems to have picked up a bit ofNetflix-itis.

Just as Netflix added fewer than 4 million global subscribers in the first quarter, disappointing investors, Disney announced it now has 103.6 million Disney+ subscribers, far less than the109 million estimated by analysts.Disney shares slumped about 4% in after-hours trading.

Superficially, both Disney and Netflix can explain away the disappointing growth by citing the surge in viewers earlier in the pandemic. The logic is simple: Far more people signed up for Disney+ and Netflix in the first six months of the pandemic than the companies had counted on. Given the surge, it's only natural that growth would pull back to more \"normal\" levels as the pandemic winds down.

Further, both Disney and Netflix can safely assume that subscriber growth will accelerate in the second half of the year as show production begins again in earnest and high-profile content â such as \"Loki\" and \"Luca\" for Disney â comes to streaming video later this year.

But there's one significant difference between the two companies where Disney falls far short: average revenue per user.

Disney+'s average revenue per user, excluding India's Hotstar, was $5.61 per month. Netflix's ARPU last quarter in the U.S. and Canada was $14.25 per month â up 9% from a year ago.

If you're going to have slumping growth, you want your customers paying as much as possible. Disney's Hulu subscription video on-demand service has higher ARPU â $12.08 per month â but its growth was negligible, up just 2 cents per month from a year ago. Hulu has 37.8 million subscribers, which rises to 41.6 million when including those who also purchase live TV.

None of this is particularly concerning yet for Disney Chief Executive Officer Bob Chapek, who noted \"every single market has exceeded expectations\" in terms of global subscriber additions. He also pointed out that Disney is still expanding to new countries, with Malaysia and Thailand coming in June.

But Disney+ has vaulted into the streaming big leagues. In 2020, the logical comparison for Disney+ wasHBO Max,Peacockand other new media streaming services.

Given Disney's success, this year's comparison will be Netflix. They've retired the phrase 'thinking about thinking about tapering', and we expect that in the next few meetings, the committee will likely formally start discussions of tapering,\" BNP's Ahn said.\nThe Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 265.66 points, or 0.77%, to 34,033.67, the S&P 500 lost 22.89 points, or 0.54%, to 4,223.7 and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 33.17 points, or 0.24%, to 14,039.68.\nOnly two of the S&P's 11 main sector indexes ended in positive territory: consumer discretionary and retail.\nThe decliners were led by utilities, materials, and consumer staples.\nVolume on U.S. exchanges was 10.90 billion shares, compared with the 10.38 billion average over the last 20 trading days.\nThe S&P 500 posted 25 new 52-week highs and 1 new lows; the Nasdaq Composite recorded 95 new highs and 30 new lows.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"161125":0.9,"513500":0.9,"MNQmain":0.9,".DJI":0.9,"DDM":0.9,"PSQ":0.9,"UPRO":0.9,"SH":0.9,"SDS":0.9,"SSO":0.9,"DJX":0.9,"SDOW":0.9,"ESmain":0.9,"QQQ":0.9,"SQQQ":0.9,"OEF":0.9,"SPXU":0.9,"IVV":0.9,".IXIC":0.9,"NQmain":0.9,"QID":0.9,"DXD":0.9,".SPX":0.9,"DOG":0.9,"OEX":0.9,"QLD":0.9,"TQQQ":0.9,"UDOW":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":607,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[{"author":{"id":"3576840215575990","authorId":"3576840215575990","name":"michiec","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/a4ab42a03acfbe58db7e84b49daf9682","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"authorIdStr":"3576840215575990","idStr":"3576840215575990"},"content":"please reply me","text":"please reply me","html":"please reply me"}],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":189551155,"gmtCreate":1623282816077,"gmtModify":1704199900284,"author":{"id":"3575326618226124","authorId":"3575326618226124","name":"KaiWeng","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/1193615261252949cf3fda252d844dc1","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3575326618226124","idStr":"3575326618226124"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like comment please ","listText":"Like comment please ","text":"Like comment please","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":8,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/189551155","repostId":"1193607718","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":812,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":115531330,"gmtCreate":1623021981620,"gmtModify":1704194319671,"author":{"id":"3575326618226124","authorId":"3575326618226124","name":"KaiWeng","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/1193615261252949cf3fda252d844dc1","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3575326618226124","idStr":"3575326618226124"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like comment please ","listText":"Like comment please ","text":"Like comment please","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":8,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/115531330","repostId":"1156802172","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1156802172","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Stock Market Quotes, Business News, Financial News, Trading Ideas, and Stock Research by Professionals","home_visible":0,"media_name":"Benzinga","id":"1052270027","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/d08bf7808052c0ca9deb4e944cae32aa"},"pubTimestamp":1622950106,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1156802172?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-06 11:28","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Nio Begins Prepping For Nio Day 2021: What We Know So Far","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1156802172","media":"Benzinga","summary":"The catalyst that drove NIO Inc. shares to an all-time high of $66.99 earlier this year was Nio Day ","content":"
The catalyst that drove NIO Inc. shares to an all-time high of $66.99 earlier this year was Nio Day 2020 on Jan. 9. The company posted earnings of 28 cents per share and net income of $7.4 million.\nCleanSpark shares ended Friday's session 5.87% higher at $19.30.\nCleanSpark Daily Chart Analysis\n\nThe stock has been falling throughout the last few months into what technical traders call a falling wedge pattern.\nThe stock is trading below the 50-day moving average (green) and above the 200-day moving average (blue), indicating the stock is likely trading in a period of consolidation.\nThe 50-day moving average may hold as a place of resistance and the 200-day moving average may be somewhere the stock finds support in the future.\n\nKey CleanSpark Levels To Watch\n\nThe stock has been trading within the falling wedge pattern while also nearing a key level where it previously was unable to break.\nThe falling wedge pattern is considered to be a bullish reversal pattern, and the stock could see an upwards move if it can cross above the resistance line that forms from connecting the highs.\nThe chart history shows that the $15 level was a place that the stock struggled to cross for a period of time. Now that the stock is above this level, it may hold as support.\n\nWhatâs Next For CleanSpark?\nBullish technical traders would like to see the stock bounce near the $15 level and start heading higher. A cross of the resistance line in the pattern hints to traders that the stock may be ready to break out and move higher.\nBearish technical traders would like to see the stock fall down to the $15 level and break below. Consolidation below this level could be a tell that the stock is ready to move lower. If the price is unable to hold the 200-day moving average, sentiment may start turning bearish in the stock.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"CLSK":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":507,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[{"author":{"id":"3581902346347953","authorId":"3581902346347953","name":"Jolenelxm","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/9ce9e2e202b0919862270b225371b99a","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"authorIdStr":"3581902346347953","idStr":"3581902346347953"},"content":"To the moooooon","text":"To the moooooon","html":"To the moooooon"}],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":101265986,"gmtCreate":1619917561345,"gmtModify":1704336272714,"author":{"id":"3575326618226124","authorId":"3575326618226124","name":"KaiWeng","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/1193615261252949cf3fda252d844dc1","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3575326618226124","idStr":"3575326618226124"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Help tp like please ","listText":"Help tp like please ","text":"Help tp like please","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":5,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/101265986","repostId":"1105099718","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1105099718","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1619897946,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1105099718?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-05-02 03:39","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Warren Buffett Faces Impatient Investors as Berkshire Hathaway Returns Decline","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1105099718","media":"WSJ","summary":"Institutional shareholders are pressing for change on climate and governance at the Omaha, Neb., conglomerate. And many donât care whether Berkshire lacks a corporate sustainability report or an investor-relations team at the ready to answer their questions.âBerkshireâs unusual and valued family of individual shareholders may add to your understanding of our reluctance to court Wall Street analysts and institutional investors,â Mr. Buffett wrote in his most recent letter to shareholders. âWe already have the investors we want and donât think that they, on balance, would be upgraded by replacements.âThe gradual uptick in institutional ownership, though, might already be empowering professional managers to press Berkshire on governance matters. When Mr. Buffett and his estate sell off his remaining shares, it is likely those money managers will hold an even bigger stake in the company, Mr. Cunningham said.âThere will be a dawning of significant leadership and structural change, and these holders are preparing for that battle,â Mr. Cunningham said.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"BRK.B":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":443,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[{"author":{"id":"3581902346347953","authorId":"3581902346347953","name":"Jolenelxm","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/9ce9e2e202b0919862270b225371b99a","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"authorIdStr":"3581902346347953","idStr":"3581902346347953"},"content":"Hi respond To me :)","text":"Hi respond To me :)","html":"Hi respond To me :)"}],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":807219487,"gmtCreate":1628038514149,"gmtModify":1703499988795,"author":{"id":"3575326618226124","authorId":"3575326618226124","name":"KaiWeng","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/1193615261252949cf3fda252d844dc1","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3575326618226124","idStr":"3575326618226124"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Bionano Genomics(BNGO)$Anyoneâs with me?
