Tech stocks were mixed late Thursday afternoon, with the State Street Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLK) down 0.1% and the State Street SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) adding 2.8%.
The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index rose 1%.
In corporate news, Apple (AAPL) sued Microsoft-backed (MSFT) OpenAI over trade secret theft, but the AI company asked a federal judge to dismiss the case as meritless, Bloomberg reported, citing a court filing. Apple shares were up 0.5%, and Microsoft added 2.3%.
