The latest post on Roaring Kitty's X account features a heart-wrenching clip from the sci-fi cartoon comedy
Influential trader Keith Gill, also known as Roaring Kitty, made his second social media post of the year late Wednesday, sparking speculation about the possible meaning behind his cryptic post.
The post on X, formerly Twitter, features a clip from an episode of the sci-fi cartoon series "Futurama." The clip is from the "Jurassic Bark" episode and shows a faithful dog waiting patiently, and fruitlessly, for his owner over a long period of time, before dying.
The heart-wrenching episode has been described as "one of the most devastating half-hours of TV ever made" by Syfy.com. Slate, in an interview "Futurama" writer Eric Kaplan in 2022, describes it as "the most soul-crushing scene in cartoon history."

"He's backkkk," wrote Stocktwits, a social platform for investors and traders, on X late Wednesday.
Roaring Kitty's post, which has been viewed 4 million times, has sparked plenty of speculation on social media, such as a possible indication of Gill's commitment to GameStop Corp. $(GME)$ despite store closures by the video game retailer.
GameStop is in the throes of a "store portfolio optimization review" as the company looks to boost profitability. In the form 10-Q that accompanied the company's recent third-quarter results, GameStop said that its review "may result in the closure of a larger number of stores than we have closed in the past few years."

However, it is not clear what, if anything, Gill is trying to say with the post.
Gill was a pivotal figure in the 2021 meme-stock frenzy, that sent shares of GameStop and AMC Entertainment Holdings Inc. $(AMC)$ skyrocketing. His return to social media in May 2024 gave the original meme stocks another boost.
In Gill's first YouTube livestream in three years in June 2024 the trader described himself as a "believer" in GameStop. He subsequently grew his stake in GameStop.

GameStop shares were up 1.1% at 9:44 a.m. Eastern time.
This is not the first time that Gill has used dog imagery in his social media posts. Dog images posted by the trader last year sparked speculation that he was referring to online retailer of pet products Chewy Inc. $(CHWY)$. Gill amassed and then dumped a stake in the company last year.
Shares of Chewy were up 0.8% at 9:44 a.m. Eastern time.

Wednesday's post was Gill's first since he posted a short clip of the late musician Rick James on X on Jan. 1. It was not clear what, if anything, Gill's post meant although it grabbed plenty of attention and observers noted that one of Rick James' songs is called "Unity." Shares of Unity Software Inc. (U) rallied following the cryptic post, despite no fundamental news from the company.
Gill's latest post has also sparked some speculation on X that it could contain a reference to Unity Software.
Unity Software shares were up 0.4% at 9:44 a.m. Eastern time.
