Illumina's stock surged 5.14% during intraday trading on Thursday, reflecting significant investor optimism following a series of product announcements from the company.
The genomics company launched a whole-genome sequencing research workflow for molecular residual disease detection, which is expected to support residual disease detection and cancer genomic profiling. The workflow can complete processing in about five days and targets analytical sensitivity down to 10 parts per million for certain tumors.
Additionally, Illumina partnered with SPT Labtech to launch fireflyGO, a benchtop automation platform for targeted oncology NGS library preparation. The system integrates with Illumina's MiSeq i100 Series to reduce manual steps and improve reproducibility. The company also introduced the first distributed whole-genome sequencing solution for highly sensitive MRD research and announced a new complete solution for MRD research based on whole-genome sequencing.
