$Netlist, Inc.(NLST)$ $Micron Technology(MU)$ Heads up for Micron investors.

Netlist holds a broad range of patents covering high-performance memory. For years, and in some cases close to two decades, companies like Google, Samsung, Micron, SK Hynix and others have infringed Netlist's patents, using its technology without any compensation.

At the same time, there were also a series of attempts to invalidate Netlist's patents. Sometimes those efforts even crossed legal lines under favorable political conditions, with the apparent hope that Netlist, as a smaller company, would go bankrupt.

That period now looks to be over. Netlist has not only successfully defended most of its patent portfolio, it is actively seeking bans on memory products that infringe its IP.

The responsible ITC has now instituted such a procedure against Micron. Samsung was in a similar position and eventually settled.

The same outcome looks likely with Micron.
