Shares of Natera (NTRA) surged 16.47% in post-market trading Thursday, following the release of its second-quarter financial results. The genetic testing company reported a narrower-than-expected loss and revenue that significantly exceeded analyst forecasts.

Natera posted Q2 revenue of $752.8 million, a 38% year-over-year increase, beating the consensus estimate of $660.7 million. The adjusted loss per share was $0.47, outperforming the expected loss of $0.49. The company also raised its full-year 2026 revenue guidance to a range of $2.85 billion to $2.91 billion, up from the previous $2.74 billion to $2.82 billion, and above the Wall Street estimate of $2.80 billion. Management cited higher overall test volumes, particularly a 57% surge in oncology test volumes, as a key driver of the strong performance.

The positive market reaction underscores investor confidence in Natera's growth trajectory. The company highlighted continued progress in reducing the cost of revenues, contributing to improved gross margins, and provided an outlook for positive cash flow in 2026. The after-hours rally reflects robust quarterly execution and an optimistic financial forecast.
