Asian Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Lower in Thursday Trading

Asian equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were lower Thursday morning, declining 0.44% to 2,793.79 on the S&P Asia 50 ADR Index.

From North Asia, the gainers were led by education firm 51Talk Online Education Group (COE) and Korea Electric Power (KEP), which rose 11% and 3.5% respectively. They were followed by semiconductor firm Silicon Motion Technology (SIMO) and lender Nomura (NMR), which increased 3.4% and 3.3% respectively.

The decliners from North Asia were led by fintech firm High Templar Tech (HTT) and internet and data center services provider VNET Group (VNET), which dropped 16% and 6.2% respectively. They were followed by semiconductor company Himax Technologies (HIMX) and tech company Alibaba Group (BABA), which lost 5.2% and 4.7% respectively.

From South Asia, the gainers were led by IT firm Sify Technologies (SIFY), which rose 2.2%. It was followed by pharmaceutical firm Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (RDY) and lender ICICI Bank (IBN), which were up 1.5% and 0.7% respectively.

The decliners from South Asia were led by tech conglomerate Sea (SE) and Canaan (CAN), which fell 4.7% and 2.1% respectively. They were followed by IT firms Infosys (INFY) and Wipro (WIT), which were down 1.9% and 1.8% respectively.
