Deep News01-06

On January 6, Starbucks China announced a partnership with Atour Lifestyle Holdings Limited to launch a joint membership program. Gold and Diamond level members of Starbucks who join the program can experience up to 360 days of core Atour Gold member benefits per year, enjoying practical travel perks such as "room upgrades, breakfast for two, and late checkout." Meanwhile, Starbucks Rewards members who are also Atour Obsidian, Platinum, or Gold members and join the joint program can earn double Stars on purchases made through designated Starbucks channels when staying at specified Atour hotels. These Stars can be redeemed for a variety of rewards from Starbucks, including services like dedicated airport transfers and airport lounge access.

The joint membership benefits introduced by Starbucks and Atour will cover all membership tiers of both brands. Members can claim exclusive perks by linking their accounts through the respective mobile apps or WeChat mini-programs. During the promotion period, Starbucks Gold members can receive up to 12 Atour Gold member trial privileges, including up to 36 breakfast-for-two vouchers and 36 late checkout vouchers. Starbucks Diamond members can upgrade three of these Atour Gold trial privileges to Atour Platinum trial privileges, gaining access to additional core benefits such as up to 18 room upgrade vouchers. Starbucks Silver and Jade members can also regularly receive Atour discount coupons with no minimum spend requirement, enjoying special offers.

During their stay at an Atour hotel, joint Starbucks-Atour members who hold an Atour Obsidian, Platinum, or Gold membership level can earn double Stars on purchases made through designated Starbucks channels. Atour hotels have also specially designed a joint meal-delivery robot, featuring themed exterior decorations and voice announcements for the joint membership program.

As of November 2025, Starbucks China's membership base has surpassed 160 million, with 25 million members active within the past 90 days. Currently, Starbucks has established a four-tier membership growth system consisting of Silver, Jade, Gold, and Diamond levels. Members at each tier can accumulate "Reward Stars" through everyday purchases and participation in member activities, which can be flexibly redeemed for various Starbucks Rewards.
