Recently, Chinese stocks have experienced a strong rebound, and many investors have finally reached that long-awaited moment—breaking even! However, when the stock price returns to the cost line, the question arises: should you sell now or wait a little longer?
1. One Tiger Colleague Regrets Selling $XIAOMI-W(01810)$ Too Early
One tiger sold Xiaomi when it broke even, thinking, "Finally, I'm free," but soon after, Xiaomi's stock price kept rising and is now approaching 50 HKD. She watched her potential gains double and couldn't help but start questioning: "Should I have waited a little longer?"
2. Another Painful Lesson from $Direxion Daily FTSE China Bull 3X Shares(YINN)$
During the Chinese stock rebound last October, one tiger didn't take profits in time, thinking that the stock would rise even further. However, after the National Day holiday, there was a market pullback, and YINN’s paper profits turned into losses, leading to a loss of thousands of dollars.
3. Are You in the "Sell When You Break Even" Camp or the "Wait a Little Longer" Camp?
"Not selling means no loss": Many people see their losses shrinking and psychologically are reluctant to admit defeat, so they hold on and refuse to sell. But the market won't be kind; it will drop if it’s going to drop.
"Wait a little longer, it might rise more": A rising market creates the illusion that the price will keep going higher. However, the market doesn’t rise linearly, and it often strikes when you’re most confident.
4. How to Make a More Rational Decision?
Set a target for your gains: If your goal is a 20% return, execute it once achieved, and don’t look back. Greed is often the beginning of loss.
What’s Your Choice?
Have you ever sold a stock too early?
Or missed the chance to sell due to greed?

Just like yesterday when I sold my UT. For the past few days, it is going in an upward trend n I felt the time is right to sell it. Today I checked the price, it went down a bit. At least, I have buffer the differences and I m still in profit zone. [Chuckle]
