On September 28, a financial news alert reported that multiple holders of Bank of China MasterCard cards had taken to social media on September 26 to report suspected fraudulent transactions on their cards.

On September 28, a financial news outlet contacted Bank of China customer service to verify the situation. Regarding the suspected card fraud, the representative stated: "We have received identical feedback from other customers. If fraudulent charges have occurred, please call the 4006695566 credit card manual customer service hotline to report and follow up on the matter." The representative also noted that no official announcement from the head office has been received regarding subsequent handling or whether the issue has already been resolved.

Additionally, the representative advised that if users are concerned about card security, they should first report the card as lost or activate the one-click card lock through mobile banking, online banking, the credit card manual customer service hotline, a branch counter, or the official WeChat account.
