The Singapore Exchange (SGX) is rolling out five additional Singapore Depository Receipts (SDRs) tied to companies across Asia that form part of the global artificial intelligence supply chain.
The five companies are: TSMC; SK Hynix; Montage Technology; Zhongji Innolight; and Z.AI.
Trading in these five SDRs is set to commence on Friday (Oct 16), with minimum trading sizes kept below S$300.
TSMC is a Taiwanese chipmaking giant and a leading producer of advanced AI chips, while South Korea's SK Hynix is a supplier in the high-bandwidth memory segment.
Z.AI is the world's first publicly listed large language model company. It trades on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange alongside Zhongji Innolight, a leader in high-speed optical interconnect solutions.
Montage Technology is originally listed on Shanghai's tech-focused bourse, the Star Market, and ranks as the world's largest manufacturer of memory-interface chips for AI servers.
SGX said the launch comes as investor activity in SDRs continues to gather momentum, with technology standing out as a particularly strong area of investor interest.
"China technology names accounted for more than 90 per cent of SDR daily turnover and more than 65 per cent of net retail inflows in Q3, led by active trading in Alibaba, Tencent and SMIC," it added.
Data from SGX showed that in the first nine months of 2026, retail investors made net purchases of S$100 million in SDRs, and were net buyers across all SDRs of Hong Kong-listed companies.
BYD, Tencent and Alibaba also drew the largest inflows during that period.
SDRs give investors access to foreign-listed stocks in smaller denominations through a single marketplace. With the five new additions, the Singapore bourse's SDR offering will comprise 43 counters spanning Hong Kong, Thailand, Indonesia and the US.Disclaimer: Investing carries risk.
