$Alphabet(GOOG)$ 2027 to 2028 looks like the turning point. With the fleet scaling up fivefold to 20,000 vehicles, revenue is projected to surge past $10 billion. The cheaper 6th-gen Zeekr platform is expected to get Waymo to positive unit economics, meaning gross profitability per ride in its top mature markets like San Francisco and Phoenix.

Then 2029 to 2030 is where hyper-growth and actual net profit come in. Analysts forecast Waymo's revenue could scale to $25 billion to $40 billion by 2030. At that stage, high-margin software licensing and international expansions are expected to drive true corporate net profitability.
