Percheron Therapeutics (ASX:PER) has entered into a preclinical research collaboration with Invion (ASX:IVX) to evaluate its clinical-stage antibody HMBD-002 alongside Invion's photodynamic therapy Photosoft.
The agreement aims to build on a 2024 study at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, which demonstrated superior tumour control when combining Invion's candidate with an immune checkpoint inhibitor compared to monotherapy alone.
Percheron Therapeutics stated that the costs of the study are expected to be modest and will not affect the company's cash runway.
Percheron Managing Director and CEO, Dr Michael Baker, commented, "Invion's Photosoft is designed to directly attack tumour tissue, while HMBD-002 modulates the immunosuppressive tumour microenvironment by blocking VISTA."
Both HMBD-002 and Invion's Photosoft candidate INV043 have already completed phase 1 clinical trials as individual monotherapies.
Following the announcement, the Percheron Therapeutics share price was unchanged at $0.003.
Percheron Therapeutics is an international biotechnology company focused on developing novel oncology therapies for solid tumours.
The company's primary lead candidate, HMBD-002, is designed to target VISTA to modulate immunosuppressive tumour microenvironments.
