媒体报道称，美国财政部已将沃什的任命确认列为首要任务。负责沃什提名工作的美国国会事务副次长Derek Theurer已全力投入到这项提名工作中。
自特朗普重返白宫以来，他一直对现任美联储主席鲍威尔表示不满。今年1月，他提名沃什接替鲍威尔。
不过同日，美国法官驳回特朗普政府恢复针对鲍威尔的传票申请。有“新美联储通讯社”之称的知名财经记者Nick Timiraos称，这一裁决为Pirro向更高法院提起上诉扫清了道路。但该上诉可能会拖延对沃什的美联储主席任命确认。
鲍威尔的美联储主席任期将于下月到期。不过鲍威尔今年3月时表示，如果沃什在鲍威尔5月美联储主席任期届满时仍未获得确认，他将继续担任美联储主席，这是法律规定的安排。
