The CSOP Tesla 2x Leveraged Product (07766) has surged nearly 8% in early trading, rising 7.95% to HK$75.5 with a turnover of HK$4.191 million.
On the news front, SpaceX's Terafab facility in Texas has recently broken ground, with the initial investment for both SpaceX and Tesla Motors projects totaling US$16.8 billion. The Terafab is expected to eventually produce 1 terawatt of computing power annually. The factory will manufacture processors needed to drive Tesla Motors' Optimus humanoid robots and Cybercab autonomous taxis, while also producing high-power chips for running SpaceX's space data centers.
Additionally, Tesla Motors recently released its earnings report, showing strong revenue growth in Q2 but profits falling short of expectations, primarily due to declining regulatory credits, lower energy margins, and a peak in AI investment. Huatai Securities believes the company's core business profitability is still recovering (with automotive gross margin excluding credits up 1.3 percentage points year-over-year). Coupled with accelerating FSD subscriptions, the rollout of dedicated Robotaxi models, and the advancement of Optimus production lines, the company is accelerating its transformation from an electric vehicle maker to a physical AI company. The firm maintains a "buy" rating.
