AeroVironment Receives $55.3 Million Order From US Army for Switchblade Drones

AeroVironment (AVAV) said Monday that it received a second delivery order from the US Army Contracting Command-Aberdeen Proving Ground for Switchblade loitering munition systems worth $55.3 million.

The order is part of the Army's directed requirement for lethal unmanned systems and is covered under an earlier five-year infinite delivery, infinite quantity contract, according to the company.

AeroVironment shares were up 1% in recent after-hours activity.
