April 3 (Reuters) - India's benchmark indexes opened lower on Thursday after U.S. President Donald Trump slapped a 26% reciprocal tariff on imports from the South Asian nation, a level that caught analysts by surprise.
The Nifty 50 .NSEI was down 0.78% at 23,150.3 in pre-open trade as of 09:08 a.m. IST, while the BSE Sensex .BSESN fell 1.05% to 75,811.12.
