Iran's launch of two ballistic missiles at Diego Garcia, a joint U.S.-U.K. military base in the Indian Ocean-Tehran's farthest missile launch on record, at roughly 2,500 miles-shows it could also potentially put Paris and London in its sights, experts say.
The missiles were probably versions of existing intermediate-range ballistic missiles, lightened to achieve greater distance, the experts said. But Diego Garcia, a launchpad for U.S. strikes on Iran, is about the same distance from Iran as much of Europe.
