Alibaba Group has responded to media reports suggesting the imminent launch of "shrimp farming" PC and host hardware led by its Alibaba Cloud Wuying team. The company confirmed the existence of such a plan, stating it is based on modifications to existing products but clarified that no release schedule has been finalized. According to informed sources, the product in question is a cloud computer, not a traditional PC. Official documentation describes Wuying Cloud Computer as a secure and efficient cloud-based computing solution that enables rapid creation, deployment, centralized management, and maintenance of cloud computing environments. It is widely used in industries with stringent requirements for data security management, control, and high-performance computing capabilities, such as finance, design, video production, and education. Previous media reports from knowledgeable individuals indicated that Alibaba plans to launch hardware products including the JVS Book (notebook terminal) and JVS Box (mini host). The notebook terminal is positioned for mobile office use, built on an OpenClaw-like architecture with deep integration of the JVS Claw platform. The JVS Box targets desktop office scenarios, serving as a desktop-level AI Agent workstation and also adopting a similar OpenClaw architecture. Sources revealed that these hardware products will be spearheaded by the Alibaba Cloud Wuying team, with plans to extend from the software platform to hardware terminals to create a comprehensive AI Agent experience. Public reports show that Alibaba previously launched JVS Claw on March 13, originally named "Wuying JVS," which represents Alibaba's version of an OpenClaw product. Wuying is a core cloud computing product line introduced by Alibaba Cloud in 2020, specializing in cloud desktop and cloud application services that emphasize "computing power in the cloud with no local deployment required." It provides JVS Claw with an independent cloud operating environment, computing power scheduling, and security isolation capabilities.
