According to information compiled from Woofun AI, ARK Invest and Securitize (SECZ.US) officially announced on September 24 that they would migrate the ARK Venture Fund led by Cathie Wood onto the Ethereum blockchain for tokenized issuance.

Data organized by Woofun AI shows the fund's total size is approximately $1.3 billion. As of the August 31 holdings structure, as much as 78% of assets were allocated to private market entities, with SpaceX (SPCX.US) ranking first at a 7.54% share, while OpenAI and Anthropic accounted for 5.26% and 3.86% respectively.

Through the Securitize platform, qualified investors are able to use digital tokens to confirm ownership on a public ledger, thereby indirectly holding equity stakes in these unlisted technology giants.

Looking back to September 2022, ARK Invest had already launched such innovative attempts, setting a minimum investment threshold of $500 to break down traditional venture capital barriers.

However, as a periodic fund, its liquidity is strictly limited: repurchase windows open only once per quarter and often face oversubscription pressure, with the official stance explicitly ruling out the possibility of secondary market trading.

In addition, investors must bear an annual operating expense of 2.9%, a cost structure that reflects the complexity and management difficulty of the underlying assets.

Breakthroughs at the regulatory level are crucial. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) opened the way for tokenized stock trading on September 17 and issued specific instructions on September 21 allowing fund shares to circulate on private electronic trading platforms.

Cathie Wood pointed out that this move is expected to reshape the access mechanism between public and private markets.

On an industry benchmark basis, BlackRock (BLK.US)'s BUIDL fund had already completed similar tokenization as early as March 2024.

ARK Invest announced a strategic investment in Securitize in October 2025, driving the latter's share price higher; at the same time, the fund's net assets surged from $208 million in July 2025 to $558 million in January 2026, validating strong market demand for the tokenization of scarce unlisted assets.
