Hong Kong Stock Market Movers: PONY-W Surges Over 7% Intraday, Fourth-Generation Robotruck Rolls Off Sany Heavy Truck Production Line

Stock News08-11

PONY-W (02026) saw its shares climb more than 7% during intraday trading, and as of press time, the stock was up 5.67% to HK$67.1, with a turnover of HK$59.0072 million.

On the news front, He Xing, Vice President of Pony AI Inc and head of its trucking division, announced at a recent media briefing that the company's fourth-generation Robotruck has officially rolled off the production line at Sany Heavy Truck's manufacturing facility. Concurrently, the company's first L4-level unmanned light truck has also entered actual operational scenario testing.

This development marks a significant transition for Pony AI Inc's trucking business from a "validation phase" into a "large-scale expansion phase." The company's immediate target is to deploy 500 to 1,000 heavy trucks over the next two to three years, leveraging light trucks as a key lever to drive a steep growth curve in the urban distribution market.

Xiao Ping, Product Director of the trucking division, pointed out that the current fleet of urban logistics vehicles in China totals approximately 14 million units, with 4.2-meter light trucks accounting for about 8 million units, making them the dominant vehicle type. Compared to the market's low-speed unmanned logistics vehicles with 5 to 6 cubic meters of space, Pony AI Inc's light trucks offer a generational advantage across four dimensions: "more volume, faster speed, longer range, and greater cost savings." The cost per kilometer of freight transport can be reduced by nearly 50% compared to traditional solutions. Currently, this model has formed substantive cooperation with well-known logistics and express delivery groups, and it has entered actual operational scenario testing.
