Alphabet announced on Wednesday that it is expanding the integration of its Gemini AI with the Chrome browser to additional regions, including India, Canada, and New Zealand. Following this rollout, users will be able to access Gemini via the sidebar in the desktop version of Chrome. This feature allows individuals to ask the AI chatbot questions about on-screen content, retrieve information from Gmail, Keep, Drive, and YouTube, and compare content across different browser tabs. As part of this expansion, Gemini will also gain support for more languages, such as Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Telugu, and Tamil, in addition to English and other languages newly supported by Chrome. Alphabet first introduced the Gemini feature for Chrome in the United States last September, initially as a floating window. Earlier this year, the company launched the sidebar-based version of the Gemini tool.
