Li Auto-W (02015) experienced a surge of more than 10% before midday, climbing 10.41% to HK$54.85, with a trading volume of HK$970 million.
According to market media reports, Li Auto has outlined plans for two robot products: a two-wheeled robot and a bipedal robot. The two-wheeled variant is designed for factory environments and is slated for a public release within the year. In terms of organizational structure, Li Auto restructured its intelligent systems department in February 2026, forming three teams dedicated to humanoid robots, software ontology, and foundational models. The humanoid robot project is codenamed "Nexus."
Li Auto has stated that it is simultaneously developing autonomous driving, the first phase of embodied intelligence, and general-purpose humanoid robots, the second phase. The company's total research and development investment for 2026 is projected to be as high as 120 billion yuan, with AI-related spending accounting for approximately 50% of that amount.
Notably, Li Auto's self-developed VLA driver large model has achieved a monthly usage rate of 91%, placing its user penetration among the industry's highest. Additionally, the company's proprietary AI inference chip for autonomous driving, the M100, has completed prototype testing and is expected to be delivered with new vehicles in 2026. This chip is anticipated to offer superior cost-effectiveness in scenarios such as visual task processing and large model inference compared to some current high-end chips.
Industry insiders believe that these AI technologies are likely to be transferred to the robot products, enabling technology reuse.
