$Nvidia(NVDA)$ stock sank 3% on Friday and continued to decline 6.5% in overnight trading.

Chinese AI lab DeepSeek released a powerful AI model that it claims cost just $6 million to build, using less-powerful chips. If true — or partially true — that could undermine demand for super-pricey AI chips and other gear.

China's DeepSeek startup roiled artificial intelligence-driven stocks on Monday as Wall Street mulled huge investments by technology industry giants in AI infrastructure as well as demand for Nvidia chips. DeepSeek's apparent advances have raised questions over the computing power needed to develop AI systems, a key driver for AI stocks.

A total number of 5.16 million options related to $Nvidia(NVDA)$ was traded, of which 62% were call options. Bearish options related to Nvidia saw big gains on Friday. For example, the $143 strike put option expiring this Friday soared 113.6%.
