UK's Data Protection Regulator Launches Probe Into xAI's Grok

The UK's Information Commissioner's Office has launched a probe into Tesla (TSLA) CEO Elon Musk's xAI and X Internet Unlimited related to the Grok AI chatbot and its potential to produce harmful sexual images and video, the regulator said Tuesday.

The reported creation and distribution of non-consensual sexual imagery raises "serious concerns" under UK data protection law related to the processing of personal data and whether appropriate safeguards were built into Grok to prevent the generation of harmful images, the regulator said.

xAI did not immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
