No matter where we are in the world, teaching is always one of the most respected professions.
In Singapore, Teacherās Day falls on September 5, while in China, we celebrate it on September 10. š©āš«šØāš«
A teacher isnāt just someone in the classroom ā they can also be a friend, a parent, a stranger on the internet, or even an AI that suddenly appeared ā like GPT or DeepSeek. As long as they bring us growth and inspiration, they can be considered our āteacher.ā
When it comes to investing, do you have a āstock teacherā youāve always followed in the Tiger Community?
It could be an expert who helps you read earnings reports, a veteran who teaches you to stay calm during market swings, or even legends like Buffett or Soros ā whose wisdom has become our teacher, even if weāve never met them. š
š Today, Iād love to ask everyone:
On this special day, which teacher comes to mind first?
Who is your favorite āstock teacherā? Would you recommend them to others?
Do you have a message of thanks youād like to share with your teacher?
š¬ Drop your thoughts in the comments! Letās talk about the teachers whoāve inspired us most.

I donāt have a specific favour āstock teacherā as different āmastersā have different strengths and have teach various topics with varying effectiveness. If I am interested in a specific topic, I will read or listen to YouTube videos on different ones to gain understanding from different perspectives.
To the various teachers in my life, I want to thank them for inspiring me to continue on lifelong learning, the ability to look at a problem from different perspectives and to solve problems with different approaches.

That is why Charlie Munger is the teacher that has made the biggest impact on my style of investing. I have learnt patience and that time in the market is more important than timing the market.
Thank you Charlie Munger, you have made a difference in my life.

I also see my own trading journey as a teacher. The best lessons come from actual experience ā making trades, learning from mistakes, and reflecting on both wins and losses. Each outcome has shaped how I manage risk and spot opportunities. Over time, these lessons have built the foundation of my confidence in the market.
Lastly, Iām grateful for my group of trading colleagues. We exchange ideas, challenge views, and share insights regularly. Their support keeps me grounded during volatile times. Along with the Tiger Community and my own journey, theyāve all become teachers who continue to guide and inspire me.

Maybe by having good Maths foundation, I tended to be very analytical/systematic when I m doing my work. In a way, it helps in my stocks purchase. [LOL][Happy][Smile][Chuckle]
