The group established its first US distribution partnership and pushed back its EBITDAF profitability target to Q1 FY28.
Blackpearl Group (ASX:BPG) narrowed its quarterly EBITDAF loss to NZ$3 million while growing first-half revenue by 42% year-on-year to NZ$7.3 million.
The reduced operating loss represents a 34% performance improvement over the first quarter, backed by consolidated sales, marketing, and development functions across its ventures.
The company stated that the operating model changes are expected to lower its quarterly cost base by roughly 27% on a run-rate basis, delivering around NZ$9.4 million in annualised savings.
CEO Nick Lissette said, “We have updated that guidance to reach profitability during Q1 FY28, and we got there while increasing R&D and extending our technology lead through a significant shift in foundational models.”
Alongside operational cuts, the group established a heads of agreement with a major US data provider using a referral model where Blackpearl receives up to 80% of generated revenue.
Following the announcement, the group updated its guidance to target EBITDAF profitability in Q1 FY28, replacing its previous forecast for Q3 FY27.
Following the announcement, the Blackpearl Group share price was up at $0.18.
The technology firm has shifted its revenue model towards higher-quality Data-as-a-Service contracts across its product portfolio.
These ongoing platform optimisations build on recent structural realignments from the integration of B2B Rocket and Bebop marketing funnels.
