NVIDIA announced on Monday that it has appointed Susan Nora Johnson, the former Vice Chairman of Goldman Sachs Group, as a company director. This appointment is set to take effect on July 13, 2026. At that time, NVIDIA's board will expand from 10 to 11 members, and Johnson is expected to serve on the audit committee.
Johnson, 68 years old, holds a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Southern California. She worked at Goldman Sachs for over two decades, serving as Chairman of Global Markets Institute, Global Head of Research, and Global Head of Healthcare Investment Banking, accumulating extensive experience across various fields from research to investment banking within the firm.
Currently, Johnson also serves as a director at Pfizer Inc., where she chairs the audit committee and is a member of the executive committee and the regulatory and compliance committee. Previously, she served as Chair of the Board at Intuit Inc. for nearly two decades, having recently stepped down from that role.
NVIDIA's President and CEO, Jensen Huang, stated that Susan is an outstanding leader whose career spans finance, technology, healthcare, and public policy. Her experience in guiding global enterprises, along with her leadership at the forefront of education and philanthropy, will be a valuable asset to the NVIDIA board. The company is honored to welcome her and looks forward to her insightful contributions as it builds the future of the AI era.
With Johnson's addition, NVIDIA is further strengthening its governance structure to address the rapid growth and strategic opportunities it faces as a leading AI chip company. She also becomes the first independent director on NVIDIA's board with a professional background as a senior investment banking executive.
