Rocket Lab USA, Inc. (RKLB) stock plummeted 5.02% during intraday trading on Thursday.
The decline followed news that Rocket Lab is part of a U.S. military vendor pool for the Space-Based Airborne Moving Target Indicator (SB-AMTI) program alongside SpaceX and other defense contractors. However, government records show Rocket Lab received a contract valued at only $10,000 under the initiative, which is a placeholder allocation, while SpaceX secured billions in obligations for the same program.
This contrast in contract scales may have led to investor disappointment, contributing to the stock's downward movement.
