Report: Iranian Nuclear Team Delays Departure for Talks with U.S., Citing Israeli Strikes in Southern Lebanon

The Iranian negotiation delegation has delayed its departure for talks in Switzerland due to Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon, according to a report by the Hezbollah-affiliated Al Mayadeen network.

The team was scheduled to hold initial talks with U.S. officials at the Buergenstock resort on Friday to discuss implementing the newly signed cease-fire agreement between Washington and Tehran. Mediators from Pakistan and Qatar are also slated to take part in the meeting.

Al Mayadeen also reported that Tehran had informed U.S. officials and mediators that the situation in Lebanon is central to its participation in the talks, warning that Israeli operations deeper than 10 kilometers inside Lebanon constitute a blatant violation of the first clause of the framework agreement.
