Markets on Watch for Iranian Retaliation -- Market Talk

Dow Jones06-23

2043 GMT - Potential Iranian retaliation for the U.S. bombing of three of its nuclear facilities will shape the direction of markets early Monday, says Su-Lin Ong, chief economist at RBC Capital Markets. That retaliation could involve targeting of U.S. bases and its military assets in the Middle East, Ong says. There is scope for tensions to escalate further but Iran's militiary capabilities are waning. Government bond yields are likely to be higher due to increased risk. The risk of retaliation will temper any risk-on moves, Ong adds. (james.glynn@wsj.com; @JamesGlynnWSJ)
