  • Northern Minerals received fresh regulatory relief from ASIC, pushing back its deadlines to hold both its 2025 and 2026 annual general meetings.

  • Following the corporate update and extension news, company shares experienced an upward movement of 4.1% to reach 25 cents.

  • The company stated that the extended timeline helps ensure compliance with federal foreign interest divestment orders prior to holding meetings.

Northern Minerals (ASX:NTU) secured an extension from the Australian Securities and Investments Commission to hold its delayed 2025 and 2026 annual general meetings by March 2027.

The new regulatory relief replaces a previous plan that required the mining company to host both shareholder meetings concurrently on Nov. 25.

The company stated that the extension instruments are needed to ensure that required asset disposals under federal divestment orders are fully completed before meeting with shareholders.

Under the updated terms, both annual general meetings must now take place by March 31, 2027 or within 42 business days of formal notice from Treasury.

The company stated that it has not yet received formal notification from Treasury regarding the completion of those specific May disposal orders.

Following the announcement, the Northern Minerals share price was up at $0.24.

The rare earths developer continues to manage corporate governance requirements alongside federal directives concerning its Browns Range project operations in Western Australia.
